Your Monday Challenge!!!

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all well if not I hope that this week brings better health to those of you that have been under the weather and some relief to those of you in pain.

I decided to go for a 'Tic Tac Toe' Challenge for this week, there are so many it was a tough choice, I narrowed it down to two, I sent both to Michele to ask her opinion and we decided on this one, I hope all of you enjoy coming up with a design for it.  I did think it would mean a break from Christmas cards but I think you could use it for those too. For instance a 'Bow/Scallop/ rectangle ' could be a combination for any card, using a scalloped circle die for a Sentiments etc.

I was 'commissioned' to make an 18th Birthday card an hour before it was needed to be boxed and out the door yesterday, the girls came home from work, had an hour to get showered and changed and as Lucy was running to the shower she asked "if I had an 18th birthday card ready", of course I don't have age specific cards in my large stash but agreed to get one made, this one was for a 'Girly girl' so I went for pink.  I will share the card with you later in the week.
As a result of my last minute card making session I didn't get my challenge card finished but I will share it with you tomorrow.
If you need any inspiration you can put 'Tictactoe challenge 003' into Pinterest or your search engine and you will get something to inspire you.
I love seeing all of your designs for these challenges as unlike a sketch challenge your cards are all completely different.

We had a letter on Saturday notifying of us that we have to represent ourselves in Court on 15th December, to explain why we haven't moved out, we were advised that if we don't show up they will find in favour of the Housing company, they also charge us £355 for the privilege! So we have to prepare for that, I was thinking of letting Paul go on his own but I think it may be better if we both go, I suggested that Paul remind them that they know how difficult it is to find to find a suitable adapted property, because they made us live for almost three years with me having no access to a bedroom or bathroom! We had our bed in the lounge, which with Paul working 12 hour shifts was a complete nightmare.  So they must have an idea of the problem we face.
I hate having things like this hanging over us, I just can't think about anything else, we are usually fairly organised for Christmas by now but I can't even think about it this year, I am beginning to sound like my mother, oh dear!!

I do have some exciting news however........

Free shipping from Stampin'Up! So if there is ANYTHING you would like to order you have until 11pm tonight to order and pay NOTHING for p&p!!!
So even if only want to order an ink pad and matching card, you can with no postage or something from the Clearance Rack its worth a quick look!!

Have a lovely day,

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra

  1. Morning Sandra and ladies from a very windy and rainy MK and I'm sure it's pretty cold as well but don't go out until 2pm for lunch, not sure where yet but after weigh in yesterday it will have to be a salad, up,up and up the last few weeks :>(
Saturdays craft and all shopping you ladies have made were all lovely. Love Janet's card with the mixed media and Brenda your cards for the grandchildren are fab !
Karen, hope you alright and yesterday was ok, I was thinking of you all. Glad you had a nice time cardmaking with friends and I love the backgrounds.
Val and Wendy, what a lovely thing to be making cards for children with cancer and that you putting a little picture of your pets Val to cheer them up a little through their struggles.
Lynda, hope you ok. Doing the floor works but do not like it much but doing some of them on the bed is a bit tricky and wobbly tihi so best on the floor.
Had a great time on Sat. at the workshop but now have 2 cards to finish before sending them to Sandra to show you. On that night I went to bed just after 8.30 and slept to 8am Sun. morning so some of the late night was catching up. Tiding up and cleaning the house yesterday took the rest of the day to do. Still got some things to put away this morning and hope to make some cutting outs before SIL are here for the day. I wish you all a nice day and sending many hugs to you all, love Maria xxxx

    1. Hi Maria
I'm glad that you had a lovely time at Julia's workshop. I'm glad that the exercises are working even if you don't like doing them on the floor.
Lovely and sunny again here today although it did rain through the night. Must try and crack on making up my Christmas cards though.
We went to Doreen's on Friday and found her crying. I though it might be because of what the Dr at the hospital said.
But apparently Ellis's neices husband who always visit here, passed away on Friday. He had a funny turn and his wife Margaret called the ambulance. However, they took him to Banbury as they live in Chipping Norton. He was having a heart attack so he had to then go to the JR. so by the time he got there they couldn't save him. Margaret doesn't drive and her family live away so she's going to be stuck for transport.
He was a lovely man and drove people to hospital, Drs, and to do there shopping. He'll be sadly missed.

  2. Morning Ladies

I think this is a great Tic Tac Toe for our challenge-no idea what I’ll make though.

Sandra-I can’t believe that you have to go to court. I totally understand about not being prepared for Christmas with this problem hanging over you.

It’s still raining and it’s very windy here again today, hope it improves soon.

  3. Morning everyone,

Wild, wet, windy and very cold here in Cannington, I don't think I will be venturing outside today at all. The leaves are falling as fast as the rain so when it dries a little Later this week there will mountains of them to clear up.

Love the tic tac toe challenge, I might actually make one this week. I have decided as I rise earlier these days I will making a couple of cards each morning to play catch up. I finished my batch cards last Sunday and found I had made a total of 62, I think that might cover it for this year.

Good luck in Court Sandra, you should also stress how unhelpful the Council is being in not finding you alternative accommodation.

    Love 7 hugs

  4. Morning Everyone
Yes it's windy/raining and cold so a normal Monday morning.
    - thank you for this week's challenge. Will have to get my little grey cell working hard.

It's Mr Tesco morning and then I have to get a parcel ready to send off to the Netherlands to get there before Dec 5th (St.Nicholas day or Sinterclaus as it's known by them). Jim's eldest Nephew is married to a Dutch girl and they have two children so we send small presents for them and then they celebrate the 25th as well.

The CAFE is OPEN nice and warm and ready for you all. HUGS are on their way to you all with extras for Dear Friends in need.xxxx

  5. Hi Sandra and ladies.
Really like looking at the tic tac toe challenge cards.
Good news that you've at long last got a court hearing date. Mind you they could have waited until after Christmas at least. Not to sure what all the hurry is apart from causing as much upheaval as they can.

  6. Hi Sandra and all,
Glad your court date has arrived but my what timing just before Christmas. They ought to be ashamed of themselves and as Cheryl said, getting the press involved is a great idea. Thinking of you and Paul and sending hugs to you at this very trying time.xxx
Many thanks for the great cc this week. Lots to choose from.

Just got back from having my Lipoma removed. I've just said to Wendy that the thought of having it was a lot worse that the actual procedure. It's a bit sore now as the anaesthetic has just worn off so I'm just having a coffee and some paracetamol. May have lost an extra pound or two at tomorrow's weigh in.

    Hugs to all.

  8. Hello Sandra this,
Like the choices in this Tic tac toe challenge, I did look on Pinterest they had a few ideas but nothing that jumped out at me, so I’ll just have to put my thinking cap on.
Sandra you really are the super mum, doing a box card within the hour for your girls. NOW if it were me I’d be still trying to decide what paper so that had no chance of getting on so quickly. I hope you’ve got a big hug and thank you XX

I haven’t got a lot done today I did spend a long time looking at all the StampinUp goodies. Anyway I’ve placed an order on the web. I know I’ll be delighted when it comes.

Must get on haven’t made the dinner yet.
Love and hugs to everyone Brenda XXX

  10. Hi Sandra and all in the Café tonight. Wow, how do you manage to turn a card around in less than an hour? I know using Stampin' Up matching colours help you but I would never be able to make a last minute card that quickly, and I know it will be loved by its recipient.
I'm.looking forward to seeing your inspirational card for this week's Tic Tac Toe challenge tomorrow in the flesh. I will be using it to make the cards that must get sent to Canada by the end of the week so please make me do it tomorrow. But then again I love trying out techniques etc with you on a Tuesday so we will see 😊 I'm sorry your court date is before Christmas but I'm keeping everything crossed that you have a sensible judgement made. I don't see why you wouldn't when they hear what you have been through for those 3 years of no bedroom or bathroom and the reason why you can't just move into any old house now. Sending big gentle supportive hugs my lovely. See you in the morning xx
Lynda and Lilian, I hope you are both ok and it is just daily life delaying your visit here xx
I hope you have all stayed warm and dry today. It was much warmer here than it was yesterday that's for sure!
Well, I'm off to make a start on some cards. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Sandra and all in need. Take care xx
