Another Christmas Challenge card.

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope today finds you all well, those of you that aren't feeling 100% I am sending gentle hugs your way. 🤗

I managed to get hold of the 'Muskat' Clinic (musculoskeletal clinic) to ask why they didn't call Tuesday 08 15am, they said that they did !! (They didn't), I said that I was sat with my mobile,  house phone and laptop and heard nothing, she said that they 'withhold their number' so my house phone 'probably didn't accept' their call!  I was so cross, because I was awake half the night stressing about the video consultation! I replied with "so I can receive calls from down town Kolkata in India, telling me that my Internet is going to be cut off or someone has used my Amazon account ' but my phone won't accept an NHS call??!! She didn't know what to say, she then said she'd look for another appointment, asked me if i was ok as i was heavy breathing!! I explained that stress exacerbates my heart condition,  so could she call me back with appointment,  which she did, 5 minutes later,  I answered and said 'oh it accepted the call ok' she went on to explain that they hadn't got any appointments at the moment,  so have put me on the waiting list !!  I honestly think that they had no intention of calling me on Tuesday,  by keep offering appointments and cancelling it looks on paper like you are being seen so statistically you aren't being kept waiting,  very sneaky and very bloody annoying!!

Now on today's card, I have to say that I am relieved to actually get a card made for the first time since 16th of August,  I have been coming into my craft room but can't concentrate as there are so many reminders if my lovely friend in here and it just hurts. I am ok when Paul is in here with me as we obviously chat while we are both doing our thing.  Anyway I actually got a card made which is a step in the right direction!!

I used the SU Tidings & Trimmings Stamp & Die set, the paper is from the same collection, its in lovely shades of green with a pop of Cherry Cobbler!  I used a new green card called 'Evening Evergreen' which is a lovely deep dark green for my base card,  I stamped some of the foliage sprigs onto the base card in matching ink for a bit more detail,  I did cut some matching foliage and added that too and then placed a raised mat of the Dsp on top, I stamped and die cut the Stockings and Ribbon and stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler onto a piece of super smooth card, I adhered the Stockings to the white mat and topped with die cut bow. For extra texture I added a piece of Evening Evergreen plaited ribbon and placed the top layer slightly over it.  I quite like the card, I love the pattern on the Stockings too.  The card was totally inspired by a Catalogue inspiration but you got to start somewhere when you're on a rut !!

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs to a of you,

Sandra                                                                              xxxxxx

  1. Morning Everyone
    I love today's card SANDRA.

I can really sympathise with you re promised calls not arriving. I really hope that an appointment arrives quickly.

My programme for today is to get my CCs photographed and sent off and then tidy my craft desk which at the moment I cannot see for papers/tape/glue etc etc. I usually try and put things away but this week has turned out to be a really messy one.

The CAFE is of course very tidy and open to all.
HUGS are on their way to you all. PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxx

  2. Very pretty card I still have to start my cc for this week I have been wrapped up in doing another Jo Rice inspired card and I have to do a wedding card We’ve also been bowling etc and we’re going to OH’s sister for lunch today
Don’t know if this will help but maybe pack up in a pretty box all of the things that remind you of Danielle except for one or two That way they’re not all over the room and then after a month or two you can get them out, shed a tear and rotate them
Appointments for NHS are in crisis and I think you’re right They offer appointments that never materialise to keep their figures down
    Take care ladies xxx

  3. Hi everyone
Love your card today, very pretty 😊
Sorry to hear about your troubles with the clinic. I agree, they seem to be offering appointments or sending out letters to show patients have been contacted to keep figures down. It’s so frustrating for anyone waiting!
It’s our last day here today so we’re just going to have a lazy day. It’s drizzling at the moment but looks to be brightening up. We’re going to plan our journey home for tomorrow, stopping off in Hay on Wye and Ross on Wye. We have to be out by 9am, so are going to make the most of the day.
Have a good day everyone. Sending hugs to you all xxx

  4. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. Love all of your Christmas cards you have made this week. Very pretty and I love the unusual pattern in the stockings. It will get easier to craft on your own but just carryon chatting to Danielle as you normally would as no doubt she is watching over and answering you. I think Karen’s idea of keeping one or two things of Danielles out so you are not faced with everything all of the time and swapping them every now and then is a good one. I would have been furious too either the lack of phone appointment. As you said it just makes the numbers on paper look good. I do hope you get to see/ talk to someone very soon my lovely xx
We’ve had a couple of busy days but Mum us feeling a bit better today.
Son it a, sorry for the belated anniversary wishes. It sounds like you have had a lovely time away xx
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx

  6. Hello Misty rain here today.

Sandra another very trendy Christmas card, as the others have said, the pattern on the socks is great.

Finished all my ironing today so ready to craft tomorrow, table cleared ready, for a change have a few ideas.

Looks as though summer is over, apparently it’s going to get colder at the weekend, and the evenings are certainly getting dark early, I hate dark evenings.

    See you tomorrow, hugs Lilian
