Good Saturday Morning Ladies,
As you are reading today's post we will be on our way to Nottingham, we are going to meet up with Paul's Aunt and Cousins, Paul's Mum and Brother are going too, it will be nice ti catch up with everyone, it's such a shame its so cold though.
Now how would you all feel about having a go at a 'Thrinchie ' ??
A Thrinchie is literally a 3 inch X 3 inch piece of 'Art'. Karen and I have made them a couple of years ago, Karen has started again, using different stamps etc to create them, she has really inspired me to restart too. They are a fun way to craft without making cards that you don't need.
It's easier to treat it as a small card, I think that if we refer to it as 'Art' it immediately terrifies us as we don't see ourselves as 'Artists'
For me a thrinchie is a lot less daunting as a 5 x 7 inch card base.
Here are some examples.....
You can make them as simple or detailed as you like, you could use a simple ink background with a die cut flower, or like the one above, an ink background with a silhouette stamp.
Or you can create a scene, or go completely abstract, the choice is yours.
You can also choose the size, it doesn't have to be a 'Thrinchie', it could be 4 x 4, 5 x 5, 6 x 6 etc.
Here are a list of Subjects to help inspire your Thrinchies etc....
1 Spring
2 Wings
3 Circles
4 Pattern
5 butterflies
6 feathers
7 poppies
8 vintage
9 happiness
10 hexagons
11 sewing
12 botanicals
13 woodland
14 heartfelt
15 squares
16 blooms
17 love
18 critters
19 colours
20 containers
21 trees and leaves
22 bouquet
23 alphabets
24 daisy
25 quirky
26 clocks
27 numbers
28 gardens
29 animals
30 home
31 florals
You don't have to make them in order, pick your favourites first (that's what I did)
You can use any stamps, papers, inks etc
Don't feel pressured, I am just trying to inspire you, especially if you are struggling like me.
I keep mine in a little album to use as inspiration. You can do that or you can use them as a topper on a card, or part of a journal page.
I hope that you all have a great Saturday,
Love & hugs to all of you,
Sandra xxx
That saying so true I promised myself that this year I would only buy cardstock and glue and I’ve already bought items from Sizzix and Temu!🤦🏼♀️
ReplyDeletePlease try a Thrinchie They are great fun with lots of ideas on Pinterest/YouTube The above list was set up as a challenge by Aall and Create over 2 years ago I like having to be “tied down” to a specific theme It makes me concentrate on one thing instead of having a million and one ideas floating around Do something like choose your favourite stamp or die cut or colour Once you get into it you will enjoy it
I hope journey goes OK Sandra and you have a lovely time catching up with Paul’s family
Take care everyone xx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteLove the quote 😉 that’s definitely me 😂
I love all of the Thrinchies on display, they’re very inspiring. I’ve made a few in the past - although not sure they’re 3x3” - I’ll have a look and measure them ☺️
I hope you have a good journey to Nottingham and a lovely time with family 😊
I’ve been to work this morning but not doing much for the rest of the day.
Have a good day everyone
Sending hugs to you all xxx
Hi Sandra and all looking in.
ReplyDeleteI hope you and Paul have a good time today with his Mum etc.
Sorry I don’t get in yesterday but your card was lovely. I always love that colour combo xx
Love the Thrinchies you shared today.
I really struggled before trying to do ACDs but I’m going to write a few of the numbers from your list that appeal then pick one blindly. Then I will keep it very simple. That’s the plan anyway 🤞🏻
Maria, I’m thinking of you. What a worrying time for all of you and your family. Sending gentle hugs xx
It is a bit warmer here today after such a cold wind yesterday. Have a good day. Take care. Love Sue xx
Hello, hope you had a good trip to see family Sandra.
ReplyDeleteThat saying is so true to me. I did quite well last year, but not so good this year, having bought several new stamps already, and several more on my list.
Maria thinking of you , hoping things are going a bit better for you and your family.
Sandra love the idea of doing the thrinchies, I’ve only done that one, I started doing tags as I had so many cards, so will definitely join in.
Hope you all have a good day and keep warm, as It’s bitterly cold here. Lilian
Hello Sandra and everyone,
ReplyDeleteI hope your family meet up went well and everyone had a good journey, I'm sure everyone has so many memories of the day. It amazing how the time flies by on these occasions it’s always difficult to switch off when you get home. Try to get a good nights sleep xxx
Maria thinking of you, stay strong. Sending caring thoughts and prayers.
Hope everyone has had a good day, enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Love and hugs, Brenda xxx
