Good Saturday Morning Ladies,
I hope that you are relaxed and ready to enjoy the weekend. No plans here, have any of you got anything exciting going on. I am expecting to hear fireworks all weekend, probably all next as well, whatever happened to it just being about Guy Fawkes on November 5th?!!
Today I am going to share some of the backgrounds that I have been making this week with you.
This first one was hard to photograph, it was made using Old Paper & Fossilised Amber Distress with a spritz of water and then dried and then I added Vintage Photo & Iced Spruce Oxide Spray
Now this one shows up looking purple but it isn't at all, I used Festive Berries, Fired Brick & Aged Mahogany Distress and then spritzed with water and dried, I then added Fired Brick & Peeled paint Oxides. I did add a bit of Distress Spritz on this one for added sparkle.
This one I used Forest Moss & Bundled Sage Distress and Pumice Stone & Mowed Lawn Oxides spritzed with water
Finally my favourite......
Now this one was a total experiment, I used Peeled Paint and Iced Spruce Distress spray for the background but then my creative brain went into overdrive, I wanted something sparkly, something more than a hint of sparkle, so what can I use, I fumbled around in my 'spray cupboard' and pulled out my Distress Resist spray, I knew it resists anything I put over it, I decided to add some Gold Embossing powder, just to see what happened, I set the piece to one side to dry completely, Once dry I got my heat tool and to see if the embossing powder would still melt, to my delight it did, however the effect was even better because the Resist Spray had 'resisted ' the embossing powder by pushing it to the outside perimeter of the dots of resist spray, highlighting the colour underneath, the melted embossing powder highlighted the little spots of distress.
To me it looks like you are looking down at earth from space!!! I know, I know, I need to get out more, I am getting way too excited about a bit of inking and embossing 🤣😂😳
You know what they say about 'little things pleasing little minds ' 🤣😂
I now have to decide what to create with then now!
I hope that I have inspired you to have a go at inky backgrounds.
Have a lovely weekend my dear friends,
Love & Hugs to all of you,
Sandra xxx
I love today’s saying I am certainly a hero when it comes to “hoarding” stuff!
ReplyDeleteYour backgrounds look tremendous I definitely need to give myself some craft time to just create backgrounds
We don’t have much planned today I hope to make a real dent on the second twin’s cardigan but my hands can only take so much knitting/strain at a time
Take care everyone xx
Hello all another dull day.
ReplyDeleteBeen to have our flu and our covid jabs this morning, so far no ill effects, totally painless.
Called into Lidl on the way home, am always surprised how fresh everything looks, compared to Asda which looked a complete mess the other day. First time I’ve actually been live shopping, for nearly two yrs. so glad I do home delivery.
Sandra love your backgrounds, that’s one things I fail at, more end in the bin than keep. Like the idea of the cardboard box, will have to give that a go.
Nothing on this afternoon so might have a go at spraying some backgrounds.
Have a good rest of the day, Lilian
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteBeautiful background pieces, love how they all sparkle.
I hope that you all have a nice Saturday with thhe family and perhaps had some time crafting. I have not been up very long. Got up at 8am but back to bed by 10am and so tired all day.
Sending hugs to you all, Maria xx
