Your Next Challenge

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

Here we are at the end of another week, this one has dragged for me, I think that maybe it's the lack of phone calls and drama!  Not that I am complaining.  I think I went into the week feeling exhausted after having visitors last weekend, you just don't switch out of 'Host' mode do you?  We seem to go from one meal to the next with lots of cups of tea in between!
We are planning a quiet weekend, I can see that Paul is exhausted after a full week of shifts, the late shift really seems to tire him out more.
We are supposed to be going over to Mum's at some point in next couple of weeks but London & Essex have gone up to Tier 2 meaning no mixing households which would make clearing the house together a bit awkward. So not sure how we will get around that.

Your Next Challenge

As it's a little cold and dull outside and the news is just so depressing I though that we all needed a little bit of 'Sparkle & Shine' in our lives!!

So grab your glitter card, go crazy with your glitter, make wonders with your 'Mirri' card,
basically just sparkle and shine everything, all joking aside you can go for the subtle approach, which if I am honest is a bit more 'me'!
I do like to see a little sparkle on a Christmas card though!
You do something as simple as adding a few sparkling gems to your project.
I am loving my new Spray Glitter by Heide Swapp, it adds a delicate sheen over your card front.

I am so looking forward to seeing these cards my lovelies!  I really hope you enjoy the challenge.

I hope you all manage to have a nice relaxing weekend,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-great challenge fit us next week. Lots of options with that title. Your two samples are lovely.
It’s been a long week as hubby has been away for the entire week-he’s home this afternoon. I’m looking forward to the weekend not that we can do much under Tier 3 rules but we can still go for a walk and to the shops.

Hope you all have a good day, sorry to hear that the north has to shut down again , really think that perhaps it should be country wide, if we are going to get on top of this virus.( soap box away ). Hugs to all Lilian

  4. I agree Lilian re a lockdown What really annoys me is how MP’s are not following rules eg that MP from Scotland travelling on public transport and is not going to be fined and another walking down the street with 2 policemen and not 6ft apart...

2 lovely cards SANDRA Like you I prefer a subtle hint but can’t resist using a little on Christmas cards

Didn’t achieve much yesterday afternoon apart from batch cook some pancakes Yay! I have flour

I need to catch up on some sleep So definitely a nap this afternoon and then it seems too dark to card make

    Take care all xx

  5. Hi Sandra and ladies.
Nice cards and good challenge for next week.Have a quiet weekend both of you and hope Paul feel better.
Not easy to go anywhere again, I believe we should lock down everywhere again to have any chance to clear the virus but when the MP's are not follow the rules themselves...At the same time I be angry for people saying it is confusing what to do ? when staying away from folk, wear a mask and washing hands is not that difficult to do is it. Soap box gone back.
Janet- have to pop in later to see if you got a cake in the cafe', it is Son's Birthday today so we need a vegan one 😀
Karen- hope you get some catch up on your sleep and the weekend be good for you all.
Sorry Lilian if I confused you last night but sat here and did a little shop and it was too many choices was was a bit muddled.Think it was the early hours as well did not help 😴
Here it is very cold today and rain on it's way so a good day to do some crafting but this week has been no good so we have to see what will be. Chinese and film on Netflix with Son tonight, first time in ages we are in the same room together 😷
Have a nice day everyone and hugs are being sent for one and all, Maria xxx

  6. Hello Sandra and ladies,

Two great cards to help us with our next challenge. I often think more is less BUT Christmas has to be the exception! Think you will agree. Sandra I hope you and Paul manage to have a peaceful weekend. xx

MARIA wishing your son a very happy birthday, enjoy your evening together. xx

Yesterday was all bad news, had several phone calls the first one telling me a very dear friend who is been in hospital for three weeks now has been diagnosed with cancer of the ovaries. Then I rang another friend just for a chat, she really needed to talk She and her family are going through such a stressful time. All I could say is I’m an ear if you need to one. Another call telling me someone else was ill. By which time The BBC news Just went over my head.
Today I forgot I had a warfarin appointment, what a dimbo, so now have an appointment for 3pm today.

Lunch is ready, will have that and head off for my appointment.
Take care everyone and stay safe. Love Brenda xxx

  7. Hi everyone
Lovely cards, and a great challenge for next week. So sorry, but I’ve not made any cards this week so won’t be participating in this weeks challenge. Been busy with work and Barney, and really felt too tired to do any crafting.
Maria, Happy Birthday to your Son, enjoy your Chinese meal and Netflix.
Brenda, sorry to hear about the bad news phone calls.
Enjoy the rest of the day and have a good weekend everyone. Hugs to all xxx

  8. Hi Sanda & ladies
I’m not to sure what happened to today. Hope both you and Paul have a restful weekend. Jill told me last night that Essex is in a lockdown & no mixing of households. So no trips to Essex for me anytime soon by the looks of it. My Karen said that Keith was thinking he’d go and visit his Dad as he hasn’t seen him since Nov. I said REALLY as his Dad lives in Liverpool. Plus he hasn’t got a car to hand now that Livvy has passed her test. I think Karen talked him out of that. I’m sorry to hear about your friends Brenda
Take care & stay safe everyone.

  10. Hello Sandra and ladies,
JANET I love your calendar. Apologies Michele I haven’t done anything with mine yet. To many distractions lately. Thank you MICHELE for the magazine review again I haven’t really looked at my copy but have to say the die is gorgeous.

Yesterday I said my lovely friend had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, sadly she died late yesterday. I can’t explain how much of a shock it is. She was always the strong one, never ill always there to support everyone. My day today has been mostly spent calling close friends also friends we worked with and the family didn’t have phone numbers for. Quite an exhausting day, but if it helps her daughter and son I’m happy to be there for them. She has even planned her own funeral hymen’s etc. But sadly her well organised plans may not be allowed in these difficult times.
Sorry to go on ladies. It does help to have the blog as an outlet. xx

Sleep well everyone, stay safe and look after each other.
    Love and hugs, Brenda xxx
