A little card to brighten your day !

Good Morning Ladies,

I thought I'd brighten your day with a pretty floral card today, I made this card using the Stampin'Up 'Flower Shop' stamp set and the 'Pansy Punch'.
I took a piece of white card and randomly stamped the 'scribbly looking flower' from the detail set in 'Calypso Coral' ink, I cut the piece to size and mounted onto a matching 'Calypso Coral' Matt, I stamped a Thank you at the top of the card created a pretty border with the 'Ribbon Border' punch, which I topped with a piece of Calypso Coral 'ombre' ribbon. My Embellishment for this card is a punched out matching flower.
I hope you like it.

Our holiday seems to be going so fast, we only have 3 whole days left here, we set off in the journey home on Sunday afternoon, staying overnight in Millau and then travelling through France to Paris on Monday where we stay over for the second night, we catch our Ferry on Tuesday Afternoon, hopefully there won't be any delays this year, we were making great time last year until we got to the Motorway at the Calais Port entrance, the police had closed the motorway as there were a group of immigrants in the field beside the motorway that they were trying to round up.
We didn't see as many immigrants on our way out of Calais but there were still quite a few groups hanging around on roundabouts etc.

I will be sad when our holiday is over but happy to get home so that I can get myself to the bathroom and get into my craft room.
My fingers are itching to craft!

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

The First of my Amazing Birthday cards

Good Morning Ladies,

The one thing about having my birthday  on holiday is that I get to celebrate more than once, it's the same with my cards, I had a few to bring away with me so had the excitement of opening them on the day and I then have the rest to look forward to when I get home.  So while getting back from holiday and sorting through the mail is usually a proper task, I can't wait to find the mail pile, I sort it into two piles, ordinary post, bills etc. and then 'Happy mail' for both Paul and myself.

Today's card is the first of my Amazing  50th Birthday cards from our lovely  Michele, it is a 'twist and pop' style card, Michele has made it perfectly, the mechanism works smoothly and the decoration is just stunning, having it personalised made it extra special too, I know some of the dies are the 'China' dies,
Is the printed front and back from a Cdrom Michele? You have of course used my favourite colour which works perfectly with the silver and grey.
A truly stunning gift Michele, thank you so
much, i was blown away xxxx

Yesterday was a 'scorcher' here, it started off with a white mist covering all bills and a mountain nearby, it looked quite spooky,
It was also VERY warm/humid day with no breeze to cool things down, until the afternoon, then it picked up and there were umbrellas and lilo's flying everywhere!
We stayed on the beach until about 7pm, then came back and cooked dinner!
I have bought you all a postcard, but then discovered that stamps cost €1.35 each, so I will post them when I get back to UK! Daylight robbery!

I hope that you are all well,

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra

Janet's Challenge cards

Good Morning Ladies,

I didn't receive Janet's email contains her Challenge cards until Sunday morning, so I thought instead of adding them in and risk them not being seen, I so would give them their own post.

Janet made two stunning cards, the first using the categories.....
Blue/Embossing/Floral, oh Janet what a stunning Embossing Folder, is it one of the new Crafters Companion '3D' ones? It is so detailed and beautifully Embossed, it needs nothing else, a gorgeous card!

Janet's second card uses the categories...... 'Circles/Blue/ Floral' (I think). What a stunning card Janet, I love the Tonic Circle die you have used, the silver works so well that gorgeous background too, that card shape works well too, showing off all the detail of the card.
Thank you so much for making 2 amazing Challenge cards.

How are you all getting on with this weeks Challenge? Have you decided on what style card you are going for?

Thank you for all of your lovely birthday messages, they really made my day,
We had a lovely day at the beach followed by a trip Pals old town and then dinner out, a truly lovely day x

I hope you all had a lovely day,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

Michele's Monday Sketch Challenge

Good Morning Ladies,

Michele has been an absolute sweetheart and Chosen a Sketch Challenge for this week, it looks a fantastic one too, perfect for so many different occasions including those Christmas cards, there are 17 more weeks until December 25th so we need to make a conscious effort to get the started, having said that I'm usually the one panic card making on the second week of December, working in absolute chaos as I try to find a style I like, I don't tend to batch make Christmas cards, I like doing different cards for different people (which does make extra work) but I love it!

Anyway back to this weeks Challenge, a lovely simple sketch, you could have a row of pretty Snowflakes across the bottom and a pretty Christmas paper on top with a lovely festive ribbon in the centre!  I really miss making the challenge cards each week, I have been sat sketching out ideas for my designs, I think I might use the Challenges to inspire me when I get back, as they have been fantastic challenges.

Michele has made two lovely cards to inspire you, the first is a gorgeous Christmas card, Michele has used the sketch the other way up, which is perfectly acceptable, you could turn it sideways too!  Three pretty Christmas toppers and a sentiment fill the circles of the sketch, the border has been made using  printed ribbon and some stunning Paper gives that touch of luxury at the bottom, I love the colours you have used Michele, pretty soft links, beautiful.
Michele's second card has a row of pretty potted herbs,  on a beautiful green decorative paper background, the images remind me of a "Jane Shasky" CDROM I bought from Joanna Sheen a few years ago, it has gorgeous herbs and pretty flowers with some stunning background papers too.
Two absolutely fantastic Challenge cards Michele, thank you so very much for all the time you have put into both choosing the challenge (which takes hours) and making the cards to inspire you us all too.

When I get back and get myself sorted (we get back late Tuesday night 5/9), I thought I would offer you all the chance to choose a our Challenge each week, I know Michele has said she enjoys it, I do too.  It isn't compulsory or anything like that but if any of you fancy choosing a sketch or 'Tic Tac Toe' grid from Pinterest and making a sample card to go with it just let me know.

I'm not sure what our plans are today, I just can't decide where to go for dinner tonight, I know it's supposed to be a 'Big deal' reaching 50, I can't justify spending too much money on dinner out, so watch this space, I will let you know, there are a few reasonably priced restaurants around, I'll have a look in some reviews, we went to a supposedly 'fantastic' restaurant on the beach not far from here a few years back and had what we thought was a traditional paella, when it came out I was instantly disappointed in the amount of seafood and when we started to eat it it was just a lot of rice with diced squid, that could easily have been mushrooms, they had little taste and a very odd texture, my girls adore any seafood so they were hugely disappointed, we had I large prawn and a couple of mussels each, the meal for the 4 of us was well over £100 (I think it was about 5 years ago), since then I have bought fresh local seafood and cooked it myself in a traditional paella pan we bought a few years back.
Paul and I are going to London to celebrate my birthday when we get back so I can wait until then for a special night out.

Have a fantastic day, however you are spending it,

Love and hugs,

Sandra

Your Challenge cards

Michele's Challenge card (1)

Michele's Challenge card (2)

The Challenge

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

Michele very kindly organised this week's Challenge for all of you and you have made some absolutely amazing cards for it, so let's get started......

Karen

Karen's Challenge card(s) are stunning, I just love the floral image you have used, it's unusual and I love how you have picked parts of the image out to highlight in the circles, I will now hand over to Karen to give you all the details........

"
The images is from an old MCS CD-ROM I changed one to blue and tinted one in colour I cut the circles on ScanNCut.
I laid out out pieces to create a birthday card. So it could also be
Circle/birthday/favourite colour - always blue
I've added a couple of an extra photo because I quite liked the the effect of the blue background without the circle etc
Now they've been photographed I think I would leave the white (no colour) circle off. I think it'd be a better balance"

Thank you so much Karen, I am certain that your colleague will love her leaving card!
XXX

Val

Val has chosen to make a Christmas Challenge card this week, using the categories ...'Blue, Circles & Dry Embossing' for her design. Such a cute Christmas scene, the finishing touches (Christmas Roses, little blue gems and that gorgeous fibre you have added to your tag) really give the card the 'WOW' factor!
Thanks so much Val.
XXX

Lilian

Lilian, your card is stunning, as always!, Lilian chose the categories....'Circles, Blue & Floral' for her design.  Everything about your card works Lilian, I love how you have placed the foliage and the flowers you have added look like they were where nature would have placed them.  The embossed bar across the bottom adds just the right amount of detail, it looks as though the flowers are clambering over a trellis fence.
Thank you so much, good to see your Mojo returning!
XXX

 Michele

Michele's challenge card (other than the other two), using the categories.......
'Blue/dry Embossing/ Masculine.
Love this man card Michele, that Embossing Folder is amazing, perfect back ground for your card.
Thank you so much
XXX

Brenda

Brenda's Challenge card made using the categories 'Blue/Circles/Dry Embossing, wow Brenda I love those Circle Stamps with the foliage in, perfect for either Male or female recipient, I love the double sided ribbon too. Absolutely stunning card, thank you so much for taking part.
XXX

Maria

Maria has made two cards for this weeks Challenge, the first using categories Circles/Happy Birthday/ Die cuts, green is my favourite colour Maria so I love this card, love that Kraft card background too.
Maria's second card uses categories 'Blue/Masculine/Happy Birthday.  What a fantastic stamped image Maria, perfect card for teens or men, love the shade of blue too!
Thank you for making time for Challenge before your trip away, have a lovely time.

Lynda

Lynda has managed two Challenge cards this week too,
The first card was made using categories 'Ribbon/Embossing/Birthday' such a lovely card Lynda and I absolutely adore that gorgeous Spellbinders Tag you have used.
Lynda's second card was made using the categories 'Circles/Christmas/ favourite colour'.  Another of your stunning double 'Z' fold cards, this time decorated with a beautiful Dove and pretty Snowflakes, I love that rich red background colour too Lynda.  Thank you so much for taking part.

Mixed Craft Saturday

Good Saturday Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all well and relaxed ready for the Bank Holiday weekend, what are you all up to?
We had another lovely beach day, the sea was a little choppier than normal today but I still managed a good hour in the sea with Paul and the girls, it's my most favourite part of the holiday because i feel a little more 'normal' in that I can join in a ball game with them as the I can move so much easier in the sea water, getting out is the biggest challenge, but worth the struggle all the same.
Anyway we have a fantastic selection of photos to look at today, so here we go.......

Pat

Pat says that she can't do 'random stamping' but the first card today proves that you absolutely can do 'random stamping' Pat, I love your card, made using a variety of Stampin'Up! Background stamps including "Touches of Texture', a perfect man card Pat!
Your second card is beautiful, I absolutely love the die you have used, is it one of the Crafters Companion ones that you got with your Gemini?? The Stampin'Up! 'Vertical Greetings' stamp works perfectly for your sentiment.
The last two Photos are of Pat's Granddaughter Amber's new puppy....I'll let Pat explain.....
"This is Ambers new dog. It's a Shitzu/dachshund cross called Minnie. She saved up and bought it herself. She'd saved nearly £1000.00 to buy one, but this one only cost £450.00 Up in Liverpool. I though it would do for a day while you were on holiday."
Minnie is so adorable Pat, I know that Amber has wanted a puppy for so long, she will really be a spoilt little thing, poor Karen though, just another pet to add to the already huge menagerie!!
Thanks for sharing Pat
XXX

Maria

Maria sent me a lovely selection of cards to use while I was away and today I would like to share 3 cards that would be perfect for Men.
The first one is my favourite I think, mainly because of the amount of detail you have put into the card, I love that grey crackled background Maria, it works perfectly with the Nautical theme of the card, then there is the amazing 'Port Hole ' focal point, with the yacht bobbing about on the waves, the sentiment and Anchor Embellishment are the details that bring the card together perfectly, I love it!
Now Horoscope themed cards would be great to have in your card collection as they can work brilliantly for either males or females, I absolutely love that background you have made using a mask, the die you have used is one of my favourites!
The BBQ Apron card that you have made for 'Glenn' is brilliant Maria, a great summer birthday card, the wood effect embossing folder gives it that real masculine feel!
The amazing, inspirational cards Maria, thank you so much for sharing, I wish you would do it more often as your cards are brilliant!
XXX

Janet

I'm pretty sure I have shown at least one for these photos of Janet's before but I wanted to get you to look beyond the beautifully decorated Ink storage rack to the set of drawers in the background, just look how much detail our lovely Janet puts into every corner of her craft space, jars that would be thrown in the recycling have been 'Altered' into beautiful tool storage pots. I can't imagine there's anything Janet can't embellish with lace and transform it to a thing of beauty!
Thank you so much Janet, your craft space is an inspiration! That's why the cafe always looks so inviting!
XXX

Karen

Karen visited the Stamperama show last weekend, these are some of her purchases, I will let Karen explain her buys......

"The BIRTHDAY plaques are to make Christmas presents for my sister in law and daughter. The idea is you hang little hearts on the appropriate month with their name and date. I bought an extra bag of hearts and the whole lot cost £10
I wanted to get some sparkle pens and apparently Wink of Stella will work on inkjet printed images / we'll see!
I bought the Tonic ink pad (sorry StampinUp) because they are described as hybrid pads meaning You can use both alcohol pens and water colour pens and it won't smudge. As you know I don't stamp very often and I get confused (that's easy for me) as to what goes with what!
I couldn't resist the Crafters Companion folder as it is my go to card size AND there were some lovely examples on show using these That was another bargain at £3.49 Other stalls were selling them at 3 for £15
There were quite a few companies there that appear on Hochanda. All in all it was a lovely event - not too big and plenty of room, cheap entry too £2. We bought our tickets in advance so didn't have to queue either."

I can't wait to see the Birthday plaques when you have finished altering them, I know they will look amazing! The tonic ink pads are a great idea too.

Thank you so much for sharing your buys Karen

 Val

Val sent us a photo of her lovely Spanish Craft Club, run by the super talented Wendy of course!  You get to use and try so many different techniques at your craft club, a lot of which you probably wouldn't bother with yourself, nothing beats crafting with friends does it?!

Thank you so much Val for giving us a glimpse of your crafting club, I think we all wish we could come and join you !

Thank you to all of you that have taken part today!

Have a lovely weekend ladies,

Love and hugs to all of you

Festive Card Friday

Good Morning Ladies,

How are you all today, my goodness this week has flown, it barely seems 24 hours that I was doing Monday's Challenge post!
How are your Challenges coming along? I have had one or two already and they are gorgeous! I am so pleased that I found those 'Tic Tac Toe' Challenges, as they are a great tool for getting you card making if you have had a bit of a loss of 'Mojo'.

Today's card was made using the Stampin'Up! 'Star of Light' Stamp set and matching dies, I took some 'Very Vanilla' card and adhered it to a Matt of Gold Glitter card, I then took another piece of VV card and Embossed it with the 'Softly Falling' Embossing Folder, I popped a piece of gold glitter behind that too and mounted it across the centre of my card, I then stamped a sentiment from the Stamp set just underneath it. To embellish the card I die cut a Star in glitter card and then die cut the decorative layer in very vanilla card and popped it on the top of glitter star, I mounted this on the central bar.
I hope you like it.

Have any of you made a start on your Christmas cards?, I have that to do when I get back.!

We are off out to do some touristy things today, maybe have lunch out too, which will save cooking tonight, we only have simple salad and BBQ meat type meals but boy it's hot cooking in this heat!

I hope you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs,

Sandra

Yellow and Grey, perfect combination !!

Good Morning Ladies,

Today is my Son's 25th Birthday, Happy Birthday Matt, I hope you have a fantastic day xxxx

I just can't enough of the yellow and grey backgrounds, I will give you a tip though, when you are playing around making these backgrounds always make a few spares while you are in the 'zone' you have all the inks and stamps out, you may as well make the most of it.  I had this background left over from when we had the 'Tic Tac Toe' Challenge with grey and yellow as two of the options, grey works well with turquoise, pink, red too, I feel like I have been missing out not using it all these years!  Haha!!
I used 'Touches of Texture' stamp set (SU) and the background from the 'Graceful Garden' stamp set too (the lattice looking stamp). I stamped them all in Grey and yellow and matted and layered the card to compliment those colours.
I then die cut the 'Happy Birthday' in grey and yellow and used the grey as a drop Shadow behind the yellow to make it stand out more.  I hope you like it X

Paul and the girls seem to have mastered the Paddle board although Paul just kneels when in the sea, he's fine on the river, standing up and whizzing along like a pro,
The sea is quite rough here at times so keeping upright can be a challenge, the girls are out on it for hours, one using the oar the other relaxing on the front.
I stick to swimming in the sea, I can't quite manage clambering onto boards, boats etc, it's a sight that nobody needs to see ! Hahaha

Pat, I hope your sounds are starting to heal my love, I still can't get my head around the diagnosis, that lump on your hand appeared so quickly, I just thought it was your psoriasis breaking out, sending love and hugs to you xxxx

Maria, I hope you are on the mend too, hopefully starting to feel the benefit of having your procedure done, sending love to you too xxxx

Lilian, I hope you are getting stronger by the day and that your AF is back under control, are you managing to get any crafting done yet, I hope you are feeling up to it as it's so relaxing, love and hugs xxxx

Lynda I hope that you, Terry and poor Bambi are feeling better, it's so worrying when our pets are poorly, they are so helpless aren't they, sending love and hugs to all not you xxxx

Michele, sweetheart, I just don't know what to say, your place seems to be going down hill fast, I hope the visit was a success! Keep your chin up my lovely xxxx

Well I must go and pack the beach bag, have a lovely day whatever you are up to!

Love and hugs,

Sandra

Lynda's double 'Z' food card

Good Morning Ladies,

Lynda sent me the photos of this card at the weekend, I was so inspired by the style of the card I just couldn't wait.

This shaped card is called a 'Double Z Fold' card, you simply score  the front of your card down the centre and fold it back,
You then have a 'Z' shape, to make it a 'Double' z fold you add another, smaller card or strip of card and adhere one side of it to the back of the card and the other to the folded front, you then decorate it to compliment your  base card design, just like Lynda has done.
Lynda has used the Stampin'Up! 'Beautiful you' stamp set to create that stunning topper, you have coloured that lady and the background beautifully Lynda, the rest of the card is covered in gorgeous decorative papers, a SW Butterfly and Striped Nasturtium flowers.  A truly stunning card Lynda, thank you so much for sharing it with all of us XXX

Paul and Sophie had a good session on the Paddle board on Monday, Paul has taken to riding it down the river that runs along the camp site, it eventually comes out into the sea, after which it is calm any longer! The sea has turned decidedly rougher, so I was relieved to see they were wearing their life jackets, Sophie fell in a few times, which was hilarious!

I hope that you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs

Sandra

Weather Together

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all well and those of you that aren't 100% are feeling a little better today.

I have to say that I absolutely love how this card turned out, I'm not usually one for blowing my own trumpet but I do love this card!!
I made it using the Stampin'Up! 'Weather Together' stamp set with matching dies.
First I stamped the umbrella onto my card and then I die cut the 'Lemon Lime twist' dotty card with the matching die to create the parasol part of the umbrella, using some of the fancy edge dies that come in the set, I added tiny little Berry Burst dots to the white edge.  I then stamped the flowers to look as though they are spilling out of the upturned umbrella! I coloured these with 'Tempting Turquoise', 'Berry Burst' and 'Lemon Lime Twist' inks.  I added a few dots and hearts around the flowers too.
I finished the card with 'Berry Burst' seam binding ribbon, finished with a matching flower!
I hope you you like it as much as I do!

I hope you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs

Michele's Monday 'Tic Tac Toe' Challenge

Good Morning Ladies,

Michele has very kindly chosen this weeks Challenge for you, she has chosen
a fantastic 'Tic Tac Toe' Challenge, you could use it to make just about any type of c
card, including as Michele has demonstrated 'Christmas' cards!
Michele's first card uses 'Circles, Blue &  Florals' which she has used to make an amazing Christmas card, the second card Michele has used the top row 'Circles, Birthday & Favourite Colour' to create a fantastic Birthday card.
I absolutely love these challenges as they are so versatile and can be used to create just about any kind of project.  I will say however, that it takes hours to choose the 'perfect' one, so I would like to thank Michele for going to the trouble of both choosing the Challenge and making cards to inspire us all.  Thank you very much Michele xxxx

Today is the start of our second week here in Spain, that first week absolutely whizzed by!  I think that everyone has just about managed to unwind and relax,
It's so lovely to see Paul doing things purely for pleasure rather than working and doing chores at home, that in itself makes my holiday.  Although it also pleases me to see the girls chilled out and relaxed without the huge burden of homework and studying!

I hope that you all have a fantastic week and that you enjoy Michele's Challenge, I look forward to seeing all of your emails and messages popping up with your Challenge cards in, I love 'Happy Mail' !!

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra

Your Challenge cards

Good Morning Ladies,
Your Challenge this week was to make a card using just one colour, other than Your base card colour, I used "Lemon Lime Twist' for my Challenge card, I am lucky in that I have the Ink, card, Ribbon and matching Designer Series papers That are all the same colour, which is one of the best things about
Stampin'Up! products.

Anyway let's get on and see your cards........

Karen

Four fantastic cards from Karen this week, the first is a lovely
Christmas card, I do love that background paper Karen!
Here is Karen's description for the first card:
"This card is one I made especially for the challenge and includes a free die from Papercraft Essentials. The Poinsettia and a snipped into Merry Christmas die by Sue W"
The second card is an amazing 'pesky man' card, using different shades
of blue in those lovely matching papers, a fantastic 'Happy Birthday' with a shadow behind it, making it stand out even more, another effect that you hardly notice but it adds So much detail to the card is the blue splats, I love them too!
Third card Karen made using B&Q paint charts and Spellbinders butterfly dies, fantastic idea of yours Karen that I have used myself.
The last card is a beautiful Butterfly, die cut in pink and recessed into a
Blue/Green SW Noble die cut frame with a stunning pattern paper behind .
Thank you so much Karen

Lilian

Lilian's card is so beautiful, I adore that delicately patterned

Janet

Three stunning cards from Janet this week, the first is a beautiful, typical 'Sue' Wilson' style Card, using exclusively 'Sue Wilson' products, I have to say I kind of miss seeing Sue make her original style cards, we used to be wowed every day with the pretty bows, flowers, stick pins etc.
Janet the shades of blue in your second card are just fabulous, its almost 'electric' blue, every part of the card works perfectly, I love the guitar and that musical note, Are they dies??
I saved the 'WOW' card until last, what a stunner, I would have never of thought it using the 'Silouhette' die cut in white on a white background but omg it works beautifully, I'm not sure what the edge dies are, I thought maybe Crafters Companion but I'm sure You'll put me right!! An absolutely exquisite card Janet, Thank you so much
XXX
