The Sketch

Good Morning Ladies,

There is also an End of Year Sale, so you can bag a bargain and get it delivered FREE!  The link to my website is above (under the Free Shipping banner.
I would very much appreciate any order xxx

Well we had a totally Snowy day yesterday, we ended up with Becca being stranded here, her car is still here, luckily Matt had a big 4 Wheel Drive Truck, so he took her to work and then went on to rescue a few others on the way home, I was surprised at how many people were just out for a jolly, the roads here were totally untreated so conditions were treacherous.

I decided to go for a Sketch this week, I think that they are an easy option, which we all need at the moment, with all the preparations for Christmas still to do.
I went for a Christmas card as I still have a few to make, this sketch will work for just about any occasion though so don't feel tied to a Christmas card if you have finished yours.

I used Garden Card to make my base card, adding a mat of 'Be Merry' Designer series paper, I then cut two different sizes of the 'Lots of Labels' dies, one in Whisper White and the larger in Garden Green.  I stamped the sentiment 'Peace, Joy & Love' from the 'Peace this Christmas' stamp set onto the white label, using Cherry Cobbler ink, I added some Garden Green splatters using a 'Gorgeous Grunge' stamp.  I mounted this onto the green label and adhered to my card base.
I then took a piece of Cherry Cobbler card and cut it with the Wavy border die from The Colourful Seasons' dies, I added some Garden Green ribbon to the red border piece and adhered to the top of my card, I then tried a Bow using the same ribbon and added it to the ribbon.  To add finishing touches I used some Garden Green card die cut with a Fern die and Cherry Cobbler card die cut into tiny Poinsettia and used them to embellish my labels.
I didn't have any matching gems to add to my card (to follow the design) so I used a die that cut small dots as it's waste to cut some Cherry Card, which I then pressed into Versamark ink and then Clear Embossing Powder to give me some shiny matching red dots, you could make sparkly dots by either using a little glitter at the heat Embossing stage or swish over with some 'Wink of Stella' (That's my Top Tip) for this card.
I hope the card inspires you a little.
Peace This Christmas
Stamp Set

Now please stay safe in this terrible weather, I am guessing the roads and paths will be icy this morning, as Matt said it was still snowing and a zero at half past six last night.
The girls school is closed, it's in Burford and teachers come from quite far away, so they were happy this morning, luckily they have plenty of A level work that they can be catching up on, so they won't get bored!
Paul starts his job today of all days, but it's close enough that he can walk thankfully.  He wasn't planning on starting until after Christmas but they seem keen to get him started.

Take care my lovelies,

Love and warm hugs,

Sandra

Gorgeous card Sandra & a great sketch. This could do easily be used for a Birthday Card as well as Christmas.

We’ve had a hard frost overnight so I’ll be scraping the car I guess.

  4. Morning Everyone
Yes it's freezing but thankfully we don't seem to have had any more snow overnight so the roads are clear but footpaths etc look very dangerous.

SANDRA- an interesting Challenge this week. Hopefully in between catching up on what I should have done yesterday and -making a start on wrapping- and other things I can get my thinking cap on.

So instead of wrapping yesterday the phone range just after 09;30 and I was asked did I have 4 birthday cards or could I make 4 - 2 female and 2 male. As I haven't any in stock I set out to make them. I have to finish them off this morning by putting in the inserts. So guess what I'll be doing today lol.

The CAFE is OPEN the horrible weather so if you're inclined to pop in please do so. It's warm and hot drinks are waiting for you
If you're planning on going out today please take care. We don't want any broken bones as a result of trying to skate or indeed any other injuries.
HUGS are winging their way to you all.
VAL- your beautiful card has arrived thank you.xxxx

  5. Morning Sandra and ladies,

Very busy weekend our family enjoyed. Visited Mum & Dad with Tiegan on Saturday, my brother and SIL arrived so we had a lovely time chatting.
Yesterday, Wookey Hole winter Wonderland was fantastic. Milly-May was in awe of the decorations but not so much with Santa...she screamed when he spoke to her and had to leave the grotto with mum. She loved the caves which were all lit up with fairy lights and statues of elves Santa, toy soldiers, penguins & polar bears etc. Lunch was early so we could attend the 1 o'clock circus show. I bought her a lovely sparkly star wand that lit up so brightly and popcorn for us all. She took one piece out of the bag and took it over to the elf, who sold us the wand, to say 'thank you' bless her. I was amazed at her stillness throughout the show. She was utterly enthralled and clapping along with everyone. Half way through she came to sit on my lap and
said not a word except for 'ooh' and the occasional 'aah'.
The weather was absolutely chucking buckets down then changed to giant snowflakes whilst we were eating lunch. It snowed all the way home but didn't pitch except for on the very top of the hills. This morning rain, rain & more rain.

The Range has a Clearance Sale for crafting so I will be popping in just to see what is available.

I have sent you a PM on Facebook regarding the link to your page Sandra. I have some birthday money left over for a couple of items I would like.

However you are spending today, please be safe

    Love 7 hugs

Sounds like you all had a fabulous day. Especially Milly-May. I bet her face was a picture. Seeing all the Christmas lights. They are a delight at that age aren't they.

Wishing Paul all the best today, hope everything goes well. It must be strange for him going back to the place he’s worked for so long but with a different employer. Anyway Paul my best wishes on the way to you. XX

We are heading into Croydon soon a little shopping and lunch out. Fortunately the snow has gone but it’s raining and looks really miserable outside .

Wishing you all a good day, Love Brenda xxx

Enjoy your shopping and the lunch afterwards. Lucky you if the snow has gone. I'd rather have rain than snow.

  7. Hi Sandra
Great card today. Love these papers
Hope all goes well for today for Paul. As Brenda said it will be strange going into the place he used to work at but with another company. The schools around us are off as well. Although Karen has gone into the pre school today, to help clear away the snow. I assume ready for tomorrow. Another round of hospitals this week. I do hope the snow has gone by tomorrow as we've a couple of big hills to go up on the way.
Stay safe everyone if you have snow still.

    1. Hi Lynda
We still have snow here. Lots fell yesterday. People trying to get out of Witney towards Oxford got stuck on the hill. Funny how people take no notice of anyone saying, only go out if you have to. Lots of people just wanted to go Christmas shopping.

  9. Hi Sandra and all in the Café today.
I love your card and the challenge this week, it will be great for all ages and occasions, a real all rounder 😊 I hope Paul enjoys his first day at work. As the others have already said it will be odd for him won't it being on base but as a civilian. I hope you have managed to shake off the last of that cough my lovely xx
The snow is turning to slush here but its meant to get much colder later so the paths and roads are going to be treacherous. I certainly won't go out unless it is absolutely essential that's for sure. Those of you that have to work etc. please take extra good care of yourselves x
More cards to do today so that's me busy.Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lilian and all in need. Take care xx

I know every time we hear the post drop on the mat, we dread going to pick it up.
The weather hasn't been to bad today. However, it's due to freeze to about -8 tonight. I do hope their wrong. If it is I hope it thaws quickly. Good job Pete's appointment is in the afternoon. Will probably be coming home in the dark again.

  12. Hi all, the weather certainly looks bad in some parts of the Country. Barrie sent me a video yesterday of two of his dogs playing in the snow. He lives in North Wales and it looked very thick there.
Just finishing wrapping up the rest of the presents. Barrie arrives this week for a few days. Helen is still in hospital, she's had a bit of a set back and Barrie really needs a few days break. Only planned one meal ot as I reckon he'll sleep a lot.
