Tulip Flower pot Thrinchie

🥳🎉 Happy Birthday Janet 🥳🎉

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

Please join me in wishing our Dear Janet a very Happy Birthday,  I hope you have a lovely day celebrating with your family ❤️

I had a lovely crafty day yesterday,  a good portion of it was spent out of my comfort zone while attempting to colour my thrinchies with pencils but I persevered !! 🤣😂
I did come to enjoy colouring aa I finished the pot, it's a long way from perfect but its  start, right?!
The pot stamp actually has an Auricular in but I covered that over when inking and then added the tulips in.  I added in some extra foliage too, to fill the pot out.  I then started colouring and lost a good hour +, it's very relaxing though.  I popped the little bird in,  then added the little cat who is looking directly at that little bird, it wouldn't have still been there in our house !!!
Tracey talks you through these thrinchies so well, it makes it fun to follow.  I had to use my own judgement on colours as I don't have Prismacolor pencils.

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs to all,

Good Thursday Morning Ladies,

We had quite a chilly day yesterday,  mostly bright and sunny though.  Lucy has asked me to thank you all for your well wishes yesterday, she thought she was feeling a bit better yesterday,  so we popped out so she could get fuel and had a quick trip into Coop, I could see that she was struggling in the Coop, when we got home she was totally wiped out, she was breathing really fast and had to go and lie down,  I'm  not sure how she will get on going into work today bless her, she is in no fit state.

I did start a new Thrinchie yesterday afternoon,  however Becca sent out her wedding invitations on Monday, so my phone was buzzing with messages from different family members, most moaning about the price of hotels in and around Burford,  I had to explain that the wedding is in the Cotswolds still in High season,  not that its ever a 'quiet' season around here,  every where is busy all year round.  So by 6pm I was still only half finished my thrinchie, it had a lot of colouring, which takes time.

So I have shared a Thrinchie that I made on this day in 2023 !!

Here is the description...

Today I am sharing my 'Sewing' themed Thrinchie that I made yesterday afternoon, I really enjoyed making this one,  although all those splatters made a fair mess of my desk I can tell you!  I used Tracy Evans Sewing Forever #396 to create this one, I enjoyed the colouring, I will say that the Bristol Smooth card makes such a difference to blending the Ecoline pens, so it's worth investing in some if you have Ecoline pens.  I like how bright and vibrant this one is.

I hope that all have a good day,

Love to all,

Pretty Blue Tit

Good Wednesday Morning Ladies,

I made another card yesterday,  I believe these are all Workshop 76.  I really enjoyed this one, even colouring the bird.  I made myself take time to blend the colours on the bird.  Lucy is still proper congested, she was saying that she had pain in her face from her congested sinuses,  so we got the steamer out and the menthol crystals, that gave her a bit of temporary relief, so I got her to sit and do some of her paint by numbers, I bought my Blue tit stamped image and Polychromo pencils to the dining table and we sat and coloured together.   I do hope she feels brighter today.  As I am writing this post (2am) she is having a better night,  not much coughing so far 🤞

This card is a 5 x 7 inch, with 4 3/4  X  6 3/4 inch, front panel 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch.

I started by lightly inking through the Aall&Create Neurons stencil with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide,  now I didn't have the 'Bird text stamp' that Tracey suggested,  so I gathered a few bird theme words and arranged them on an acrylic block and stamped second generation Versafine Clair ink that matched Peacock Feathers, I added three areas of light stamping.  Next I stamped the Blue tit oh his branch onto my inked background.  I then stamped the Blue Tit again onto an off cut of white card and coloured him in.  Once I was happy with the colouring I started to think about putting the card together.  Now the bird looked like he was hanging in mid air, so  die cut a circle frame and placed it over the bird.  I took the second (coloured) bird and used an embossing tool to give him some shape on the back side.  I then added a double sided foam pad on the back of the bird,  then added some Sisal nest for a bit of interest, after I was happy with the amount, I added another foam pad to hold the sisal in place, the added a blob of glue on the foam pad and adhered it over the stamped Blue tit on my card, making sure it was lined up.

I coloured and fussy cut the little circle under the bird, using colours that went with the background.  I adhered this too, using foam pads.  Of course we needed some ink splatters, I did some yellow to tie in with the bird and some white.  I couldn't decide on a sentiment,  ended up using a Tim Holtz one at the bottom, but it looked lost so I added a couple of words from the bird stamp set, adding them around the frame.  A few little matching sequins finished the card.

What do you think?

I hope that you all have a 'Happy Hump Day'

Love & Hugs to all,

Sandra xxx

A spring card for a change..

Good Morning Ladies,

How is your week going?  We had a mixed day yesterday, poor Lucy ended having to come home from work as she was feeling so unwell,  she has a really nasty cold with a cough that keeps her awake (and me) all night, I was worrying about her, I got her some extra pillows to try and get her cough to stop so that she could sleep. Fingers crossed for a better night.

The good news was about Matt, he has been interested in photography for about 3 years, he has a really nice camera and has done some online courses that we bought him as a gift, he was out and about talking photos and got spotted by a chap who asked him to go to a skate park and take some photos of the people on skateboards.  Anyway he had a call yesterday and one of the photos that he took is being featured in a magazine,  a full page spread!!  He was absolutely buzzing when he found, I was very proud of him🥰😍

Yesterday I had fun following a Tracey Evans workshop, this card is one of about 14 in the workshop, I loved the bright colours and the spring flowers on this one.  I stamped the hexagonal stamp onto white card, then lined up and stamped again, I then went in to the colouring,  I used squeezed Lemonade & Fossilised Amber for the flower and the hexagons then  Peeled paint & Twisted Citron for the Daffodil leaves.  I stamped the flower in Peeled paint (leaves) Fossilised Amber for the petals, I chose these colours to give the effect of 'no line stamping' I then fussy cut the Daffodil out.  The most time consuming part was colouring the hexagons, trying to blend the colours neatly 🤷‍♀️ It is therapeutic though.

After colouring was complete it was time to put everything together.  In the workshop Tracey used 'Sisal Nest', I couldn't find mine so I used some orange cotton to add a little texture. I added it to the back of the flower, sandwiched between foam pads.

To finish the card I added some yellow and white splatters,  the added the sentiment and did some shading.  Finally I matted the piece onto a black card and then onto a white card base.

Maria, I sm going through some Tracey Evans Workshops that I bought a couple of years ago, you have access to them forever. XXX

I hope that you all have a great day,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra xxx

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

Welcome to the start of a new week, yesterday was a stark contrast to Saturday weather wise, we had heavy rain and really strong wind all day, it was really dark and miserable.

I spent most of the day at my desk doing some stamping and colouring,  I came to realise I just don't think I have the patience to slowly blend the colours, I was watching Tracey Evans colouring a background yesterday and the repitition got a bit tedious,  however the results were incredible (hers not mine)! I mean it makes sense, adding each colour, blending with the last colour,  then the next colour etc.  I am going to try it, make myself sit and do every step ...watch this space!!

Today I am sharing the other cute kitty Thrinchie, these colours are Prize Ribbon & Vintage Photo, which I smooshed into the background.   I used a different cat to sit on the key and added the tiny kitty facing the opposite direction so that the two Thrinchies work together.  A few dots and dashes of white and then some splatters and a black mat finish the Thrinchie.

I am really loving making these little pieces of art 🥰

I hope that you all have a good start to the week,

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra xxx

Let's look at what you have been making

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

Oh how lucky were we yesterday with that glorious weather,  it was like a loved Spring day, Paul was in the garden doing jobs all day.  I wanted to be out there as well but it is still too wet and slippery out there for me, it's so frustrating but I can't chance anything getting broken before Becca's wedding,  or at anytime really 😂

I was like Karen and had a bit of a lazy day, I did manage a couple of housework jobs and then tidied my desk and surrounding area AGAIN ! 😅                While tidying my Aall&Create stamps it got me to thinking about the Workshops I had subscribed to as far back as the pandemic!  I haven't done quite a few of them, so I sat and looked at a couple, I find it easier to watch them through first, that way I know what I will need and can prepare ahead.  I might sit and do one if them today.

Your makes this week

Lilian

Lilian's Description:

Here are my thrinchies for this week, patt paper for the background, the new floral stamps and some rub on butterflies.
A bit of silver stitching down the side.

Lilian your Thrinchies are stunning,  your stamping works so well it looks like its part of the patterned paper.  The colours you have stamped in blend in perfectly.   The stitched detail adds another texture and more interest.  I am definitely going to have a go at stitching.

Thank you so much for taking part and for the inspiration XXX

Maria

Maria's Description:

Here are two of my thrinchies for this week.  I've used some pixie powders in green and blue to make the background.  Stamped with some  stamps from various places and magazines and on one I stamped and cut out the flower to leave laying on top.  I used a wide brush to splatter some white paint over ,  it even went all over my t-shirt 😊

Brilliant idea using Pixie powders,  you get sparkle then as well as the lovely colour.  The stamps you have used are perfect and have so much detail.  I love the added die cut flower, it adds some 3D interest and finishes your Thrinchie perfectly.

Thank you so much for two lovely,  inspirational Thrinchies my lovely XXX

Karen

Karen has created two amazing Thrinchies, the first one has that beautifully coloured Iris,  the colouring is beautiful, I love how you have created the light and shade on the Iris, it really does look incredible Karen ❤️.   'Happiness '  is the perfect sentiment.  The page it's adhered to Karen creating by blending Blueprint Sketch and Shaded Lilac and then added some water splatters.  The colours created by combining the two colours really enhance the pink in the Iris.

The second Thrinchie has more pastel shades,  the Heart stencil looks like an Aall&Create one,  I love the simplicity of this Thrinchie,  although the background has some incredible detail.  Once again the flower is coloured beautifully,  the shading gives dimension to that flower too. The Tim Holtz words are the perfect embellishment.

Thank you so much for inspiring us all with your amazing Thrinchies XXX

Saturday crafts

Good Saturday Morning Ladies,

We are planning to make the most of today as it's supposed to be the better of the two weather wise.  We got the food shopping out of the way yesterday afternoon,  so we have the whole weekend to enjoy, I think we will be sowing a lot of seeds today, ready for the growing season around the corner.

What do you all have planned ?

I want to share Soph & Lucy's latest craft project with you all,  Soph bought Lucy a candle making kit and some clay to create the candle holder.  I wish I could share tje hysterical laughter that was filling the house while they were creating their candle holders,  they both decided to make Cowboy Boots!   I have no idea why, they do both enjoy Country Music but they have never shared a like for cowboy boots.  Turns out a cowboy boot is quite a tricky thing to create in clay !

This is Soph's Cowboy boot,  with the candle poured in and set.

This is Lucy's boot, she decided to for cow print for her boot.  I have to say that the scent she chose for it smells divine.

I love them both and more than that I love the joy they had creating them.

I hope that you all have a lovely weekend,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra xxx

Cute Kitty Thrinchie (1)

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

Woohoo its Friday !!  Do you know that this is the last actual weekend in February?  It barely seems a week since the girls birthday and that was the 4th!!  Let's hope as February fades the weather warms up.

Karen I imagine you went to bed exhausted yesterday but with the biggest smile on your face, I know you had a lovely day with your little whirlwinds xxx😊

I had a day out with the girls yesterday,  they needed some things from Ikea so off we went, now I have lost touch with 'term times' but oh boy was I reminded when we got into Ikea!   It was packed !! So many children running riot around the little settings, it was wild, we couldn't get near the restaurant,  I have never seen it that busy  even on a weekend.  We got what we needed in the end,  although we didn't get home until after 5pm,  because the girls were buying some furniture bits we didn't take my wheelchair,  just my cushion, we used one of theirs,  the placement of the foot plates meant my knees were uncomfortable,  so I was really feeling it after a couple of hours,   but like Karen accepts exhaustion for having the lovely time with her boys, I can cope with painful knees for the pleasure of spending the day with my girls,  we do have fun wherever we go.   I have a quiet start to today though as Paul and Lucy are at work and Soph is at Lewis's,  so my craft desk is calling, mind you my legs will thank me for a slow start 🤣

Today's Thrinchie I made on Wednesday,  my goodness I love these little cat stamps.  The colour theme here is Prize Ribbon & Vintage Photo distress oxides.  I stamped the key and cats and then spritzed the card and started dipping it into Vintage Photo and Prize Ribbon smooshed inks that I had spritzed also, I dipped them into one colour at a time drying in-between, building up the detail until you are happy.  I added the little hearts and some bits of white detail,  ink splatters and a black mat finish the Thrinchie.

I hope that you all have a good end to the week,

Love & hugs to all,

Sandra xxx

Part 2 of Light Bulb moment

Good Thursday Morning Ladies,

I hope today finds you well,  gentle hugs from thos4 of you that are feeling under the weather 🫂

We had another sunny but chilly day yesterday,  Soph said that the Wildlife park was super busy, it's school holidays here and a nice sunny day so that's why it was busy I guess.

Ooh I must update you on the Sourdough cookies,  they are so delicious,  they come out of the oven soft but as they start to cool down they go crispy on the outside and stay soft in the centre, there is no greater pleasure than a cookie warm from the oven.

Today I am sharing the second of the lightbulb Thrinchies.

This one used the same colours as yesterday's but these  lightbulbs were coloured with Ecoline pens, in orange l, pink and red.  Some were stamped straight on the Thrinchie  some were stamped and fussy cut.  I used a background stamp then added the lightbulbs around it   I added the strings with a fine tip pen.  I stamped the sentiment onto an off cut of white card and cut around it adhered to the Thrinchie then added a little shading.

I hope that you have a good Thursday,

Love & hugs to all of you,

Light bulb moment Thrinchie

Good Wednesday Morning Ladies,

We were blessed with a gloriously sunny day yesterday, still very chilly but my goodness that sunshine makes such a difference to your mood, we went round opening windows to let the fresh crisp air in, mind you by around 3pm I had to get Paul go round and close them all as it got quite chilly when that sun went down,  isn't it lovely to have it light until around 5.30pm, you feel like you get an extra hour added on to your day.

I was home alone 😔 yesterday so I just sat and kept busy crafting,  I made another 3 Thrinchies, If you could see my desk you'd think I'd made 50, the amount of stuff I had out,  mostly stamp sets, where I am trying different things to substitute stamps I haven't got .  On this Thrinchie I substituted a leaf sprig that Tracey used for the little leaf stamp above the light bulb,  it worked perfectly in my opinion, it was purely to give something for the light bulb to 'hang' from.

The colour theme for this Thrinchie is Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade & Candied Apple Distress Oxide inks, with a little Lumberjack Plaid to add some depth of colour on the left side.

I inked the bulb stamp with the three inks above, using only a light touch of the Candied Apple as its quite strong, I gave it a light spritz with water and stamped it straight onto my Thrinchie,  then gave another quick spritz to get those colours oxidised. I took some of the inks and a paintbrush and added a bit more colour,  adding a little Lumberjack Plaid to the very edge of the lightbulb to define it a little.  I took the Pheasant stamp and inked in black and popped him in the bottom corner, next came a bit of background stamping in grey ink (so that it stays in the background)  I added the 'Original' sentiment because it actually is an Original! 🤣  a few ink splatters and a black mat to finish the piece.

It's partner will follow tomorrow

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Love & hugs to all of you,

Kitty Thrinchie part 2

Good Morning Ladies,

I had a very messy craft day yesterday, my fingers are still a bit blue from the inking!  It was fun though, I wont say that my results were perfect but I enjoyed the process.  The thing is when you are following a tutorial you aim to get similar results but when it comes inking and watercolour you will never replicate the original exactly,  which can seem frustrating but you have to get your head around the fact that its 'your interpretation ' of the original.  Like these two Thrinchies for example,  they are my version of Tracey Evans examples,  I had to improvise with some of the stamps.  It's fun going through all of stamps that Tracey has designed for Aall&Create trying to find something that would work, it also highlights how many sets you haven't used 🙄😌

Karen, I definitely had that same feeling with my last glasses, it took me a while to get used to them, I'm ok with them now though, I think you have to be happy with them for the money you pay.  I did end up going back 3 times for them opticians to adjust them though. XXX

Today's Thrinchie is the partner to yesterday's, for this one I used the outer part of the tag stencil (the bit the tag pops out of).  I dragged the ink pads lightly over the stencil, only very lightly with the Salty Ocean as its quite dark,  I then spritzed it with water so the inks blend together.  I dried it and then made a paper mask so that I could stamp the ferns around the edges of tag like yesterdays Thrinchie,  I used some little beaded stems to add more interest and stamped the little kitty 😺 in the middle of the ferns.  I didn't have the flower stem that Tracey used in her version so I substituted the leaf, stamping and colouring  in the same colours as the background.  Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio & Salty Ocean. I added some tiny dots of yellow, white & blue posca pen, but they don't really show up on camera.  Some white splatters and a black mat finish the Thrinchie.

I hope that you all have a great Tuesday,

Love & hugs to all,

Sandra xxx

My latest Thrinchies part 1

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

Let's all keep our fingers crossed that today can be the start of the weather getting warmer,  yesterday afternoon we popped to the garden centre and it was only 2°, I know its February but my body is ready for some warmer weather, even if it's only just in double digits!! 🤣

Sourdough 'Do-Lene' update:  we now have a daily jar of 'Discard' which is the bit that you take out of the main Sourdough starter to make room for the flour you feed it with each day.  So Siph decided yesterday that she wanted to make Sourdough Cookies with some of the discard, we added browned butter, sugar, eggs and chocolate chips, my girls are not tidy bakers, my kitchen looked like a bomb site,  anyway I was excited to try one of these cookies,  but oh no, with all things Sourdough there is a wait involved,  the cookie dough had to go in the fridge for 24hrs 😌🙄!!

While I was chatting to Sonia later yesterday I said it reminded me of Friendship Cake, did any of you take part in them years ago, you share a part of your cake batter with a friend then feed it and use some to make a cake and pass some on etc it made a lovely fruit cake.

Today I am sharing the first of my latest pair of Thrinchies,  the colour theme of this pair is Cracked Pistachio,  Twisted Citron & Salty Ocean.  The background started with me adding bits of each of the inks to a tag stencil, spritzed with water and then smooshed down onto my Thrinchie, I dried the ink the spritzed with water to add some interest and dried again.  I then cut a paper mask to go around the tag outline, so that I could stamp without the thickness of a stencil making it impossible to ink up to the edge. I then took a fern stamp and used all three inks to add interest to the sides of the tag, I then added some background stamping in Salty Ocean.  The main reason for this Thrinchie is that darling little cat stamp, I added him and then stamped the tag and added the 'C' for Cat.  I tried to add shading to make the tag look 3D but I'm rubbish at getting that right ! But I try 🤣     I   coloured and fussy cut a flower to add to the tag,  then came the obligatory white splatters.  I added a black mat, ready to add to a journal.  Now onto it's pair, which I will share with you tomorrow.   Hopefully while eating one of those Chocolate chip cookies 🍪 😋 😉

I hope you all have a great start to the week,

Love & hugs

This week's Crafts

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

I have my fingers crossed that today is not going to be another rainy, cold day ! 🤞  We had to do the dreaded food shopping yesterday and popped into Witney,  it was so cold and wet and after we got home it took me hours to get warm, I am ready for some Spring sunshine now.

Today will be really relaxing as there will be no roast dinner this evening as the girls are going out to have a belated birthday meal with a friend,  so Paul and I are going to have the other half of the Indian takeaway we had on Friday night, I can never eat a full portion of curry, so we order an extra rice (as we share 1 portion between us) then we get two meals for the price of one,  well I say price of one,  have your takeaways all gone up a lot,  we didn't have loads of sides an extras but it came to £52 !!! Just for Paul and I, it was nice though.

Let's see what you have been making this week...

Lilian

Lilian's Description:

These are my thrinchies for this week.

I used my Lavinia stamps, that I’ve had but not used.

Oxide inks ,faded jeans, speckled egg, and a pink, whose name escapes me. Not sure where the stencil came from, maybe a bundle from amazon.

Wow Lilian your Thrinchies are amazing,  your backgrounds are so detailed, the colours of your vases really pop against the background.  I love the little numbers too.  You have a clever way of displaying them across one page, thats a great idea.

Thank you so much for taking part my lovely XXX

Karen

Karen's Description:

A very quick and simple card created on Serif So
Patterned paper - Floral - Bold sentiment

Oh Karen that background is so pretty, the colours are so pretty against the blue background.  I love the font of the sentiment too.

Thank you so much for supporting the challenge XXX

Maria

Maria's Description:

I've been playing with this little 3 x 3 and these are the two that didn't go in the bin.
They are just made with TH ink pads and some new stamps bought from Amazon but came orig. from China. I don't have any words for them but probably would be " howling at the full moon and Spring".   Hope they are ok.....

Wow Maria your Thrinchies are amazing, your backgrounds are so lovely,  I want to point out a few things...firstly the shading that grounds your wolf,  BRILLIANT, it's perfectly positioned and seemlessly blended in, so amazing!!  Secondly the way that you have inked the top Thrinchie makes it look like there is actually light shining through the canvas highlighting the silhouettes!!  Again its absolutely BRILLIANT!!

I am so blown away,  thank you so much for pushing yourself to have a go, PLEASE keep going, you are a natural Thrinchie'ist !!!! XXX

I hope that you all have a lovely relaxing Sunday,

Saturday Crafts

Good Saturday Morning Ladies,

It didn't get above 2° here all day yesterday,  I was feeling really tired so not sure if that contributed to me feeling cold.  I was up in the night checking on 'Do-Lene' (Sophie's Sourdough bread), she had done the 1/2 hourly stretch and turns,  it had to do a 'Bulk Prove' next,  she was going to Lewis's so asked if I would do the all important 'lamination fold' when the dough looked like it had doubled in size and had the beginnings of bubbles on the surface, well I checked it at 10pm, before I went up to bed, nothing had changed, so up I went, I got Paul to bring it up for me to check a couple of times but it wasn't until I got up to use bathroom at 5.45am and thought I had better check it, that it was ready, so at 6am I was stretching and folding 'Do-Lene ' to create the laminations,  then I had to put it in the proofing basket and pop it in the fridge for its cold proving,  this takes up to 12 hours,  the longer you leave it the more developed the sourdough taste is.

We left it until around 1pm, Soph couldn't wait any longer, we took my huge lecreuset dish or dutch oven and popped it in the hot Aga to heat up and then we popped bread in, lid on, in oven for 20 mins, then lid off for another, it was torture waiting for it to cool down enough to cut. It was deliscious, not sure if I could be bothered doing it (well supporting Soph doing it 🙄) multiple times a week.

Meet ..Do (Dough) Lene !!!

Now I sat and made some backgrounds yesterday,  to cut up and  use for my Thrinchies.....

I needed to create some ready made backgrounds so I had them ready for thrinchies, so I put together 3 groups of inks.  I took out my craft sheet as the ink just doesn't bead up on glass mat and i love those little beads of ink that create so much detail and texture on your backgrounds.    I smooshed the strips of card in the inks and dried the piece after each dip/smoosh, it really does make a difference,  even if it is a faff !!

The first piece I used Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade & Candied Apple

The second I used Salty Ocean,  Twisted Citron & Cracked Pistachio

The third I used Faded Jeans, Cracked Pistachio & Peeled Paint

To add more interest I spritzed a stencil with water, wiped around the edges of the stencil so you don't get lines on your background, lay stencil on, wet side down and leave it a minute or two, you can use a piece of kitchen towel to press lightly,  the longer you leave it the more the water bleaches out the ink. I dried it off after and next I will add some more detail, stamping,  texture paste etc.

I hope that you all have a lovely Saturday,

Love & hugs to all,

Sandra xxx

A Card for My Valentine...

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

Woohoo!  It's the weekend and we don't have to go anywhere!!  I love a lazy weekend,  although they are rarely 'lazy' !  Paul will busy himself in the gatden, depending on the weather,  bless him he probably prays for dry weather so that I don't find him things to do in the house! 🤣😂

Today I am sharing the card I made for Paul for Valentines day, I used a new stamp and die set that I have had for a weeks, I earnt it as a free gift when I bought all the card for Becca's wedding invitations. The set is called 'Heart Shaped'

I stamped the heart wreath on the front panel twice, 1 a little higher than the other and overlapped them slightly, I added white embossing powder and heat set.  I then took Balmy Blue ink and blended around the white stamped heart and after allowing it to dry and wiped over the embossed area where it had resisted the ink. This gave a soft haze of blue making those hearts pop.

I die cut two of the heart Wreaths in darker blue and layered them up, I glued it over one of the hearts.  I layered the front panel onto a mat of the darker blue and then onto a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch card base.

To finish I added the sentiment, stamped and embossed in white on Soft grey card and die cut.  To finish I added a little bow.

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra xxx

Thrinchie pt 2

Good Morning Ladies,

I can't believe its Thursday already, the girls days off have been all over the place this week, so I have lost track of whether its Tuesday or Saturday!  Soph is off today and we are planning on making some bread, she started a Sourdough starter early last week and its been very active and is raring to go! She has a long list of things she wants to make, bread, Bagels,  pretzels just for starters!   Have any of you made Sourdough bread ??  I love when tje girls or Matt are really enthusiastic about things,  you can't help but be excited with them.

Today's Thrinchie is the matching pair to yesterday's,  in that is made using the same colours,  Wilted Violet & Cracked Pistachio.  I didn't have the stamps used in the original so I had to improvise,  it adds to the fun though and gets you using all of your stamps.

I haven't stuck the Thrinchies to the black mat which is why it looks like they aren't aligned properly.  The idea of having a 'matching ' oe similar looking pair is because they will be on facing pages in a book, so having them matching in some way is pleasing to the eye.

In making these littke squares of artwork you are creating little pieces of inspiration,  whether its for the colour combination or the techniques used or the combination of stamps.  They are fun little pieces to create,  some,  like today's are quite quick to make, other's like yesterday's have lots of layers and take longer.

I hope that some of you have a go at making some of these or the Snippets, I think you'll enjoy them and it may just boost your mojo !

Have a great Thursday my lovelies,

Love & hugs to all of you,

Sandra xxx

More Thrinchie Fun

Good Wednesday Morning Ladies,

Well we had another wet and chilly day yesterday,  the girls and I popped to Coop in Bourton and it took me a good couple of hours to warm up!  I was sat at my desk chuckling to myself as the girls had bought each other candle making kits that included the clay to make the candle holder,  they both decided to make a cowboy boot, listening to them overcome many disasters,  they were crying with laughter at one point!

I sat and made a couple more Thrinchies, I think I will go between Thrinchie & Snippets just to get some different techniques in.

This is one of a pair of Thrinchie,  the colour is what links them, both are made with Cracked Pistachio and Wilted violet Distress Oxide inks, on this one I blended the inks through the Bird Stencil, keeping the Wilted Violet to the edges.  When it was almost dry I went in and added some background stamping, mostly in Cracked Pistachio, a little in Wilted Violet at the front of the bird,  I stamped the flower in Black and the 'Fearless ' sentiment too. The finishing touches are White ink splats and adding to a black mat.  I will share its partner tomorrow!

Have a lovely Wednesday,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra xxx
