Happy Birthday Mum!

 Hi Everyone,
Sorry for not posting for the last couple of days, the journey etc totally wiped me out!
Today's card is the one I made for my Mum's birthday, thankfully she loved it, which pleased me greatly!
I started off with an 8x8 card, then had a go at piercing a border, I have to say that I am not a natural like Sue, I was using the Tim Holtz retractable piercing tool made by tonic and I think that the point part is graduated so if you don't use the same pressure on each hole they appear different sizes, while at Ally Pally I bought the same tool that Sue uses (it looks like a dart without the flights), I got it from the Colemans stand (i think) as that was where Sue had told me she had got hers!
I coloured some white card with the milled lavender distress ink and used it as a tiny matt, then I embossed another piece of white card with Creative Expressions A4 Embossing Folder 'Cascading Hearts', i then cut another matt of lavender coloured card,  then another white, I used a couple of Fleur de lys flourishes (spellbinders) I think I used Majesctic Elements labels 25, to cut the fancy matt. I cut some flowers using the Spellbinder 'Bitty Blossoms' out of Creative Expressions Felt, which cuts like butter, I used a flourish from my stash, popped some lilac coloured pearls on top of the flowers and in the corners. I used a Lily of the valley stamp to put 'mum' on the card and put a little contrast of felt behind it, added a couple CE pearl swirls!  Wow this explaining thing takes forever! sorry guys, but someone might find it useful!
I have my lovely husband Paul home today, YAY! I might pop along to the allotment with him this afternoon, its so peaceful there, all you can hear is birds! I can sit and make and he can do some hard graft, he is building a fruit cage to stop the pesky pigeons pinching our raspberries!
Happy Crafting,
Sandra

Vintage Floral

Good Morning Crafters,
Just a quick one today, I just love, love, love My Minds Eye papers, all of them!
So this card was just created so I could use this paper. Its their Lost & Found Blush range, the whole pad is gorgeous! I simply layered some pink and green matching card, I wove some pink seam binding through some lace and but it along the side of the card, I cut my sentiment out with a small floral oval die.
I made a bow with the seam binding, backed with some tulle, I topped it with a flower, as I am true believer that no bow should ever be seen naked! haha! I stuck a couple of heart shaped stick pins in behind the bow, added some small roses and leaves at the side and Voila! (did I say a quick one?!) sorry!
Thanks for stopping by, I would love to hear your comments,
Hugs and snuggles,
Sandra xx

18th Vintage Card

Hello
I made this card for my Daughter's Boyfriend's Sister Georgia.  Her bedroom is white and vintage floral, so that's' the feel i went for!
The Paper is from Papermania Vintage Notes Collection, I don't usually buy anything from them but these papers were lush!
I then cut a Doily from my Cheery Lynn English Tea Party Die, lovely intricate design that cuts surprisingly easy! Also a Classic Heart in pink, layered them with a Captivating Square and a Fleur de Lys Square with sentiment on. I tucked a pink

feather behind a small spray of paper roses and some Spellbinders leaves, I tied a bow with some white ribbon and put a diamond shape pink gem brad through the centre, oh I almost forgot I put some white lace ribbon behind the focal element.
I hope that gives you an idea of how I put this card together, any queries please leave me a message and ask.
Thank you for stopping by today, I am so grateful x

My Little 'Pushkins'

Hi Everyone,
Here are gorgeous 'fur babies'
This is Milo, he is about 15 weeks old now
he is a real softie.
He is going to be a big boy, it is believed that his
daddy is a Birman, hence his huge paws!
This is Beautiful Bella, she is Milo's sister, they were a litter of five!
So again she is about 15 weeks, you wuld never believe they are brother and sister, but then we did discover that cats do not release their eggs until they have been 'mated' several times, that is how they end up with kittens of all breeds and sizes in one litter!
Bella was a lot more shy than Milo, she would hide away at every opportunity, but now she hops up for fussing just as much as Milo!

You can kind of get an idea of the size difference here, the play fight an awful lot of the time but they are inseparable, they always sleep together x

Sibling Love

 Milo, a few weeks ago!

                       Bella today x
                       thanks again, for stopping
                       by, hugs, Sandra xx

Happy 21st Birthday

 Good Morning everyone,
I don't like to complain about the weather but I am hoping its a little cooler today!
Today's card is a 21st Birthday card I made for a young lady that isn't really 'girlie' so no lace and ribbons! At first I was stuck for what to do, but then I got my my trusty old Cricut out, for the money we spent on it I really don't use it often enough, mainly because of my Grand Calibur and dies!
Anyway I went for a black and pink theme, I cut some balloons out on my Cricut using some My Minds Eye papers (i love them), I attached them to the card using foam pads, (I cut a colour balloon shape and a black shadow to highlight) I then coiled some Jewellery wire (although you can't really see it)
I used it as the string on the balloons! I have some banner dies that I used for the sentiment, which I printed
out and covered with Sue's 'iced snow'! I cut the 21 out on the Cricut too and mounted them on with foam pads. Some of Sue'e pearl swirls filled the background. All finished off with.......you guessed it, another Sue's Classic Bow, in matching card, with a pearl brad though the centre!
I decorated a handmade box to match, with the young lady's name on, as a 'personal' touch!
all for now, thanks so much for stopping by,
hugs

 Good Monday Morning,
Well this card was supposed to be on yesterday but for some reason didn't appear!
I used an a image from Crafters  Companion SWALK cd rom, mounted on to some 'dotty' embossed card, them mounted onto a Floral Oval die from Spellbinders, I used some matching pink and yellow polka dot card to cover an 8x8 card, to make a little background interest, I cut some coconut white card with Lattice Spellbinder die a cut it up, put some matching pink/yellow roses on and some leaves die cut from dotty card too!
My sentiment I just printed off and die cut with a Banner Die, the crowning glory is a piece of white tulle with some pearl string, with one of Sue's Classic Bow Dies on top, but in matching card!
Coleen was over the moon with her card, I hope you like it too!
Many thanks for stopping by, please leave me a comment as I love reading them,

Good Morning, Thank goodness the weekend is finally upon us!
Not that our lovely kittens realise its the weekend and that they don't have to come and dance on our bed at 5.15am! Bless the little darlings.
Today's card is one I made for a dear friend, The card was in Blue's to match in with the March Birthstone Aquamarine, it was based on a design of Sue's from some time ago.   I made the matching necklace and earrings too, I used genuine aquamarine and gold findings, I also made the box to put the jewellery in!
The flowers on the card were made using Spellbinders
Bitty Blossom Dies and some paper flowers from my stash. The bid die at the bottom is the Heartfelt Creations 'Decorative Lace Border Die' I love it, so pretty. The sentiment is from a Creative Expressions
set 'Kind Thoughts'. I die cut it using Beaded Ovals Spellbinder die.
My friend loved her gift, I hope you like it too!

It seems like only yesterday!

I made this card a couple of weeks ago for a friend who's daughter was getting married.  The verse is so beautiful I wanted it to be the focal point of the card,
I will say that the tears were streaming down my face as I was typing into the computer, very emotional and very true, it seemed very close to home as my daughter is called Rebecca too!
I used a 8x8 square card and trimmed 2/3rds of the front away, I then covered the whole card with a soft gold patterned paper, from an old Kanban kit i think.  I cut out the verse using a Grand Square Spellbinder Die and matted and layered onto a larger Grand Square of soft gold shimmer card from my stash, I ran a strip of contrasting paper down the length of the card on both sides and topped that strip with a pearl a length of decorative pearl string.  I then mounted the verse topper onto the left hand side of the card, decorating with a few paper roses and some of Sue's (Creative Expressions) mini pearl Swirls, they are so pretty and so useful when you just need a 'little something'! I finished the card with the adorable 'Classic 3D Bow Dies from Sue Wilson's 'Finishing Touches Collection'
they are perfect for finishing off your projects using matching papers, so no need to try and find matching ribbon, genius, as are most of the new Sue Wilson Dies, you can tell they have been designed by a Crafter as she has thought of everything, from creating that perfect border to flower dies the exact size that we have had to hand cut before and as you need 3 for every single flower it was a bit of a chore, but no more, I couldn't wait to get my hands on them!
Anyway, thanks for stopping by
Hugs

New Start,New Life!

This is a card I made some time ago now, for a friend.
I used an 8 x 7 scalloped square card. matt and layered some
blue and blue gingham card. I then stamped the Lily Of the Valley
'all our dreams' stamp and coloured it with promarkers. I printed the birth details on some coconut white card and die cut using Romantic Rectangles Spellbinder die. I used a Martha Stewart punch to make the border at the bottom and layered some gingham ribbon on top, finished with a bow, a blue button and some bakers twine.
You could easily do it in pink for a girl, or a neutral colour!
Thanks for stopping by, I really do appreciate it.
Hugs

New Start!!!!

Hello,
I now fully intend to post on here more often, I hadn't realised how long it had been since I last
posted! But thats just how life goes sometimes!
I so admire the truly inspirational craft experts like Sue Wilson and Christine Emberson who blog everyday
regardless of whats going on in their lives, so I am using that as my inspiration to try and post more often!
