Happy Saturday Ladies

Good Saturday Morning Ladies,

Can you believe we are welcoming February already?  It feels like Christmas was a couple of weeks ago,  January usually feels like such a long month but not this year, maybe it's because I've had hospital procedures mixed with being busy with the wedding invitations and wedding planning!  I hope that doesn't mean the whole year will fly by.  I love February as we start to see all of the Spring flowers pushing through, we already have some lovely clumps of Snowdrops around the village, the daffs are pushing their way through too.                     We have an exciting week ahead, the girls are off this weekend,  then the girls birthday on Tuesday,  how can they be 25?!   Then Wednesday all of Becca's Bridesmaids are trying on their dresses together, so we have a lovely evening at Bull Hotel planned for that.  The wedding invitations are just about finished so they will be going out midweek too.  So February is getting off to a flying start i  our house.

Yesterday I restarted my 'Snippet' journey,  I was inspired to restart by our Karen,  they really are a great way to get you into trying different craft techniques.

This is Snippet number 57, designed by Tracy Evans of course.

I took a piece of 4 × 6 inch card, I used large post it's to mask off a section of the card, I took my brayer and loaded it with Salvaged Patina Oxide ink, then I added a layer of Cracked Pistachio and.a final light touch of Salty Ocean.  I flicked some water on and blotted it off to add some more texture to the background.  Next came the stamping, which started with the Fern stamps, and the Bird that has the ferns as part of the design, to add some extra detail I stamped the " Each Day is a Treasure " sentiment all over the background in grey (so that it stays in the background,  then I stamped the same sentiment in Black onto white card so that it stands out.  I added shading around the sentiment too.

These are just bits of art to get you crafting, you can add to them to make into a card or a journal page.

I hope that you all have a lovely weekend,

Love & hugs to all of you,

Sandra xxx

  1. Your Snippet is lovely I really enjoy doing them I might not have the stamps she uses but I improvise It is a great way of trying new techniques and as Tracy says you can extend the idea or pare it back I am trying Number 24 at mo and will do number 25 to fill a Miss P Loves journal and then will pick random ideas that I I like the look of These 24+ have taken me over a year to do Something I dabble with every now and again
    Take care everyone xx

  2. Hi, another drab day, have spent the morning watering and feeding my orchids, at the moment they are looking lovely, if I dare to say.

    That saying is me sometimes.

Love your snippet, I’ve tried many times ,but it just ends up looking messy. Karen, fantastic that you have managed to get that many done, it’s the backgrounds that never look right for me. I will have another go this week. Didn’t think to use a roller to do the background.

It’s cold here again today, but at least no and my Daphne plant is flowering for the first time, it smells wonderful.
Have a good evening everyone, Lilian

  3. Hi everyone
Sorry I missed you yesterday but just forgot to go back in after glimpsed your pretty work in the morning. I love today's snippet and I'm starting to get the crafting feeling back but not card making. It will come but I'm taking a little break just now.
Karen, have a great time on Sunday. Love to know more about Tracey and wondering if she ever do a class that you can join or is it only on line ? I haven't got any of her stamps but have thought of getting some soon.
I hope you all have had a nice day today even if the weather wasn't too good. I met up with a friend from fibro group, her husband and a neighbour came too and we had a nice lunch and catch up at Dobbies garden centre.
Have a nice evening everyone. Many warm hugs to you all , Maria xx
