Mixed up Saturday

Good Saturday Morning Ladies,

Main thing I want to say today is that I hope & pray that you all stay safe from the storm this weekend,  they must be expecting it bad here as Reggie (the owner of the Wildlife Park ) has decided to close the park today, the acres of parkland has many huge trees so made the call after taking advice yesterday.   The upside we get a lovely, bonus family day!!  I think we are going to get the tree up and the girls want to decorate their rooms.

Gina

Gina has put her recovery time to good use, look at this gorgeous Baby Shawl.

She said that her fingers are too sore to knit but she could manage to crochet.

Your Baby Shawl is beautiful Gina, such a lovely design too!  Thank you so much for sharing it with us XXX

Lilian

Lilian treated herself to some new craft things this week.  I absolutely love that Tim Holtz stamp, I can't wait to see what you create with it.   The tags will be perfect for your continued Tag journey.  The paints will be perfect for your Gelli plate, they are the same ones I use.
Thank you so much for sharing your shopping with us XXX

Maria

Maria bought herself some ink pad storage from Temu,  I have looked at it but wasn't sure what it would be like......

Maria's Description:

Here is something for Saturday, this is a new buy from Temu and I'm very happy with it.  Took some time to arrive but that was ok. It came with some little screws and a screwdriver to hold it together .  All I need now is to label them up 😊

It looks perfect Maria, do you remember how much it was?  I need another two, so seeing your review I might order them from Temu.
Thank you so much for sharing your shopping with us XXX

Carry On Christmasing !!

Good Friday Morning Ladies,

Wow how is it Friday already?!  The weather looks miserable again for the weekend,  more rain and high winds.  We need to sit and get some Christmas presents organised this weekend, I think Paul is getting the Decorations out of the loft too as the girls have been asking for them.

We are going to 'Carry on Christmas' for this week as some of you are still busy making them.  Its lovely to see them too, I need something to get me in the 'spirit'.  Looking back I think I may have enough now, I'm happy to keep making though, I still have things that I haven't used.

I Hope you all have a fab Friday,

Love & hugs to All of you,

Embossed Christmas tree

Good Morning Ladies,

Well let's just say yesterday felt like it lasted a week,  my heart clearly wanted to put in a full performance for the ECG monitor,  I was woken about 8 times with my heart in full on AF episode,  then I as I was awake ny body decided we needed to go to the bathroom, I was already awake when Paul's alarm went off at 5am, he bought me a cup of tea at 6am and I tried to get back to sleep but it wasn't happening,  probably because I knew I had to get up to go back to the hospital to have the monitor removed.  The lady (Sally) was so lovely, I think we sometimes forget to mention the good service providers, they can make such a difference to how we feel at an appointment.   We now have to wait 2 weeks for the reading to be processed and sent back to GP.                                                                 Today's appointment is with Bridget the nurse to discuss/ have Merina coil.  I'm still not fully sure, but the thought of having no more "cycles", I was going to say monthly but they are more frequent than that, I am waiting on a scan appointment to check if there are any changes since that awful Hysteroscopy, because my symptoms are 10 times more painful and heavy than before the procedure!  Fingers crossed 'Merina' is the answer.

Today's card is quite a simple design, I took a piece of Kraft card and embossed it with the Tim Holtz Pine Embossing folder, then I took my 'lovely as  a tree stamp set' and stamped the Christmas tree in Rustic Wilderness and added the sentiment below in the same ink.  I layered the piece onto coordinating card and used a piece of Mossy Meadow twice to add some interest.

A close up of the little gem 'baubles' I added to tue tree for embellishment.

A quick close up of the embossed detail too!

I hope that you all have a good Thursday,

Love & hugs to all of you,

Good Wednesday Morning Ladies,

We had an early start to the day yesterday as I had to go get my 24hr ECG fitted,  it was a chilly start to the day and sitting on those cold leather seats in the car is like torture,  thankfully they are heated seats so they soon warm up and I was so glad they did.   The fitting of the monitor only took  couple of minutes,  oddly she had to rub my skin with sandpaper before attaching the stickers.  I have to return this morning to have it removed.

Today's card is another simple one, I used another piece of the core-dinations card, this time in green,  I ran it though a Christmas sentiment Embossing folder and then lightly sanded the tops off the embossing,  revealing the white core.  To finish the card I stamped a Tim Holtz sentiment onto white card and die cut with a flag tailed label,  I added some twine around the top of the tag to tie in the Kraft card colour, I added a piece of braided twine behind the label for interest.

Here is a closer look at the Embossing.

I hope that you all have a great day,

Love and hugs to all,

Simple Embossed Snowflake card

🥳 🎂🎉 Belated Birthday Wishes Gina  🎉🎂🥳

Good Morning Ladies,

Firstly an apology to our Gina, I write Sundays post as I get everyone's Cards during the week,  so it totally  didn't occur to me last Wednesday to add your birthday message,  I am so sorry my lovely x   I hope that you had an amazing birthday and that your were spoilt by your family.   I will say from experience that belated birthday wishes & cards are a great way to extend the celebrations 🎉    I think that you have to post cards more than a week before their birthday for it to stand a chance of arriving on time, even with First class postage,  for example I posted Karen's card 5 days before her birthday, used first class postage and it was 3 days late!  Its infuriating given the cost of postage.  Rest assured your card is on it's way my lovely XXX

Today's card was a quick card as Lucy and I had a long afternoon trying different methods of stamping and embossing the wedding invitations 🙄😔.  We did make progress and got some almost perfect !!  It was 6pm by the time I sat back at my desk.

I took a piece of 'Core-dinations' card, do you remember that from back in the day?? It's textured card with a coloured core,  these are Tim Holtz ones, so I guess that's chipped sapphire,  I ran it through a Spellbinders Snowflake embossing folder and then used a Sanding block to reveal the colour beneath,  it wasn't really showing so I took a Silver ink pad with the back of a piece of cut and dry foam, its really firm so makes it easier to glide over the embossing. After adding the silver ink, I added a piece of silver & white ribbon, I stamped a sentiment and die cut it with a label die, and tucked it into the ribbon & bow.  I added a few sparkles to the centres of the snowflakes to finish the card.

I hope that you all have a good day,

Love & hugs,

Sandra xxx

A different Christmas Pine branch card

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

Here we are at the start of a new week,  a busy one here, I have two appointments this week, one for a 24hr ECG and then Nurse on Thursday for Coil appointment, I felt a little more reassured after discussing things with her on Wednesday,  she thinks it will be good for helping manage HRT, it will provide the Progesterone part, not that I was aware that I needed HRT,  did you ladies have it?

I hope that you all had a nice relaxed weekend my lovelies, yesterday was very relaxed for me, Paul was busy out in the garden, we also have a major issue with our Fridge Freezer, its making a horrendous noise, I spent hours looking a new ones, Paul says he would prefer a seperate fridge and freezer for this very reason, if one goes wrong you wouldn't have to replace both.  I showed him a video of someone with the same issue so he spent hours trying to fix it. As I am writing this it is still a work in progress!!

Today's card was made using another colouring technique. which I will get to in a minute, first though I did the background, I put my piece of watercolour card in my splat box and spritzed it with Spray Stain in Iced Spruce and Speckled egg and a spritz of water. I heated to dry and then placed it in my stamping tool, (which is necessary for this technique). I stamped the pine branch in Rustic Wilderness and then I lined up the pine cone branch so that it fit perfectly over the stem of the first layer, I stamped the pine cones in Archival brown ink and then coloured the pinecones with Gathered Twig Oxide ink as this is opaque so you cannot see the pine fronds behind, now the issue with using opaque ink is that it hides all the detail of the stamp, but.... if you leave your card in place in your stamp tool you can ink up those pine cones again and stamp the detail over the top of the oxide ink, so you have all the detail back, you have coloured pine cones without the need to do any masking. Such a great idea, thank you Mr Holtz!! I added a spritz of mica spray over the whole piece to add some sparkle and added the sentiment in Archival Vintage photo, I mounted the card onto a Kraft Background to finish.

I hope that you all have a great start to your week,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra xxx
