Good Monday Morning Ladies,
Pinch, Punch first of the Month, Can you actually believe we are in JUNE!!!! almost halt way through the year, my goodness its flown!
Right, I thought I would start another feature to our blog, Male Cards Monday, I would like to challenge you all to make a 'Male' card and send them in for next weeks blog, I still have a few in my files to show from past blog posts!
I think that it will benefit all of us to see some male card inspiration, its something we all find a chore.
I have posted a few cards that I had already been sent, all of them are hugely inspirational, so thank you to the contributors, you are all amazing and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I would like to welcome Margaret to our blog family, Margaret is of course Sue (Mrs B)'s Mum,
now let me tell you she is the loveliest lady and very funny too, just like Sue really, so the hugest welcome Margaret, I look forward to sharing many laughs with you, you also can't accuse Sue of being mad now, for talking about going to a coffee shop every day without leaving the house.
You will find the most amazing friends here in this 'cafe', so caring, kind and hilarious!
Get some of your needlework photographed ready for mixed craft Saturday too!
Sue.....are you going to Lidl today???? Let me know if you are successful.
Good luck to the rest of you bargain hunters too, also remember to get your tips ready for Wednesday
Ooohh goodness me I just sneezed, I have had a 'fizzy' nose for hours, such a relief!!! Excuse me!!!
Well Paul has the day off today, so we may pop to allotment, weather permitting!
I hope you all have a good day, I hope there are no reports of violence in Lidl later, hihi !
Love and Hugs
Sandra

  1. Good morning. Sandra and ladies. Oh I think my big sister is in, she must be doing something in the back, right I will give her a hand.
My what a great selection of male cards are in here today, now I like this new challenge thing, but I will have to give it a miss for the next two weeks. Now I am going to cheat and just say I love them all, they are all so different, but the designs and lay outs are just perfect for those men in our lives.
Not long in from having dinner with in laws it was a good night, I am so glad as the last time was a disaster really. They came here and we ate in the court yard resturant so we didn't have far to go. I am going to get myself a cup of tea and sit and chat to Patricia, have missed our chats. Hazel x

  2. Good morning Sandra and the coffee shop gang. Hope you all have a great day.
Have been chatting to Hazel. She said she would come in early and we could set up together today. Looking forward to that.
Well, well, well, if any of us were stuck for a "man card" absolutely NO excuses now!! What a fantastic aray of brilliant cards, love each and every one.
Sandra hope you and Paul have a good day at the Allotemnet.
Right folks I will confess ......... deep intake of breath ..... nearly as big as Sandra's sneeze!!
For the past two weeks I have been in another "time zone" I am 2 hours ahead of you at the moment. I will be "winging" my way back home later today.
We have been back in our old "stomping" ground...... Turkey!!!
I don't like mentioning on ANY Blogs even my own that we are away. We live rather isolated and I feel leaving the house and advertising the fact that's it's empty is looking for trouble.
Will tell you all about it some other time. The down side has been the weather, we have had lots of Monsoon Style Rian. Most unusual for this time of year, the weather pattern has definitely changed since we lived here. We were out with friends for a meal last night, I needed my light weight fleece!! The weather has severely restricted our traveling about. Plus stupid people did not come fully prepared for it beating colder than usual.
I read last nights Shenanigans my word I really did go to bed too early. What fun you guys had. It was late when we gat back and that of course was 2 hours later than you were at.
Tell you what there is always something good going on here, love it dont you!!!
Do you think, any of us will see our beds in the same day as we get out of them when we all get together in October??? Answers on a Postcard please!!!
Will leave you all with that thought as I toodle off for my breakfast.
Have a good day will be back later.
Basket of BIG (((((hugs))))) by the door as usual. xxx

  3. Morning Ladies

Wow-what a brilliant collection of mens cards. This is perfect timing as I found out yesterday I need to make an 80th birthday card for a relative by the 16th June. This one isn't going to the USA luckily-think i'd have to work overtime if it was!! Haha.

I'm going to look at all the cards on my laptop tonight and hopefully they will inspire me to start my card.

  4. Hi Sandra & ladies,
Will pop back later as off ton early visit to Lidl.
Very striking men's cards, have to make one when I get home for my gorgeous stepson, Nathan, Pete's son by his first marriage.
I'm like you Patricia, only my family and next door neighbours (who have set of keys in an emergency) know when I go away. TMI on FB etc these days and the Insurance companies are now watching customers blogs and all internet activities to see if they post they are on holiday, that way they can refuse burglary claims if their property unfortunately has unwelcome guests whilst they are away.

Good morning everyone and all who pop in today

This is my second attempt as my first is floating somewhere in another time zone so Hazel if you see it grab it, read it and then destroy please.

Sandra a fantastic idea to go alongside of Wednesdays and Saturdays. I've already seen one or two ideas I can use so a big thank you to everyone. They are all wonderful cards.
Sandra hope it's going to be home grown for dinner tonight. There's nothing like it is there.

I'll have to just pop off as Mr Tesco is due with my groceries and then I'll decide what's next. I've already got a load of washing in and as at the moment we have clear blue skies, sunshine and it's windy they should dry nicely. I'll get Jim to hang it out for me and I'll be in the dining room not looking. I know this was a topic of conversation a little while ago but I just cannot watch him hang washing out.
I need to finish off a version of an 'Izzy' bag, do an insert for a little girl card, write a couple of cards which need to be hand delivered so I won't get the tiraid about postage. Jim went to post two cards last week and it cost him nearly £4. I know one was going to Holland and that was over £2 but the other was only going about 3miles away from us and they were not over bulky as I'd put them in expandable envelopes. He came back saying you're going to have to make smaller cards in future. Hmm what do I think of that 'No'. I love making 8x8 cards for family and close friends. I have started making 6x6 when it comes to that Season where great numbers are needed.

Thank you for the latte. Hugs are in the usual by the door. Thank you for letting me snooze yesterday morning. It did me the world of good.

Patricia hope you had a really restful time, I'm with you on not telling too many people you are away from home.

The children from Belarus are here again, for a months respite and care, doesn't seem like a year has passed since their last visit, a friend from our craft shop and myself are having a craft day with them today, we have stamped lots of card and cut out masks for them to colour in, they love this sort of thing as they don't have anything like it at home, so poor it is unbelievable.

    2. Jess that is wonderful for the children I know all about what conditions are like out there. I used to make quilts and send them through a friend of mine, someone she knew used to go with a medical team to an orphanage out there. The children had nothing at all and they were given a quilt each and told it was there's to keep forever, sadly lots of the children died and when this happened they were buried wrapped in their quilts. While it was very sad we were told the joy on their faces when given a quilt was unbelievable. Some children also come to our area each year it is so lovely to see them.

Thank you Sandra for showing alm the Male cards. I like them all. Lots of ideas there.
I did comment last night saying that I was back from seeing my Aunt but if seems to have disappeared and Myra stayed up late waiting for me to check in. Sorry about that. Thank you all for your comments about my visit.
My cousin and I were a big apprehensive going in to see my Aunt but she wasn't looking as bad as we had anticipated from what we had been told. We had been told that her hearing had gone and her sight was going but she heard everything we said and answered and recognised us straight away. Her voice was a little slurred but we could understand what she was saying. Her son said that she had improved in the few days she had been in the hospice. The prognosis is still the same but she was happy.
Been to Lidl and got my card and matching paper. 137gms. Should think it would be ok for die cuts. Well I must get on with the Izzy bags. Didn't get any done yesterday. Hoping my neighbour will be over this afternoon to help me in the garden so must get on. Be back later.

  13. Hi Sandra and all in the cafe today. As I didn't touch the laptop yesterday I must say that Michele's cards were beautiful. The Siamese cat one must have delighted whoever got it, it is so personal.
I think Male Card Monday is another great idea as I seem to make more male cards than ladies so I am always looking for inspiration. Thank you all for sharing today's lovely cards with us. They are all different, there is something for everyone : )
It was good to see that my Mum has commented, she has been popping in to have a look for a while now. I think me talking about everything that goes on in here made her take the plunge, it' s lovely to see you here Mum : )
I am off to Lidl in a while to hopefully get some of the card, fingers crossed that they haven't sold out already!

Wow! what a great collection of men's cards and a great idea too Sandra....I struggle so hard to do a man card I'd much rather do pretty, pretty and flowers, flutterblies and sparkles...which are not quite suitable for men. Have a lovely day with Paul Sandra hope the weather holds out so you can get to the allotment....if not enjoy your day together anyway.
I'm feeling absolutely shattered after my day out at the craft show and all the frivolity in the cafe last night....should have really held back on the Baileys! Lol! So a nice quiet day for me today to get some of my energy back. Take care and have a lovely day whatever you are up to. Have put as many hug in the basket as I could muster please help yourselves.

  17. Good Morning Sandra and lovely ladies,
Sandra, what a brilliant array of "man cards" on show today. Each one shows us just how clever our ladies are and gives us some of that much needed inspiration. Hope you have a good day with Paul whatever you decide to do.
I am going to go back up and comment as my brain is having a bit of a moment and can't concentrate properly.
Reason being, I am not a happy bunny. As you all know, since the BBC/ITV moved onto a UK limited footprint ( it means their signal is designed solely for UK reception) I now have very very limited TV signal from them despite having a huge satelite dish. Theoretically I shouldn't get anything and am truly grateful for the couple of hours a day I do manage a weak signal, usually about midday, never in an evening anymore. Anyway, today it seems C&C are moving to another satelite (Astra 4G) and guess what I have no signal. I have just been reading what I could find on the net and it all depends on whether they will use the UK beam or the Pan European one as to whether I will be able to watch them anymore or not, but it is going to take a couple of days before the "move" is up and running properly so I shall just have to be patient.
Are any of you also experiencing problems? Or is it just here in mainland Europe?
I know it is often a load of rubbish but I shall so miss it if it goes off here!!
Lots of love, a sad Saba xxx

    1. Saba why not let C & C know they are always saying they ship to Europe and seem very proud of the fact, knowing them they may not have realised this! In the mean time do keep calm dear it is a bit early for a bottle so look out for some birds instead to keep the nerves calm. xx

    2. Margaret, what a good idea to contact C&C.
Saba, of course, if all else fails, you can watch it on your laptop. Or do you have trouble there as well?

    4. I might well send them an email, I was just waiting to see what happens, it might just be teething problems with their new satellite.
Problem with watching it on my laptop as I don't have one!! However I can watch it on the I pad, but that means either I watch C&C or I come here, can't do both at the same time.
As we speak, I am getting a weak signal but it is better than this morning just a bit breaking up whereas the BBC signal seems ok, so maybe it is just teething problems. I do hope so I am thoroughly fed up with living in this wilderness!!!!

Yes got some!!!!! We have been to Lidl's first thing this morning and got a load of card and some paper too, the pads of paper will be good for my grandson during the summer holidays, he loves drawing. We were there by 8.30 so there was plenty, it really does look good quality.
Sandra what a wonderful array of cards and so inspirational too for everyone, you never fail to amaze with all your brilliant ideas, well done. I hope the weather is good enough for you to go and get your hands mucky! What ever you and Paul do enjoy your day together.
Well the town is still swarming with police, usually you can never find one but they are still trying to identify the body, poor man. Apparently he has a black panther tattoo on his arm and a German shepherd on his back, now Maureen or Saba have you been stamping on George or Peter?
Well my latte was lovely after my early start today I have washed my cup and put my hugs and cuddles over in the corner just help yourselves and put my money in the pot so have a lovely day everyone whatever you are doing and take care.

Sandra, what a brilliant idea to have Man Monday. I am another one who hates doing man cards. Ladies are so much easier!!!
Ok, if I forget anyone I'm sorry, but I did write the names down - Sandra, Myra, Cheryl, Sam and Janet, all your cards are great, and I shall borrow your ideas, so thank you!!
I've already posted that I've got my Lidl card, yippee.
Been for my bloods and Nurse Dracula filled enough phials to satisfy a whole colony of Bats!!!! I wouldn't care, I am in a peak physical condition and work out at least 6 hours per day ha ha.
Now what can I have for lunch, better not have a sandwich with Christmas chutney or you'll all be confused again. It's summer, so something light and airy, scrambled egg on toast. There - that's safe and won't cause mayhem on here lol. I'm in school this afternoon, with year 3 (7 & 8 year olds). I'll probably be listening to readers or filing. What an exciting life I lead!!

Can't wait for Wednesday, play time!!!!!
We went looking at tents today, wow times have moved on since we last bought a tent, they now have tents that have no poles, just air filled tubes! Mind you they cost like £1000 +
We have been put a lot of thought into going back to camping, my only thing left for concern is the toilet situation, for the night time only, we have a port a loo, but it's too low down for me now, so a friend of mine a suggested a 'she-wee' well I have never heard of such a thing, it's kind of a thing that allows you to wee like a man, which will ease the issue of having to get down to the level of the port a loo!
Apart from that little issue I am quite excited about going back to camping, I like the relaxed lifestyle of camping I have to say!
Well with that in mind I must go get dinner on, your thoughts please.....

MYRA, last time I ran I ended up with 3 fractures, so I think I'll give a marathon a miss, but you've got to admire her. I could, of course, have one of those rein type things that toddlers wear, so if I stumble George could hoick me back on my feet ha ha.
SANDRA, we used to love to go camping, but haven't been in a tent since I was 60. I still like to go caravanning though, but we don't have one so we hire a static, usually at Braithwaite in the Lakes, it's so beautiful there. Margaret is one lucky lady - even if dead bodies do turn up in hotels lol!!

  33. Hello to all my lovely blog sisters in the civilised world which is not Germany.
I decided to follow your advice and contact C&C. with regards to not being able to receive their TV broadcast anymore. I Attempted to go on their web site and guess what, I cannot longer access their web site from Germany, so now not only can I not watch them on sky but it seems their web server is blocking my IP address. I managed to find out their email address for technical problems and have written them an e mail, but, as yet have had no reply.
I think I might have to shoot myself!!!
However on a positive note and through the magic which is my lovely son in law I can fool the BBC Into thinking I am in the UK and can access the I player on my I pad and have had a lovely evening watching BBC 4 and a documentary about medieval England. It was such a good programme and I now am less inclined to shoot myself. They had neither BBC nor C&C and somehow managed to survive.

If he is clever he could make it so it comes apart for travelling. Night, night. Hazel x

  36. I am late again and it looks as if everyone has gone to bed. Well I am in bed with one of Margaret's heat bags it is so cold here and blowing a gale. Don't think I will get much sleep if this keeps up. We are supposed to have rain until tomorrow afternoon. Been raining for hours now. Sorry Sandra but I don't do camping. Too old for that and like a comfortable bed. Well I will wash up and lock up as if looks as if I an last. Night

    1. Hi Brenda, I'm a naughty night owl! I will give you three guesses what I've been doing this evening? Yes ! Candle making! I have done the first pour and it's looking good! My kitchen smells gorgeous! I have got three small cups and saucers, one glass footed pot with a lid and a pale blue glass bowl shaped like a star! It was actually a candle when I received it it's the blue and the star shape of Angel perfume! The instructions were really clear , it all went really smoothly and I will love them to settle overnight before doing stage two! Thought you'd like to know! Xxx

    2. Sitting here and listening to the wind howling outside and the rain bucketing down. It's so cold so had to put some heating on this afternoon, it's crazy because the weather report saying it will be hotter towards the weekend ( sure we will complain then too for one thing or other. off to join the hubby now snoring away so I'm saying natti natt

    5. Not sure if you will see this Myra as I had already gone when you commented last night. Glad you are doing the cup candles and yes the instructions are very good. Hope to see some pics when you have finished. The thing is not to rush them and as you are waiting until today that's fine.

    1. Hi Hazel, I'm going to be now, honestly! I didn't want them sitting around all day as I didn't want Alastair knocking them over!! By morning they will have hardened and I can do another pour. Then a final pour - that's how you get the candle smooth . Great instructions! I'm so pleased! I know it isn't bed time for you but I'll say night night anyway! I'll be up before you in the morning again! Myra xxx
