Your Challenge Cards

Good Morning Ladies,

Bit of a weather change eh?! I can't say that I was disappointed, for two reasons really, the obvious one is that is was so much more comfortable to move around, the second reason was that the rain meant we didn't have to spend the best part of an hour watering the garden.  Hopefully our 5 water butts might start to refill too, I feel so conscious of every watering can we use, imagining that water meter whizzing round!

Let's have a look at your amazing 'Shaped' Challenge cards.........

Sonia

Such a beautiful card from Sonia, using Hexagons as her shape for this challenge, I really love those papers every time you use them Sonia.

Sonia's Description:

Here is my challenge card:
I used Sue Wilson’s Holly Octagonal Frame, cutting 3 octagons from Anna Marie Designs papers, and adhered to a strip of paper. I die cut the ‘honeycomb’ die twice and placed behind the octagons. I finished it off with a Tim Holtz butterfly and sentiment from LOTV.

Thank you so much Sonia for another of your stunning challenge cards XXX

Cheryl

A lovely modern design from Cheryl for this weeks challenge, using Rectangles to create this lovely Christmas card, I really love the colour.

Thank you so much for taking part in this weeks challenge Cheryl XXX

Michele

Michele as had a productive week in her craft room, look at these gorgeous cards, two lovely christmas cards and a pretty any occasion card. That die you bought might be an older one Michele but its beautiful!

Michele's Description:

3 challenge cards from me. First one is using up papers from a very old issue of Making Cards magazine-background paper cut into 4 squares then a Diecut circle/scalloped edge circle for the topper. Card No 2 is the Grate effects Spellbinders die cut out twice & I used the positive + negative parts. Card No 3 is an A5 card cut into a triangle with 2 colours as toppers plus a Diecut Spellbinders Christmas tree. Ribbon & a Diecut sentiment plus some bling!

Thanks so much Michele for 3 amazing challenge cards XXX

Karen

I love the style of this Challenge card that you have designed Karen, it has a real 'Tracy' feel about it, it would be lovely framed or attached to a canvas.  Such an amazing design !

Karen's Description:

Here’s a cc for you
I decided on circle
I found a piece of blueish background paper that I didn’t particularly like and did the gesso technique using Lotza Dots
I used Broken China DO and stamped background #304 - which almost matched the background I added some circle highlights
I stamped a Woodware stamp on top and coloured parts with an Inktense pencil
I found a stamp set from CraftiPotential for the sentiment

Thanks so much Karen for an amazing challenge card XXX

Janet

Janet has made an incredible 3 cards for this weeks challenge, using 2 ovals and a diamond as the challenge shape. Your first card is so pretty Janet, that paper is just beautiful, the second card has a really strong and positive statement, great for someone that has been struggling.  I love how you have die cut and rotated the focal piece for your third card, I love that colour too.

Janet's Description:

For my first and second card I used the same die. It is Phill Martins Oval die.I cut the first card making the complete shape of the card and then for my second card I used the die cutting into the front of the card. The stamping is also Phill Martin's stamps and the flowers etc are from my stash.

For my third card I used a Tonic die again cutting into the front of the card for the shape. I used the inside of the  cut away for the inside of the card. The flowers are LABLANCHE and the coloured card is TONIC

Thanks so much for three amazing challenge cards Janet XXX

Lilian

Lilian has used a stencil and inks to create that lovely background for her challenge card, she has then die cut a black scalloped circle upon which a beautiful fussy cut bouquet of roses is displayed, the flowers are from Lilian's new Stamperia collection. Adding the black mat really makes the whole card come to life Lilian.

Thank you so much for such a lovely Challenge card XXX

Maria

Maria has made two fantastic cards for us for this weeks shape challenge.  The first card uses Spellbinders Square Label die cuts to create a lovely pattern in shades of green, I love that sentiment Maria!
Maria's second card uses Circle dies to create the background for the lovely SU Happy Birthday and letters.

Thanks so much Maria for two fantastic challenge cards. XXX

  1. Morning ladies,

So many beautiful cards to brighten up Sunday, well done ladies.

At long last the end of my isolation seems to be nearly there. I may go out from the 6th July but still have to keep social distancing, masked and gloved, then on August 1st, my shielding stops.
However, judging by all the selfish hordes that have disregarded the guidelines and descended in the SW leaving their disgusting filth and litter behind I am very dubious of leaving the safety of my home. I can foresee a great many numbers contracting the C virus and we're all back to square one. I hope the NHs put their feet down firmly and tell them to stay home and treat themselves, the staff do not need another round as judging from reports they are totally exhausted.
Rant over, soap box back in the corner.

Some wonderful news to brighten my spirits came yesterday via a telephone call from my niece. Her wedding is now back on for the 12th August, which happens to be my youngest brother's birthday and my sister and BIL's Wedding Anniversary. 3 moments to celebrate and treasure together.

I hope your day is kind to you.
    Love 7 hugs
    Cheryl xxx

  2. Lovely cards ladies It was an interesting challenge I enjoyed it
What fantastic news CHERYL both the end of your isolation and your niece’s wedding plans I do agree with you about the idiots travelling around ignoring the rules and to leave their rubbish behind just adds insult to injury
I am longing to cuddle the grandchildren which from 4th July we will be able to do
I hope it stays dry enough to go for a walk but it does look like it is going to pour down any minute
Have a lovely day ladies xx

  3. Morning Ladies

What a fantastic selection of challenge cards today, all stunning.

What a difference in weather-we have gale force winds here getting up to 50mph plus rain forecast for the whole day although it’s not actually raining now.

I think once I’ve done my housework I’ll be heading up to my craft room for a play as it’s definitely not gardening weather!

  4. Morning Everyone
Sunday morning and again there's a smile on my face seeing all the wonderful CCs.

Our trip to M&S foodhall went smoothly although I was still a little jittery. By going before 08.30 the number of shoppers was low and people were really good keeping their distance as much as possible. We were back home well before 10.00.

Nothing is planned for today but I'm sure something will turn up. The weather has really changed. We have quite a strong wind -The roses and evening primroses are really getting a battering at the front of the house.

The CAFE is open as usual hours and today's menu is roast chicken with mixed salad and I'm not sure what 'afters' are at the moment; it all depends on what I see when I open the cupboard lol.
HUGS are on their way to you all. Have a good day; TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFExxxx

    1. Chicken & salad sounds lovely Janet.
My neighbour dropped me off some sweet peas that he’d picked off of his allotment as they were getting bashed about yesterday in the rain.

  5. Hi Sandra & ladies
Fantastic shaped cards on show here today. We also had lots of rain yesterday. Torrential at times and as fast as it came it went. At least I only had the greenhouse to water last night. Sunny & windy here at the moment but we are supposed to have rain today at some point. Amy’s birthday tomorrow, she’ll be 24, my how the time flies. We’re supposed to go over to hers on Saturday as she’s going to do a barbecue weather permitting. If not hopefully on Sunday. I’m hoping we all don’t go into lockdown after all the idiots on the beaches. What an example all those parents set for their children. Just dump all your rubbish wherever you like. We were always taught to take your rubbish home with you, and passed that on to ours.

  6. Hi Sandra and ladies.
Fabulous cards on show today. I love them all. 👍
Hopefully things will get better but if some eejit's can't behave and to see all the rubbish they left. Omg that was awful.😠 We were always told to take our rubbish home after a picnic or being to the beach. Sad even seeing the litter where we live when people out walking and just drop it where they are.
Good to see you Cheryl, hope you can go out and meet up with family soon and Karen, how wonderful to soon be able to hug the grandchildren again. The same for all of you who have some grandchildren as it must feel like forever.
Wet t-shirt competition this mornings walk ☺ luckily we were soon on our way back and the strong wind made it near dry before we got home.
Have a nice Sunday everyone and I'll see you for chicken and salad later. Wonder what our Janet do for pudding ?, think I need one today as been trying all week to be good....
    hugs to you all xxx
