Michele's Magazine Review

Mixed Craft Saturday
Good Morning Ladies,

I hope that you haven't been washed away by the torrential rain, we had hours of it yesterday, it was hammering down, the drains don't seem to be able to cope these days, mind you we don't see road sweepers anymore, so the gutters are full of leaves and rubbish. Which is part of the reason we have so many areas of flooding locally, luckily people's homes weren't affected this time but the water just sits for days!

I have some lovely things to share with you today, Cheryl's Candles and a stunning card, a gorgeous card from Janet, Michele's Magazine Review and last but not least Val's shopping.

So here we go........
Cheryl

Cheryl's fantastic Candle/Cone centre pieces

Cheryl hand makes these stunning Candle and Pinecone table centerpieces, she uses good quality candles, some magnificent pine cones that themselves give off an amazing fresh aroma.  Lots of decorative pieces added too, including miniature baubles, little ribbon trimmed parcels, foliage and festive sprigs too!  So much goes into making each one of these gorgeous pieces, Cheryl does it all to raise money for the incredible charity ......

Cardiomyopathy is a charity very dear to Cheryl's heart and she works tirelessly all through the year, every year to raise money for this very worthwhile cause.
Cheryl you do an amazing job making so many different craft items to sell, if there is anything that any of us can do please feel free to ask through the blog.

Cheryl's stunning Anniversary card

Wrapped in beautiful Voile

The Stunning finishing touch, a gorgeous Box

Cheryl this Anniversary card that you have made for her friend Glynis for thier Golden Wedding Anniversary, I have to say Cheryl this is one of your most beautiful cards, that floral corner arrangement is exquisite, wrapping it in luxurious Voile adds to the overall experience of opening such a beautiful gift.
To finish the gift Cheryl has made a Box and replicated the floral spray from the card and personalised the box as the finishing touch.  I imagine when your friends see this you will be inundated with requests!!
Thank you so much for sharing your crafts with all of us.

Janet

Janet's card is absolutely stunning, so luxurious too, everything about it shouts quality, from the gorgeous Embossing Folder that Janet has used to emboss that beautiful gold card, to which Janet added a pretty arrangement of roses and leaves,
The card is finished with delicate lace trim and tiny pearls. Oh Janet what a stunning card, thank you for sharing it with us today .

Michele's Magazine Review

End of the month Magazine Review.

Making Cards magazine with free Alphabet stamps plus papers-this month they have a Tropical theme. Nice ideas for car themed male cards in this issue but there's only 3 cards shown which is a shame as they could have made much more of a feature with this article.

Quick Cards Made Easy-free gift is an embossing folder & stamp set. Russian Dolls must be the "in thing" as there's a 4 page feature showing cards made using Stamps. I might adapt some of these ideas using the free gifts from last month .

Look who made it into the magazine.....!!! I'm really pleased as I've tried a few times. Pity they didn't spell my name correctly . I'm hoping to have another card featured in an Autumn edition.

Papercraft Inspirations with a lovely set of Altenew stamps(I think that's the brand). There's an article on shaped cards inside this issue plus a great step by step guide to Partial Diecutting.

Papercraft Essentials with a floral corner Die & stamp set. There's a feature on Men's card inside this issue plus two articles using the free gifts.

There you have the latest round up of my magazines. I get quite a few via subscription which have been presents (birthday or Christmas) so I'm not buying all of them myself.

Val

Val has bought her first Dies from China, I have those Stars Val and they cut brilliantly, I was surprised at the quality to be honest.
The Crafters Companion Embossing Folder looks lovely Val, I am excited to see your Christmas cards appearing on the blog, thanks so much for sharing your shopping with all of us and for your lovely email .

Margaret

Margaret ordered herself some new Stampin'Up! Goodies to play with, you made some fantastic choices Margaret:

Flowers Shop Stamp Set with Matching Punch, this set makes some amazing flowers and having the punch means you can craft anywhere, as you can pop the punch and stamps in your bag, no heavy die cutting machine required.

The Vertical Greetings stamp set, well you all know that's my new favourite stamp set, you just don't see enough Vertical Greetings on the market, Margaret has used this sent on her CC this week too!!

Card selection pack, so useless to match with DSP, :(pretty papers), Grey and Blue are the new black I think, I love them both.

Label Me Pretty stamp set, (did you get the matching Punch Margaret:?) I thought this set would be perfect for you with all the cakes you take for different people, I love that Floral Happy Birthday too.

Label Framelits, I would be lost without mine, I use them all the time, you can chop the bottom off and make a tag, as well as that lovely label shape, they have been made to work with most of the Stampin'Up! Stamp sets, which makes them even more useful.
Last but not least is the amazing Envelope Punch Board, you didn't need me to tell you how fantastic this tool is as Sue played with if herself and was amazed at how easy it was, you won't regret buying it Margaret.

What a fantastic shopping basket, you have the tools to make some stunning cards.
Thank you so much for sharing Margaret.  Hope you are feeling better.

  1. Morning Sandra & ladies,

Oh my, what a lovely surprize to see my candles and card on display this morning. Your words are very kind Sandra, extra special 'thank you'.

My friend Glenys loved the card she had ordered and I had fun trying different techniques with gilding polish, it was the last thing she asked me to do for her. Sadly, cancer had returned to ravish her body, she lost her battle and died early Wednesday morning. A more true and loyal friend I have ever had. So vivacious, friendly, loving and wise, remembering past times will be easy, there were so many of them. Tuesday nights were 'ladies night' at the Spirit when she and husband Andrew were mine hosts. What fun we had just sitting chatting and joking between us.

    Love 7 hugs

  2. Morning Ladies

Cheryl-WOW!!! Love the decorated candles and the anniversary card is stunning. What a beautiful Keepsake.

    Janet-live your card.

Great crafty shopping-I love to see what everyone else likes to buy.

I was called into the Chief Pharmacist office yesterday afternoon to be told that my colleague has changed her mind about Mediation (after 5 weeks) and has now put in a grievance against me. I don't know anything more apart from I now have to wait for this to be assigned a Case Manager. To say I was shocked/upset was an understatement. I'll be contacting my Union Rep on Monday as I refuse to use my own time to deal with this.

This morning I'm off to the hairdressers plus I got a shopping list from my Dad so I need to go to Asda then drop his shopping off. After that I'd like to play in my craft room.

    1. Hi Michele, can't believe the woman has changed her mind. I bet you were upset when you thought it was going to be resolved and it's still lingering on. Let's hope your Union Rep has some good advice. I must be so awkward having to work with the woman as well.
Hope you can forget about it for the weekend. Enjoy being pampered this morning and playing in the craft room later. Xxx

  3. Morning Everyone
YEHHHHHHHHHHHH we have sunshine this morning so fingers crossed it stays that way. I'm beginning to grow 'flippers' as we've had so much rain this last week.lol

CHERYL- I love your Candle arrangements and they will look so beautiful gracing any Seasonal Table.
Your CARD is just a WOW WOW WOW. I'm so sorry to hear that your Dear and Loving Friend lost her battle. It is such a horrible disease. You have so many beautiful memories made together.

MICHELE- Thank you for your Mag Review. I cannot believe that some people can be so horrible in the work place. Why I always ask myself when we spend so much of our time at work. Chin up Dear Friend.

SANDRA - I'm not sure whether it's VAL or MARGARET who has been on a Shopping Spree but I love their shopping basket of goodies.

My card was made using Crafter's Companion new 3D Efolder. I now have four of them and have really fell in love with them all. I have never seen so much detail and super embossing as these give. I really would recommend purchase.

Off to Meadowhell this morning for usual week-end shopping so Cream Scones and Very Berry Cheesecake will be behind the counter in the CAFE this afternoon.
Speaking of which the CAFE IS OPEN and ready for you all today to pop in and have a sit and chat for a while.

HUGS winging their way to you all. xxxx

  4. Morning Sandra and ladies,

Managed a few hours sleep last and woken up feeling more positive. Many thanks for your support ladies. The friendliest most caring blog in the world. Thank you ladies - you're the best.

What a lovely lot of goodies today. Cheryl table decoration and beautiful card.
JANET your card is so lovely. These 3d EF cut so deep. The snowflake one of mine shown today is a real delight.

MARGARET love all your stamps and dies. I bet you're going to have fun with them.

So enjoyed Craft Club yesterday. It's always a pleasure to mix with crafters. It was a doubly good day thought beacausecwhilst we were there, Wendy Skyped John Lockwood and we all had a lovely chat. We invited him over to do a work shop with us.but sadly he's too busy. He showed us what cards he was making at that time. So clever and such a lovely person.

Lynn and Paul are off work today. They're having a lie in this morning but we're off out for lunch later. So looking forward to it. It's really far to hot to eat and the thought of standing in front of a hot stove really pus Lynn and me off cooking. I've nibbled a few lettuce leaves here and there but it will be good to have an actual meal.

BRENDA AND PAT. Glad your medication was eventually sorted out. Pat I lope Pete feels ok now after his upset tum.xxx

I hadn't realised Lilian wasn't well. Hope your feeling a lot brighter today. Xxx

    Last but not least.
MICHELE love you magazine reviews. Maybe a good job I don't live in UK, I'd be buying them all
FANTASTIC you made it into the magazine. What a thrill to see your name and photo. Well done.
I do get Papercraft Inspiration delivered to the shop and I'm looking forward to seeing those cute little flower stamps. Love the corner die bin Papercraft Essentials as well.

Hope everyone has a good Saturday whatever you've planned.

Lovely selection today. Cheryl your candle table arrangements are lovely. They'll be snapped up and you'll make lots of money for your charity.
Michele one again that you for your reviews of the magazines, and lovely to see a picture of you in the magazine. Even if they did spell your name wrong.
    Janet beautiful cards.
Great buys ladies. I've bought a few buys as well this week but they haven't arrived yet,
It's pouring down in Bournemouth today. We've been out for a drive and popped in to Currys and bought a new printer. Nothing wrong with my old one but trying to get the laptop to print out the paperwork I needed to rake with me for my Endoscopy was a nightmare. 3 hrs later it still wouldn't print. So I had to email it to one of our friends and they printed it out for me. I can't print from my iPad to my Kodak printer. But I can from the Epsom one I've just bought as I've tried it on Dave's.

  13. Hi Sandra &a ladies
Sorry late again I have commented on way down takes me ages.
Not sure where today has gone haven't really done much had to go £ Shop for cleaning bits. They had some leggings for £ 2.50 so picked up a couple of them bargain as my daughter would say. We had a nice day yesterday when she came down with Joseph. As it was raining she booked her & Joseph into the mountain climbing wall which is two minutes away from us. They both did well they could have stayed two hrs but after a hour Lisa had enough. I got some good video of them. On my phone.
Looking 👀 forward to seeing the challenge cards tomorrow.
    Love Lynda xx
