I am in love with this New Stamp Set....

Good Morning Ladies,

A bit of a sad day today as Paul has had to go back to work, I have to say that I just love every single minute I get to spend with him.  So I have to try and keep myself busy today, I will be doing a bit of reorganising in my craft room and then I want to make a start on something I have been wanting to do for a long time but I keep procrastinating rather than just getting on with it, doubting my abilities etc and that is to make a Journal/Junk Journal.  I have seen so many different ones, it was Danielle that inspired me and her lovely friend Steph Stoker, they both make amazing Journals and Travellers Notebooks.  I just need to grab some paper and get started !!

Todays card is from a new stamp set that I am totally in love with, its called 'Golden Afternoon',
although I am not sure why it is called that!
Both sets of trees are stunning with so much incredible detail, the stamp beautifully too, I absolutely love the font of the sentiments too, I think that I will  be using this set rather a lot!!

For my card I stamped the larger of the two trees in Memento ink and added clear embossing powder and heat set.  I coloured the trunk of the tree with Crumb Cake ink and the leaves with both the dark and light Stampin' Blends in Old Olive, I love how it turned out.
I then simply added on of the lovely sentiments and then matted my coloured piece onto Old Olive card and then popping that onto a Whisper white card base, its just a small almost notecard size : 4 3/4  X 5 1/4 .
But I thought it would make a nice 'just want to say Hi' card or a note to let you know I am thinking of you.
What do you think???

Now did any of you get anything Crafty for Christmas????

I didn't this year, it felt really odd not getting anything craft related at all, I would love to see your photos though to make up for the lack of mine !! lol xx

The good thing is that Farnborough Craft Show is just around the corner in February, which I am really looking forward too, it is one of the best craft shows that I have been to, its so well organised and its laid out perfectly with lots of room between rows of craft stalls and the stands are set out along the row rather than going back, which makes it so much more accessible even from a wheelchair, there is a good amount of room for eating your lunch too.
It is in a new hall at Farnborough this year though, I am keeping my fingers crossed that they haven't changed anything.

That's all from me for today, I hope that you are all well and getting back into your normal day to day routines.  Janet has the CafĂ© back into full swing, so it would be lovely to see you all calling in for a coffee, chat and a calorie free cake!!

Sending love and hugs to all of you,

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-what a lovely card & a great set of stamps. I didn’t get anything crafty for Christmas but I did treat myself & I’m quite tempted to place another order. Craftstash have up 80% off Christmas items including the Christina Griffiths collection.

Off to Tesco tonight after work-we don’t need much but we’re running out of fresh stuff so it should be a quick shopping trip.

  2. Morning Everyone
from a very cold start to the day here.

SANDRA- a really lovely card and a beautiful stamp. I too didn't get anything crafty this Christmas so I'm looking forward to treating myself lol.

Still very quiet around us but I suppose everything will be back to normal next week.

The CAFE doors are unlocked ready and waiting for you all to pop in for a chat and a drink anytime you wish. You don't have to stay long.
HUGS are winging their way to you all with many extras for Dear Friends in need. Take care and stay safexxxx

  3. A quick comment especially as I’ve gone anonymous! Have tried to do the fix and hasn’t worked Love card SANDRA - it is a strange name
From Secret Santa at work I got a £10 Hobbycraft voucher and from my SIL I got an ink storage box from Candy Box Crafts Looking forward to constructing and decorating it
Hugs all around Will try and sort this out later Karenlotty

  4. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. A beautiful card. I love the stamp set and agree with you about that gorgeous font. I think your card makes a lovely thinking of you type of card. Go for it re. making a junk journal. I know you will “ace” it my lovely as you are so talented. Farnborough is the best craft fair that we go to isn’t it. Another advantage is that the disabled car park is undercover and right beside the hall, at least it always has been. Fingers crossed they haven’t changed that by moving to the new hall. I had two sets of Presscut large nesting dies, ovals and rectanglesto go with the squares and circles I already have so after all this time I finally have the basic sets I should have bought a long time ago. I have a little money to get craft goodies with but intend to get the double sided tape roller with that.
Lilian, sorry you still have problems with commenting, and you too Karen. At least Pat and I seem to be sorted now and Brenda most of the time.
Have a good day ladies. I have to tidy up my craft space before o can make another card! Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx

  6. Hi everyone,
Oh what a pretty card Sandra and a lovely stamp set.

I didn't get any large craft gifts this Christmas but lots of crafty bits from the lovely ladies at the craft club.

Been to the to gp this morning and I'm on a 5 day course of pain injections. The weekend before Christmas Gracie was attacked by a dog running off its lead in our little park. Although thankfully she wasn't hurt only a lot of the fur pulled out, I got in the way trying to protect her and because of my very thin skin, myleg was badly grazed. Anyway two weeks later it's still bleeding and has become infected. Anyway the doctor sent me in to see the nurse for cleaning and dressing which was not a pleasant experience and I have to go back tomorrow. Im feeling pretty sorry for myself at the moment.
    Sorry to moan ladies.

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.
Hugs to all with extras for Pat.x

    Love Valx

    1. Should have said the injections are for sciatica.x

    2. Hi Val
I do hope your wound heals soon. Hope the injections work as well for your sciatica.
Thanks for the hugs they’re very much appreciated.

  7. Hullo all.
Like the card and the stamp set Sandra.
It’s been quite chilly here in Oxfordshire today. But it’s supposed to get even colder.
We went out with friends to Yarnton Garden Ctr this afternoon for a coffee. We had a walk round the garden Ctr and I ordered some curtains for our living room.
Mind you curtain sizes make me laugh. They’ve been the same sizes for as long as I can remember. But non of them ever fit the windows they put in houses. So I need to have 12ins taken off the depth.

  8. Hello Sandra and ladies,
I lost a comment earlier on, I was distracted when I returned my comment had disappeared AND am back to Mrs Anonymous.....again! I tried checking my profile, even tried checking my Google account, but no luck.

Sandra I love today’s card and the colours are just perfect. This stamp set is really beautiful.

    Love to everyone, Brenda xxx
