Good Morning Ladies,
Sophie has asked me to thank you all for your lovely comments and for visiting her website yesterday. she was overwhelmed by your kindness.
I had a lovely day yesterday, it started with a call from Danielle that lasted for over 3 hours, the time just flies when we chat, I honestly thought that it was going to be about 11am when we finished but it was Sue's arrival that made me realise it was way after 12pm! Time flies when you are having fun!
I fancied something different for todays card and I can't help using this gorgeous tree stamp from the Stampin'Up! 'Snow Is Glistening' stamp set (it's gorgeous)!! So I stamped it onto 'Mint Macaron' card using Versamark ink and adding White Embossing powder. I heat set it and added a few crystal sparkle gems that I have added a little Mint Macaron ink to. I cut it out with my trimmer and added foam pads to the back. My base card is Whisper White cut at 41/8 by 51/2 inch, I mounted a piece of Soft Seafoam Dsp onto my card base, I chose the colour to go with my Pastel theme, I kind of like these soft tones together.
I stamped my sentiment (from the same stamp set) onto vellum and mounted it on the bar of striped Soft Sea Foam dsp that I have put across the bottom of my card, the camera wouldn't pick it up because of the reflection of the embossing, it says: 'Sending a Blizzard of Wishes for a Wonderful Season'
I have to say that I would have really kicked myself if I had not bought that 'Snow Is Glistening Bundle, not just because of the stamps, the dies have the largest range of Snowflakes I have ever seen and some of them have an Inner and Outer so that you can layer them, a lot of thought has gone into this set and it won't date so I can pull it our year after year.

After such a fun packed day yesterday I think that today is going to be rather dull by comparison!
I will be mostly in my craft room, playing with some new goodies and finishing off some Christmas cards, the only frustration with handmade cards is (for me) that they aren't standard sizes, a lot times I start with focal element and work outwards, I try to keep in mind the size I am going for but it often goes over one way or another, but thats what I have an Envelope Punch Board for!
Lilian, I do hope that you are well, I know I am a worrier! Sending you huge squishy hugs xxxx
Pat, I hope you are 'hanging in there' it must be both physically and mentally demanding for you right now, I am always at the end of the phone for you my lovely xxxx
Val I do hope that your sciatica has eased a little today, I suffer with it on both sides now and it is the worst most excruciating pain and it just hits you when you least expect it, I am yet to find anything that touches the pain and I take some very hefty pain meds. Sending you gentle hugs sweetheart xxxx
Sending love and hugs to everyone of you,
Sandra

Morning Ladies
ReplyDeleteSandra-what a gorgeous card, I’m not normally a fan of green but I love the colour you have used.
Busy day yesterday at work & I did the Tesco shopping yesterday as hubby was traveling back late last night so it keeps tonight free, probably for me to make Christmas cards!
Michele
Morning everyone,
ReplyDeleteLovely pastel greens for your card Sandra. A very calming colour.
Tuesday was a very tiring day, Fiona picked me early so that we could collect two gorgeous little wooden carts in sugared almond colours of pink and white. I said little but when we got to the seller's house they were bigger than expected and will be filled with all the little Amigurumi animals my sister crochets for my stalls.
We then went onto Taunton where we partook of a tasty and filling full English breakfast at County stores. Then we hit the charity shops and visited a new store called Bargain Buys (trading as an off shoot of Poundstretcher) where we found many, many stocking filler gifts.
Then onto Musgrove for my appointment. My Consultant Mr. Abdullah was very courteous and after a couple more tests decided on a course of action which will start next year...an Echo and Angiogram first then back for the results of those. He also went through my past medical notes noting the two cancers + various operations and the checks and remedies that my doctor had already put in place, and asked me how I felt. I replied 'Well I will tell the same as I do anybody else who asks me....I am still here' to which he replied 'You have done very well to get this far considering your medical history'.
One happy bunny now nothing to worry about before Christmas. After the test are done thee will be something else to take on board.
Almost at the end of my Christmas card list of addressing the envelopes. I have been waiting since Monday (ordered 9.30am) for my printer paper 120gsm to arrive 'next day delivery' from Staples which finally arrived at 9.45am today which means the missing inserts can now be typed and printed then attached inside the cards. And posted!
However you are spending your Thursday enjoy if you are able.
Love 7 hugs
Cheryl xxx

Hi Margaret
DeleteI’m glad your exercises went well yesterday. My hand is still sore, but I need to take the bandages etc off again tomorrow to give it a wash and put some Vaseline on. My shin as well.
Hi everyone,
ReplyDeletePretty card today Sandra. I love the pretty tree you've used. Thanks for your sympathy over the sciatica. Thank goodness it's only on one side. My friend Joan in Javea suggested I lie on the floor on my back and place a hard rubbe
ball where it hurts most and press down. It is a painful procedure but trying to get up off the floor was so difficult.ha ha. Anyway it does seem a bit easier today.
My friend Gill who broke her arm a few weeks ago was having real problems writing her Christmas cards so I've done my good deed for the day and been to her house to write them. I picked the prettiest one of a cat to write for me. Back home now and Lynn has just made lunch so I think Im sitting down for the afternoon.
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.
