Your Sketch Challenge Cards

The Sketch

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

My favourite day of the week, as I get to share all of your amazing cards, so I will get straight on with it......

Lynda

Lynda has gone for Pretty floral theme this week, I have to say Lynda it looks like you have used fabric to make your card, I love the stamped floral images, you have got a lot of texture and depth by using the same pattern in different ways.  Thank you so much for taking part XXX

 Michele

Michele used free papers and images from Making Cards Magazine (Feb 2017) for this weeks Challenge card, I love the colour combination, the feathers, flags and other embellishments work perfectly Michele, you always amaze me when it comes from making cards from free magazine stuff, I chuck them all in a drawer and never use them, you really bring the best out in the freebies!  Thank you so much XXX

JANET

Janet, such a pretty card, I love that topper you have chosen, it looks like the photo was taken where you park your bike outside the café every morning, your basket is full of flowers for the tables, you really are the best cafe manager! 😉😉😘
Seriously though, you have embellished the card beautifully with those little flowers and the pretty bow  appliqué. Thank you my lovely, safe journey, enjoy every mile, XXX
 Maria

Maria, a perfect card to brighten somebody's day, i love the colours you have used and those flowers look like Hydrangeas, I used to live seeing them in my nan's garden, some pink and some purple.  Your little banner is perfect for sentiments too.
Thank you so much for taking part XxX

Brenda

Brenda has been playing with some of her Stampin Up stash for this weeks Challenge card, she has used all StampinUp products, well not counting the card itself. The background I stamped from Avent Garden using Smoky Slate and Calypso Coral ink pads. Happy Birthday is from number of years stamp set. I also used Calypso Coral to colour the ribbon. The papers are from Little Foxy designer paper stack. Absolutely stunning card Brenda so love it XXX

 Val

Val's card has a stunning colour theme this week, I adore that blue card, its stunning and your topper matches perfectly too, what is that Embossing Folder that you have used, It's so nice!! The little bit of ribbon and gem stones add that little touch of Luxury, thank you so much for taking part XXX

 Margaret

Margaret has chosen the same stamp set as I used to on my Challenge card, well they do say that great minds think alike!!! 😉
I love all of the texture you have achieved by using a linen like card, the ink has enhanced all the texture, lovely colouring too.  Thank you so much for taking part XXX

 Karen

Karen, a real WOW card from you this week, your Friends and Colleagues must be so thrilled to receive such amazing personalised cards, I love this one very much.  Here is Karen's description of her card:

So, here's my CC I used Spellbinders Celebration Paper Cuts die as focal element Sue Wilson closed and open petalled daisies
Sue Wilson Pierced Flags and a couple of CE brads which happened to match the gingham and Topsy Turvey C&C cardstock
The embossing folder is SW's pinpoint checkerboard used at a 45 degree angle.
Thank you so much Karen for taking part each week.
XXX
Lilian

Lilian has opted for a 'Man Card' this week, a lovely handmade background paper using Cogs, with a die cut cog for embellishment along with a fabulous border of what looks like washers, all very 'mechanical', which creates the perfect backdrop to the fabulous Vintage Car that has been beautifully coloured too.
Thank you so much for taking part XXX

I think I've got everyone, shout if I missed you!

Enjoy your Sunday everyone
Love and hugs

Sunday morning is always a joy seeing all CCs. I love to see how different they all are and what materials are used. The display board this week looks beautiful.

We have a dry but very dull start to the day with a little bit of blue sky.

The CAFE is OPEN and it's Roast Beef on the menu today. Marigny Dobbie will be on duty in the morning and he has been given his instructions. I just hope that he abides by them.lol

  5. Morning Ladies

Great collection of challenge cards today. I was really struggling with this sketch mainly because I've had very little free time.

Sandra-thank you once again for all your hard work setting the challenges and for running such a wonderful blog.

Late comment from me-I did call in earlier but got distracted and didn't comment !

Well-we have sunshine but very strong winds again. I got another piece of glass cut for my greenhouse yesterday so il need to venture up to the end of the garden & fit that today. No other plans apartvfrom the usual housework do I might get chance to go to my craft room. I started on another card using a magazine freebie so once it's completed I'll send Sandra a photo.

    1. Hi Maria
Housework is a bit slack in my house as well. But mainly due to the fact we're hardly in it just lately. Hopefully it will all settle down soon. I'll have a good clean up before we go away. I did the bathroom this morning so that's as start.
Once again a lovely challenge card.

    2. Hi Maria.

Might try ur suggestion and try at the kitchen breakfast bar to cut what I need. For some reason I always end up on the floor when assembling the cards. Or leaving everything on the floor lol.
The diazepam is helping but they only gave me enough for 3 days. So I'm trying just to use when necessary as they don't like giving them out for long. As for talking. Yes thanks for that. I haven't really done that on sues blog after all the hoo ha about people's comments that's why I hopped on here and still found the same lovely people. I don't do face book or have anybody's phone numbers so I just blether on here lol xx

    3. Hi Tracy
You can blether away to your hearts content here. And we'll blether away as well when we need to. What a great word blether is.

You need to move more South so we can meet you one day :-) You speaking to our Lynda sometimes ? I believe you saw Terry.....Lol Diazepam yes, they don't want you to get hooked on them. I'm taking Tramadol every day and Gabapentin but it still not helping much. I wish and hope that you feeling better soon, sending you a gentle hug xx

Val, I'm sorry to hear that Kit isn't well at the moment. I hope his op is very soon. Your CC uses some of my favourite flowers 😊 Your Sweet pea topper is so pretty and the lace is a lovely idea. I hope you are taking it very easy and resting your bad back. Sending you gentle hugs x

Mum/Margaret, it's no wonder that you giggled when you saw Sandra's CC inspiration card 😊 it is a beautiful flower and I love the dark green background colour. I hope you get to relax a bit today. Little Chris is still asleep after his busy day yesterday 😊 love you xx

Karen, what a pretty card, I love how you have it the sentiments and name on the flags. THAT EF is a really useful one a that you turn to time and again isn't it x

Lilian, it's so good to see a man's card. I love the car topper and the cogs background x

Pat, It was such a relief to hear that your op went well. I hope your throat isn't as sore today and that you are able to relax a bit today. Sending gentle healing hugs x

I hope you all have the blue sky and sunshine that we have here today and you enjoy your day. We've got all of the grand children and Tim and Roz here for the day so it's going to be lovely, especially if we can sit out in the garden!

  8. Hi Sandra and ladies.
Wow ladies once again you've all surpassed yourselves. Such beautiful creations. That includes you as well Maria.
Throats still quite sore today. But it's improving. Livy for some reason was looking for the scar on my beck. She thought they'd got to my throats by going in from the outside. I explained that they did it by going through my mouth. She shuddered but I explained I was asleep. Better that cutting my throat I said. The mind boggles.
Some sunshine today. Yippee. Hope it keeps up. Hospital twice this week and Drs re his heart once, school of course on Monday.
Gentle hugs to all who need one today.

  9. Hi Sandra and ladies.

Oh I do love Sundays to see all your treats on offer. No crafting for me this week as believe it or not it really hurts when sitting or bending too long and I do like to craft on the floor lol x

Anyways I've been asked to do a few fathers day ones so I'll need to make an effort thru the pain. Unfortuneey I'm one less this year for my own dad.
It's his 1 year anniversary coming up soon on the 7th July. It still hurts terribly but I try so hard to move on a little.

    Love to all xx

  11. Hello Sandra and everyone,

Late today, went out in the garden for half an hour about 10.30. By 3pm and still outside, realised we hadn't had lunch Oops!!! Quick sandwich and back outside again, came in about 5pm. I think tomorrow I will regret staying outside for so long. At my age I should have more sense. Well just to prove my point, I have just woken, up having had a nap for the last half hour!!!

Love all of today's cards ladies. Sunday is really something special on this blog, I'm sure you will all agree. IF by any chance you are someone who just looks in, please post a comment. This is a calorie free Cafe, we are all blog friends and would love you to join in. No fee, no catch, just Crafters.

Better make a start on our dinner, my favourite 'pet' has prepared all the potatoes and veg, so no excuse, I will get a wiggle on and make dinner.

JANET thinking of you have a good journey, looking forward to hearing all about your journey. xx

Love and Hugs for everyone, Brenda xxx

  12. Hi Brenda
My word that was a long time to spend out in the garden. I spent all of 20mins pulling up weeds this morning. Had to stop of course as we pick up Doreen at 12.00 ish to take her to lunch. She wanted to pop up the CE entry afterwards which is by her house to see if they've flattened Ellis's grave, so she can get Pete to plant the rose she was given. They hadn't, so that's Pete's job when they do. Craig had been over to take up some more of the blocks that made up our drive. So Pete got him to help him take up our patio slabs. The people laying our new driveway, side path and patio will not now start until Wed/Thurs due to the wet weather we've had.

  13. Hello Everyone, sorry late again , I don't know where the time goes. It's wet here on and off all day.

Watched the tennis this afternoon, a bit of a one sided match, do love watching the tennis, no luck in the draw for tickets for Wimbledon again this year.

The cards are great again this week, my little car is glazed but it doesn't show in the photo, looking forward to seeing what we are doing this week. Once again Sandra thanks for all the inspiration.

Have finished all my work that I have here, first time for at least 10 yrs, so I have 5 days free. Good practice for retirement, hugs to all Lilian
