My third TicTacToe Challenge card

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope that you all had some of the gorgeous sunshine 🌞 that we were blessed with yesterday.  It was so lovely that Paul decided to halt work for a couple of hours and get some gardening in, so it would have been rude for me not to join him!! 😜   I will say that the jobs seem endless at the moment.

Do any of you have any tips for feeding the little garden birds without having the flipping crows coming in and stealing all the mealworms and suet blocks, the little Robins and Blue tits etc are too scared to go anywhere near the bird feeder, we changed the feeder with the worms in to make it harder to the crows but the just lift the whole feeder off and let it drop and as lid falls off they dive in on the grass!  There seem to be so many at the moment, you can see them all nesting in the wooded areas around the farm.

Today's card was a bit of a late night craft project but I thoroughly enjoyed making it.  I started by creating the Watercolour Wash background,  I used a really strong colour from Stampin'Up! Called 'Pretty Peacock ', I added water to the and then decided that a fancied a bit of sparkle so I added some of the ink from my Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to the ink and washed over the watercolour card.

See how sparkly that looks!!

My card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest by a lady in New Zealand called Karen. I changed mine because I added die cuts and ribbon and sentiment etc. I used one of my new stamp sets called Forever Fern, it has so many lovely leaves and ferns!

After creating my background I stamped one of the leaves in Pear Pizazz, the other two I stamped directly onto background but didn't like how they looked so I stamped them again and die cut them and added foam pads to the back, I used Garden Green and Pretty Peacock to stamp those leaves and placed them over the ones I stamped.   To finish the card I added a ribbon border cut with my 'Fauxgrain Ribbon ' die, using Pretty Peacock card. I stamped my Julie Hickey sentiment and popped over my ribbon and added a few clear crystals that I coloured with Pretty Peacock alcohol marker.

I hope you like my card, if you could see my desk it would show how much fun I had !! 🤣😂

Have a lovely day Ladies,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra                                                                              xxxxxx

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-what a gorgeous card, love the delicate colours on the background.

Yesterday was a long & tiring day-late finish in the clinic meant a late lunch. Busy afternoon then straight on to the hairdressers. I was shattered and hubby wasn’t feeling 100 percent-he’d had his second vaccine on Monday and was fine then but not yesterday so we had an early night .

  4. Morning everyone, hoping you all have woken to another beautiful day.
Gorgeous card Sandra, love the shine on the background.
Michele-hope the work is not too bad for you today and your husband soon feeling better. Mine has come down with sort of a cold, not sure if it's from his second one. Everyone seem to react differently to them all.
It was hubby's birthday yesterday so we had a take out and in the morning it came a big box sent from P.Vallerie with 10,yes 10 slices of cakes.Thankfully they were frozen so half have gone in the freezer. It was no note or anything but we found out in the end that it was my step-son who had sent them for his dad, so naughty but very nice. :>)
Didn't get much sleep last night so very tired and a bit out. Waiting in for the shopping to come and then hopefully we can go for a walk as it is so nice but still a bit chilly. Difficult tho to know what to wear this time of year.
Have a nice day everyone and many hugs are sent for you all, extras for our Lynda, Margaret and Lilian, hoping your back soon are better. xx

  5. Hello All, sunny but very cold, had our coffee outside in the sun, had to have my fleece, still lovely to be outside.

Sandra your watercolour background are lovely, love yesterday and today’s stamps.

Had our 2nd jab yesterday, have a bit of upset stomach again and my arm is really sore, so not much crafting today.

Still waiting for the info from cardiology, re change of prescription. Been more than a month, call drs but they really couldn’t care less, too busy with vaccinations.

Have a good day, enjoy the sunshine, Lilian

  6. Hi Sandra & ladies
Lovely CC cards that you’ve done Sandra.
No sign of my 2nd vaccine being done yet. It’s due by next week. I’m getting a bit paranoid now I think ( although I don’t really do paranoia generally ), after seeing the problem that Brenda had. A friend who had her 1st jab had her 2nd three weeks ago. a week before me had hers 3 weeks ago. So I’ll probably have to ring the surgery and see who I need to contact. That’s if they know.
A lovely sunny day here both yesterday and today. I’ve been for a walk but not far.
Take care and stay safe everyone.

  7. Hi everyone
Beautiful card and I love the sparkly background.
Another lovely sunny day here, but starting to cloud over now.
Back to work tomorrow, why does your time off go so quickly? Not really done much, but it’s been very relaxing.
Mark was notified yesterday to book his first covid jab, so he’s booked that for next week, so that’s good.
Have a good day everyone. Sending hugs to you all xxx

  8. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. I love all elements of today’s card. Great colours and a wonderful sparkle. A perfect one for the men too. Did you get out in the garden again today my lovely? It is so nice to have sunshine again isn’t it xx
Lilian, I hope you and R don’t suffer any more after your second jab and that your back is a bit better each day xx
Karen, do you have any more work to be done in the garden or is it just planting etc? Roll on a lovely long summer so that you can enjoy it 🙂xx
It’s nice to hear that several of you have had or are booked for haircuts. Gem had hers done this afternoon and she was so happy to be able to go to the gym to get back to weight lifting which she loves. Both Chris and I have colds and sore throats so we have had a lazy day today. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Mum and all in need. Take care xx
