Back to wet & chilly weather yesterday, I spent the whole day at my desk getting lost in my crafting.
What better way to take your mind off of everything, it was a quiet day as Paul was in the office.
I decided to make a Journal page today for a change, I used a Tim Holtz stamp set called "Flight of Fancy" I bought it from a lovely lady called Julie on FB craft selling group, I also used my Crackle paste that I have had for months and not gotten around to using. I started by using a piece of acetate to smoosh ink onto my background, drying between layers, which helps to give the look of texture, next I used a stencil to add more detail in the same colours. I stamped the details next and allowed those to dry, I then went in with some crackle paste that I coloured Tumbled glass distress oxide, I used it through the same stencil as I used for the ink.
I added similar detail to the journal page that I was putting the piece on. The final touches were the little clip and the pen nib, that I used to merge the two pieces together.
Maria I hope that you and Rick have a lovely time in Edinburgh xxx
Sending love and hugs to all of you,
Sandra

This is fabulous and how lovely to get lost in your crafting I finished a couple of Tracy Evans Snippets (using my version of stamps etc) and it was lovely to get lost in a world of inks, stamps and colouring if only for 20 mins or so
ReplyDeleteHave a great time Maria
Take care everyone xx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteFabulous journel page. Love how you made it with all different layers.
I wish you all a lovely long weekend and that the weather is holding up.
We are on our second trek of the journey up to Edinburgh, had to change train in Manchester. Sadly our weather report doesn't look good but to have a few days with my half sister and celebrate her birthday together will be lovely .
Take care everyone and have a nice day. Many hugs to you all, Maria xxx

Wet, windy, cold and miserable weather here. Mark came home and put the heating back on! Fingers crossed it improves over the weekend.

ReplyDeleteGreat journal page, love all the layers you have used. Crackle paste is one of my favourite mediums , I most get back to using it again.
Managed to do a card today, first crafting for ages.
Sleep well all Lilian
Great journal page Sandra, you certainly know how to make your chosen colours work with each other.
