My First Festive TicTacToe Challenge card

Good Morning Ladies,

Before I start the blog I would like to wish my Beautiful Daughter Becca a Very Happy 26th Birthday, I can hardly believe that she is 26!  I hope that Adam treats you to an amazing day out and we look forward to seeing you later. XXXXXX

I hope that you all had a lovely weekend ladies, we were treated to a very warm and 'muggy' day yesterday, a little cloudy in the morning, even a few spots of rain, at one point the sky  was as dark as night and I thought that we were going to be treated to storm to clear the air, it never came, the clouds cleared away towards the middle of the afternoon to make way for glorious ☀ Sunshine.
In fact we made a Paella for dinner that we ate outside with a chilled glass of Sangria, a perfect end to a lovely day.

Today's card is my first Festive TicTacToe Challenge card for this week, I chose Categories: Blue/Dry Emboss/Snow (straight across the top).
I started by cutting a piece of white card to 4 1/4 X 5 1/2, I then took the Fir tree stamp from SU Winter Woods stamp set and stamped it with Tumbled Glass Distress ink, I was glad that I used my Stamping tool as I had to do 3 layers of ink. I then used the matching die to cut the tree out of the background. (because I didn't want the embossed snow to cover the tree).  I set that aside and then run the background through the machine with SU Snowfall Embossing folder. I cut a card base slightly longer than my original piece of card so that I could a little touch of the blue I used to stamp the tree along the bottom of the background. I created the blue piece by blending some of the Tumbled Glass DI onto an off cut of card and I adhered it to the back of the background piece leaving about half an inch showing, it looked better with it as the sentiment would have looked odd right at the very bottom of the card.
The sentiment stamp was from SU 'Merry Christmas to all' stamp set, I stamped it in the same blue, I will confess that I made a bit of a hash of stamping directly onto the card (it was slightly wonky) chances are you may not of noticed but I knew it wasn't right, so stamped if again and die cut it and popped it on top of the hash up!  Now I know I could have just not told you that but I want you to know that I have just as many if not more hash ups than you all do!
That is my card finished I kept everything totally flat so that I could keep postage to a minimum.
I hope you like the card and that it gives you a little bit of inspiration!

Have an enjoyable day ladies,

love and hugs to all of you

Sandra

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-please wish Becca a very Happy Birthday from me.
Your card is gorgeous-very classy & elegant.

We had another hot, sunny day. More thunder & heavy rain around 5-6pm but it brightened up to leave s lovely evening. Chatted to my Dad got over an hour & I’m going to see him next Saturday.
No update on my Uncle since Friday so il send my cousins wife s text sometime today asking if they’ve had chance to speak to him.
My friend that was quite poorly (infected Gall bladder) is home & has a drain in. She’s having the nurse visit, on Thursday she said there was an infection at the site of the drain so she needed more antibiotics. She need her Gall Bladder removing but the infection needs to clear plus they need to make a decision on when to operate due to Covid restrictions.

Right-best get my happy work face on & prepare myself for wearing a surgical mask at all times in the hospital.

  2. Happy Birthday BECCA
Your card is pretty SANDRA and these days that’s the order of the day as postage is so expensive
We had lovely weather all weekend but quite muggy last night
The courgette loaf was lovely and I would have sent a photo but half of it stayed in the tin when I turned it out!
I tried to make a mask using hair scrunches but it didn’t work I don’t know if the scrunches are too thick or the mask too big Oh well I’ll just unpick it and add elastic instead
OH is back at work tomorrow I am scared for him as he’s not sure how it’s going to work in his environment
    Take care all xx

  3. Hi Sandra & ladies.
Lovely card Sandra. I’ve already made a start on my Christmas cards. I don’t think I need a lot as I made way to many for last Christmas. Totally missed yesterday for some reason. I can’t say I was really busy either. Next door to me has taken the wire fence down between us and is going to build a small wall. In its place. It’s hard going because our soli is very clayey. Might take a few months mths he reckons. He’s already pushed the shingle that was down so he could start digging a trench.
We could do with some rain down here as well. But at night only please, so we can sit out during the day. Just had an awful thought that I’d forgotten someone’s birthday. Sent Maria’s but from the postbox a bit further up from me which I don’t like doing. Next ones Amy’s at the end of the month & then Lynda’s. But oh my isn’t this year flying by.
Take care & stay safe everyone,

  5. Hello, sunshine and showers, very humid.

Happy Birthday Becca, hope it was a good one

Sandra, lovely classy card today, yes Maria postage has gone up, began beginning of April.

Been baking this morning, nothing fancy, just fruit cake, carrot cake buns, and macaroons.

This afternoon I’ve taken 50 osteospermums, they grow like weeds here but the plants get woody after a few years, hence new cuttings.

Not going to do much more today, hugs to all Lilian

    Happy Birthday to Becca 😀
Lovely Christmas card Sandra. As you say, good to make some flat ones for posting due to postage costs.
Thought we were going to have a storm here earlier as came over really dark, but had a few rain spots and it’s cleared up now. Really love a good thunderstorm, but they always seem to miss us!
Hope you’ve all had a good day. Hugs to all xxx

  8. Hello Sandra and ladies,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BECCA hope you are having a lovely day. xxx

Sandra, I love everything about your challenge card , the colour, the EF. It so clean and fresh looking.

We have been in the garden most of the day, John cleaned the gutters out back and front. I was doing jobs and keeping an eye on him up and down the ladder. He is not as agile and confident as he used to be. Soon after we came indoors the heavens opened - I was delighted, The garden looks so much better when it has rained.

Sleep well everyone, Love Brenda xxx
