Your TicTacToe Challenge Cards

Good Morning Ladies,

Well what can I say, Janet you will need to set up the extra boards, Paul has dusted them off for you!!
You ladies have absolutely 'aced' this challenge.
There are so many amazing cards for you to see, so I will hold you up no longer...…….

Cheryl

Cheryl has designed this beautiful birthday card for this weeks TicTacToe Challenge, she has used a by Tonic, a 'Verso' die called Cassandra's Garden.
Cheryl I love that delicate yellow background paper, this would make a beautiful wedding or anniversary card too.  That pretty die cut daisy finishes that die cut off beautifully.
Cheryl used Categories: Yellow/Birthday/Die cut
Thank you so much for taking part.

Janet

Three totally different designs from Janet this week, all three work perfectly for our TicTacToe Challenge too.
Card No.1 Circle/Die Cut/Birthday,  a beautiful card made by embossing the base card, then layering up some gorgeous die cuts in Black and Gold finishing with a beautifully intricate die cut in the centre that frames the foiled sentiment.

Card No.2 Circle/Die Cut/Flower, A beautiful Easel card that has a Vintage style card base that has a stunning die cut upper part that features a wreath design with lots of foliage that Janet has die cut in pretty purple foiled card. The 'stopper' part of the card is a beautiful die cut rose that is edged with gold and flanked with two lovely leaves.

Card No.3 Male/Birthday/Die cut,  Janet's third card is one for the Men, it features a fantastic stamped background that has been finished with some die cut cogs.

Thank you so much Janet for three amazing challenge cards.

Karen

Karen has been super busy in her craft room this week, making 4 cards for this weeks TicTacToe Challenge.
Card No.1  Masculine/Die (scan&Cut)/Birthday , Karen made this card for a Colleague, using an image that she put into the Scan&Cut.  I can imagine they all love your cards Karen.

Card No.2  Die cut/Masculine/Birthday, this is the 'James/Jamie' card that Karen had made last Saturday only to realised that he went by 'Jamie' not James, I can only imagine your frustration Karen, I love the camera image that you have used, you can't go wrong with an 'Eclipse' card, as you can decorate the card in any style and adding the name makes it that bit more special.

Card No.3 Circle/Birthday/Masculine,  another fantastic male card with the added bonus of being personalised! This card was for a Colleague's son, the image is from Google and Karen transferred it into Serif (Craft Artist) and worked her magic, the design really 'pop' Karen.

Card No.4 Flowers/Ribbon/Die Cut, Karen has used one of those dies that cuts 'into' your card and some of the parts out and pop up, allowing you to lift out the petals (in this particular die) and give them some shape and dimension and showing the pretty lilac card beneath,   a simple stamped sentiment matted onto more of the lilac card and some matching pearls added to the flower centres along with some pretty green ribbon finish the card perfectly.  I will say that I think that pop of green works so well with all of the lilac and white.

Thank you so much Karen for 4 amazing Tic Tac Toe Challenge cards, I think that week away from your craft desk has really boosted your creativity.

 Lilian

Two cards from Our lovely Lilian this week, both of them work perfectly for our TicTacToe Challenge.

Card No.1 Yellow/Birthday/Flowers, Such a pretty card Lilian, using a retired piece of SU Designer Series Paper, (I so wish I had more of this particular one left). Lilian has cut the paper and folded it back, which is a great way of showing both sides of patterned paper, Lilian has then stamped some matching yellow flowers on the card base, to make it look like thats what the 'reveal' is showing (so clever)  Lilian has added stitched detail all around the edges of the patterned paper too, which really finishes off the design, two pretty butterflies leaving their pearly trails finish the card perfectly.

Card No.2 Masculine/Die Cut/Birthday, a fantastic Man card that features both Hot Air Ballooning and Sailing, such a lovely scene has been set on this card, the die cut balloons really give dimension to the card. A perfectly placed die cut sentiment finishes this fantastic man card.

Thank you so much Lilian, its good to see your 'Mojo' returning, I honestly think that when our head is in the right place card making/designing is the best therapy.

Lynda

Three fantastic 'Bird' themes card from Lynda this week, all amazing TicTacToe card too.

Card No.1 Circle/Bird/Yellow, Lynda has created one of her amazing blended backgrounds, this time creating a beautifully sunny backdrop to stamp those lovely birds on to, Lynda has then taken a piece of decorative paper and die cut a circle out of the centre to make it into a frame.

Card No2. Flowers/Ribbon/Bird, this card features a beautiful bird topper that Lynda has die cut into a circle and framed, adding some pretty flowers around the frame and finishing it with a pretty yellow ribbon bow.

Card No.3 Birds/Circle/Yellow, similar in design to the first card, this one features 2 pretty birds on a leafy branch, stamped in a 'silhouette' style, on top of another one of Lynda's fantastic blended backgrounds.

Thank you so much Lynda for 3 amazing challenge cards, you must have a huge collection of cards as you always manage to make more than one challenge card.  You always manage to inspire me midweek too, with your fantastic designs, Sue and I were talking about your amazing blended backgrounds on Wednesday, I do hope your ears weren't burning! LOL

Margaret

Two really pretty cards from Margaret for this weeks TicTacToe challenge, both completely different too.
Card No.1 Flowers/Birthday/Yellow, Margaret has used the 'Needlepoint Nook' DSP for this first challenge card, the paper has so much embroidered detail when you see it up close, the designers had someone make up the embroidery and they then photographed it, which is why the detail is so incredibly life like, the Dsp was matted onto some yellow card that Margaret has picked out from the yellow flowers in the paper. all that is needed to compliment this incredible paper is a simple stamped sentiment.

Card No.2 Bird/Die Cut/Birthday, this card uses the 'Best Bird' Stamps set and matching dies, Margaret stamped the little background from the set and then die cut and stamped the bird and stamped the branch onto to the card, adding the leaves separately in green. Margaret has then stamped the sentiment in the same ink as the leaves and punched it out.

Two absolutely fabulous cards Margaret, I can see that you have also got your mojo back, it's lovely to see you really enjoying making cards again my lovely

Michele

Michele made two cards for our TicTacToe Challenge and yes she did manage to make a Christmas card, she is so bloomin clever.!!

Card No.1 Circles/Ribbon/Die Cut, something new for Michele for this challenge is using Background papers, on this card Michele has let the background paper do all the work, simple adding a ribbon border and a die cut circle with the sentiment on and a little gem stone in each corner.

Card No.2 Die Cut/Circles/Ribbon,  this card has a real Oriental look to it, the papers are just so delicate and in stunning colours too, Michele has die cut a scalloped circle in the lovely teal/blue colour and then there is the tiniest hint of pink and then that pretty topper, everything ties together perfectly Michele, adding that bold black ribbon really works with the whole design too.  I think that you should use patterned papers more often my lovely.

Thank you so much for two amazing challenge cards, that you managed to fit in between work,CT scan, shopping, night out etc, you are a superwoman! hahaha

Sue

Sue has made this fantastic Man card for this weeks TicTacToe challenge, I saw this in the design stages on Wednesday while Sue was experimenting with different colours and papers, I have to say I am totally blown away by the final result as I know it really pushed Sue out of her comfort zone.

 Categories: Yellow/Bird/Twine

Sue started her card by creating the background using Distress Oxide inks, Faded Jeans/Peacock feathers and Twisted Citron, blending them around in circles towards the centre, next came the matting and layering onto complimentary colour card, finishing with a lovely vibrant yellow base card. Sue then die cut the Bird and Branch from the Best Bird Die set and mounted them onto her card 'silhouette' style, the same with the sentiment.
Sue finished the card by wrapping twine around the side of the card and mounting a little bird on the knot.  I absolutely love how it turned out Sue, I hope you are pleased with it too.

Thank you so much for taking part in this weeks challenge my lovely.

****I do want to add that this must be the first time that the same stamp/die set has been used by two people in the same challenge.  Also the two people are Mother /Daughter.
I can confirm that neither of them knew what the other was using, as Sue took my stamps and dies home and Margaret used hers quite by chance!!
What were the chances of that happening???! ****

Val

Val has used the most beautiful bird scene topper for her Challenge card this week, her card uses Categories:  Bird/Twine/Birthday,  Val has picked a incredibly colourful base card for her challenge card, using the same card as mats and layers too, now I would never have picked that card as a base but my goodness Val it really works, an embossed layer separates the base card and topper, I love that image so much and also the fact that it has a description with it, Val has finished the card with some matching coloured Bakers Twine and matching buttons and the sentiment of course.
Val it is clearly your experience that lets you be brave with your colours, I am both inspired and blown away.
Thank you so much my dear friend, I know that making cards was the last thing on your mind this week.  I hope that things start to get a little easier for you soon my lovely .

  1. Good Morning Everyone
    WOWWOWWOW!!!!!
What a wonderful array of craftiness this week. I really have to say 'Thank You'PAUL for getting out the extra boards as they are well and truly needed this week.lol

So much inspiration particularly for those males we have to make cards for and so many ideas using the same brief.
It's a good thing we don't have to choose a favourite as I just couldn't.

The snow and ice has gone this morning and a good thing too as we have to brave the cold and visit Christina out in Derbyshire today to take her birthday things for the middle of next week. I only hope that the roads are OK when we leave the 'A' roads. At least it will be lovely and warm in her kitchen as we sit around the table gossiping and drinking hot chocolate and eating 'Fat Rascals'.

The CAFE is OPEN but there isn't a lunch time menu today. Help yourselves to hot drinks and snacks.
HUGS are winging their way to you all. Stay safe and take care.xxxx

We stayed for a couple of hours, we left when the nurses came to give him his meds via his feeding tube. Home about 7pm thrnwe had to start cooking dinner!

My sister continues to improve, some of the tubes were removed today, it’s just getting better day by day.
I hope everyone has had a good day.
