A pretty card made with Sue Wilson's New 'Millie' Die

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all well and fully rested after the weekend. I had a lovely weekend, mostly spent in my craft room.  Today's card is my Challenge card using categories Flowers/Dry Embossing/Square card, read on to find out a little more about today's card.

The lovely Ben at In2Craft asked me to make a card using the 'Millie' die from Sue Wilson's January 2019 release. Of course I jumped at the chance as it is a beautiful die that I can see myself using a lot.

For this first card I wanted to go full on feminine prettiness, so I decided to go for a 'peaches and cream' colour theme.  The colour is actually called Petal Pink.

I made a card base that measured 6 3/4  X 6 3/4 Inches, I used Sue Wilson's Large Pierced Square dies to cut the layers for this card, the embossing folder that I used is also one of Sue Wilson's, I believe its called 'Beaded Arch', it's an A4 folder. I used the square dies to make a frame to cover the edges of the embossed piece.
The main focus of the card is that beautiful die, I can see so many used for that beautiful intricate design, it would make a great doily for using in albums, journals etc, you can of course cut it in any colour to match your projects. having the centre cut out is an option, you can leave the centre in, leave it plain or use the pretty centre piece that I did, I recessed mine just to give the card dimension and to highlight the beautiful detail too.
The flower in the very centre of the die cut was made using the pieces that die cut out of the die, I just gave them some shape with a ball tool and popped them back in, I added an extra layer of petals to make the flower a little fuller, I finished it by popping a pearl embellishment in the centre.
So back to the method, I die cut the base piece of the die in cream card, then that beautiful intricate piece with both the inner and outer cutting edges to create a frame. I raised this up with foam pads so that all that intricate pattern stood out. The centre piece that I decided to cut out was placed flat onto the card base.
Next came the fun part, which was the embellishing, of course any 'feminine, girly' card needs flowers and ribbon, so thats what I used, I had some flowers in my stash that matched the colours perfectly, so I arranged them around the bottom left hand side and finishes with a bow made from cream ribbon with a hint of copper/rose gold on the edges, I placed that upon another bow made from cream dotted tulle ribbon, I topped these with a little flower.  Then to balance the card I added a smaller little spray of flowers on the opposite corner. The sentiment is of course another one of Sue's from a different die set, the name escapes me for now, but will no doubt come back to me at 3am!! lol

I hope that you all like my card, I will leave the link to Ben's store and this die below, there are some stunning dies in this release so I recommend you having a look around once you are there.
I have actually bought one of the stamps that Sue has designed to work with this set, so that is my next project.

Click this link below and it will take you directly to In2craft and this actual die set...……

I hope you all have a lovely day, however you are spending it,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-what an absolutely stunning card, it’s so beautiful. That would be a real Keepsake card.

We had s bracing walk to the beach yesterday afternoon-the walk down was ok but my goodness, it was so cold & windy once we got on the beach. There was a group of people surf-kiting, They were moving extremely fast but no-one seemed to get in each other’s way.

Not looking forward to going into work today but needs must.

  2. Morning Everyone
WOW SANDRA what a gorgeous card. Definitely a winner in my book. The delicate colour just suits so well. Looking forward to seeing the results of your next project.

It's Mr Tesco this morning and Jim is on duty so I'm hoping I can get to play with some new dies I have. Well that's the plan.

It's very cold here with a deep ground frost so if going out wrap up warm.
The CAFE is OPEN as usual ready and waiting for you all to pop in.
HUGS are on their way to you. Take care and stay safe.xxxx

  3. Morning ladies,

Such a pretty card Sandra, the shade of pink used is so delicate a colour.
Just popped back to yesterday to see another exquisite display of challenge cards. well done to one and all.

I had the very sad news from my cousin Caroline on Thursday that her brother Andrew had died late afternoon OZ time. I am so glad we spent time together when he visited the UK back in the 90's as adults. Jamie and I had taken him to Longleat so he could take photos of Postman Pat's Village for his youngest daughter Kylie who was a big fan of the show. We decided to go into the maze before lunch and as Jamie was the smallest (only 3) we let him take the lead. 5 minutes later we were standing at the exit hahaha, and had to turn round to get lost to find the tower in the middle. Great hilarity that day we had.

Gentle hugs and healing prayers to all in need of them.

    Love 7 hugs

  8. Hello Sandra and ladies,
WOW...What a beautiful card you created for Ben, I’m sure he was delighted when he saw your gorgeous creation. Love the delicate shade of pink you used, this is a really lovely feminine card. xx
I had an appointment with our GP this morning. About a year ago he told me I have a frozen shoulder, he gave me exercises and painkillers, He was reluctant to give me injections because I take Warfarin. I’ve tried my best to go down the route he suggested but the pain I get trying to do the exercises is indescribable. John really nagged me into getting an appointment he could see how I was struggling. The Doctor sent me for blood tests and now I’m waiting for an appointment for a scan, not sure how long I will have to wait.
Hope everyone has a good week. Hugs Brenda xxx
