Throw back Friday

Happy Belated Birthday Sue
❤️I just wanted to make your Birthday last! ❤️

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

Firstly I want to send belated Blog Birthday Wishes to Sue (I did send a fb post yesterday).  I couldn't get a card together Wednesday or Thursday let alone know what day it was!  I hope you had a lovely day, I know Chris and your family will have spoilt you ❤️🎉🥳

A quiet one here as everyone is at work, today will be a slow day as I got literally no sleep Wednesday night into Thursday,  our room was really hot, eve  at 10pm,  so I got Paul to get fans down,  they are ones we use on holiday,  anyway it was really noisy,  I couldn't relax for the noise, I tried switching it off but that meant the room was so hot and humid, all I had over was thin cotton sheet,  by this time Paul was asleep and snoring, I'm surprised my loud sighing and huffing didn't wake him up, I kept tugging his pillow which stopped him for a few seconds but soon started again 😌, my Bile Duct is really inflamed at the minute so that was throbbing, when you are tired and frustrated it just seems worse,  then my whole body starts itching,  I laid crying at one point, I wanted to bloody scream!  I tried deep breathing and relaxation techniques but nothing worked.  At around 3.45am Milo started pawing at the bed, he would normally settle but the heat and fan had him on edge too,  I ended getting up to sort him out and I needed the toilet and to refill my water bottle, back in bed at about 4.30am, at which point the birds had formed a choir on our bedroom windowsill and performed a variety of their favorite tunes,  I just buried my head in my pillow!  Paul's alarm went off at 5.15am and that was it !!! Needless to say I felt like a zombie all day yesterday.

My hospital appointment was ok, he has written me an open ended prescription for bladder instillation (that I had last year) as they seemed to help, he explained it as "Nivea cream" for your bladder, keeping the lining soft and healthy.  Hopefully they will start soon.  He did tell me that I had a 'nasty Uti' last week, I stopped antibiotics after 3 days as the gp said the surgery would call if it was an active infection!! They didn't!

I am sharing a throwback card today, all attempts at anything crafty have ended in the bin the last 2 days!

Description:

Today's card is a simple floral card using a pretty paper collection that I got in SU sale its called 'Delightfully Eclectic '  I layered a piece if the pretty paper onto a die cut, scalloped rectangle and then onto a bit of 'Bubble Bath ' pink card that I embossed, then into a white card base, I didn't have matching ribbon so I coloured a piece of seam binding ribbon with Bubble Bath ink and dried it.  I added it to the front panel and tucked the sentiment tag behind it.

I hope that you all have a good day,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Karen's amazing Birthday card for Oscar

Good Morning Ladies,

Welcome May, I can't believe you are here already but it's good to see you are starting us off with warm sunshine. 😊

I hope today finds you all well and in the garden enjoying the sunshine.   I had a slow walk down to the allotment area yesterday at around 9.45am and it was aleeady hot,  I picked some Kale for my morning smoothie, came back up watered all the pots and was so excited to see my Dahlias from last year coming through,  I was really worried that they hadn't survived winter in the greenhouse, luckily both them and my Geraniums have done really well.
By the time I got back i  doors I was exhausted,  I made my smoothie and did my morning brain workout,  🤣 I force myself to do the New York Times puzzles every day, there is a Wordle, Connections where you sort a given grid of words into 4 categories, another word puzzle,  a mini and full size crossword and 3 sudokos.  It mentally exhausts me but hopefully it will keep my brain active 🤣😂

Today I have the pleasure of sharing Karen's 9th Birthday card for Oscar,  how is he 9 already??!!
Kareb used her Karen Burniston dies to create another Showstopper card, featuring Oscar's favourite Bluey characters Bingo, Indy, Missy, Coco and Bluey of course.  Oscar will absolutely love your card Karen, thank you so much for allowing me to share it XXX

I hope that you all have a great day, I have my very long awaited Urology appointment today !!

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sewn Tag

Good Wednesday Morning Ladies,

A beautiful day yesterday,  the weather was glorious,  Lucy and I had a lovely day out in Witney,  had a lovely brunch and a wander around the shops.

Today I am sharing a tag that I made on Monday, I started with a tag cut from watercolour card, I stamped the dotty background in grey ink and then stamped the flower, leaves and sentiments in Black ink.  I made sure it was dry before spritzing the Spray stains onto my craft mat and dipping the tag in the inks .. Saltwater Taffy, Salvaged Patina and Peeled Paint.  I dried the tag after each layer of ink.  When the ink was fully dry I added stitching around the tag and finished with seam binding ribbon that I coloured with Saltwater Taffy Spray stain.

TicTacToe Categories:  Inks/Dots/Tag

I hope that you have a lovely day in the sunshine,

Love and hugs to all

My First with stitching!!!

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope that you enjoyed the glorious sunshine yesterday,  Im looking forward to the warmer weather later this week too.

I didn't get out in the sun mind I spent the whole day at my desk, I got some stamps out that I hadn't really used and set out to make something with them.

For this card I used Tim Holtz 'Embroidery ' stamp,  firstly I used Vintage Photo oxide spitzed  and stamped a couple of the flower stems to create some background interest,  I dried that and then 'smooshed' Picked Raspberry and Bundled Sage onto my craft mat and gave them a spritz, I took my watercolour card and dipped it into the smooshed ink, drying between layer, I kept adding layers until I was happy, then I dried the whole thing and stamped that lovely flower stem in Ground Espresso Archival ink, I didn't feel the flowers needed colouring as they were luckily stamped over the Picked Raspberry ink,  I did use Bundled Sage Distress watercolour pencil for the leaves.   I added a little script stamp to add some interest and some little numbers from a different stamp set.

Finishing touches:  I finally took the plunge and hot Paul to set my sewing machine on my desk, it took me sometime to remind myself how to thread it !!  I then took bull by the horns and sewed around the card attatching it to the kraft card.  It's far from perfect or straight but i am happy with it.  I added a sentiment to finish.

I hope that you all have a great day,

Love & hugs to all of you,

Happy Monday my lovelies

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

I thought this card would be a bright a cheerful one to start the week off.

I hope that you all had a lovely Sunday,  we popped to a Farmers Market in Bourton,  it was a bit if a sad turn out but there was a great plant stall with really reasonable plants, so we bought some runner bean plants as we only have french beans, I also got a couple of plants for my pots!

Karen, how was your first Bowls match?  Did the trousers fit??? 🤣😂

Todays card is a Distress Spray Stain background, the colours are :  Festive Berries,  Spiced Marmalade and Mustard seed at the top.

The stamp is one I got from amazon at a very reasonable price, the make is 'Globeland'. After making sure the background was fully dry and dusted the background with antistatic and then inked the stamp with Versafine Clair Black ink and added Clear Embossing powder and heat set,  I popped a simple sentiment on to finish the card.

For the Challenge TicTacToe I used :  Flowers/Embossing powder/ Inks

In case you missed Saturdays post here is the TicTacToe for the challenge  ....

I hope that you all have a lovely day,  mine will be a slow one as we had a busy afternoon in the garden yesterday!

My love and hugs to all of you,

This weeks makes .

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

We had an absolutely delightful afternoon yesterday,  we really didn't do any crafting as such, apart from trying some different pencils brands.  It was so lovely just to sit and talk face to face, as usual the afternoon flew by.

Today we are going to Farmers Market locally (in Bourton) its apparently really popular, selling great local produce and plants of course.

What are you all up to today ??

Good Saturday Morning Ladies,

So excited to be meeting up with some of you today,  I wish it was ALL of you though. 🥰

Today's quote is so true and mostly the reason that we all do it.

Our Next Challenge

Lilian helped me by suggesting a Spring themed TicTacToe,  I couldn't find one that would work for us so I created one, I hope I have included something for everyone!

It's a great idea for a challenge and I can't wait to see what you all create.  Thank you Lilian XXX

Maria

Maria has had her beautiful Crystal Art picture framed and she has kindly shared it hung over the fireplace.  Its such a stunning scene with the reflections on the water.  It must have taken you ages to finish my lovely, it was worth every minute it took you though.

Thank you so much for sharing it with us my lovely XXX

I hope you all have a great Saturday,
