Beautiful Gift From Lynda xx

Good Friday Morning Ladies,
Today I would like to share with you this gorgeous card I received from Lynda on Wednesday.
Isn't it just so pretty?? The words inside Lynda's beautiful card, really lifted my spirits and made me
realise how thankful I am to everyone of you amazing ladies, such good friends xxx                                                  Lynda used Spellbinders Grand Decorative Squares to make the outer layers of the card, the frame for Lynda's beautiful stamped image is Creative Expressions Umbria Die from the Italian Collection, its great to see you going back and using some of your older dies Lynda, i think that we sometimes forget to go back to those dies that we once loved and used all the time.                                                                         The stamped image in the centre of the frame has been made by Lynda using the Justrite Wild Rose, Multi Layer stamp set. Everything on the card works so well together too.              The gorgeous embellishment has been made by cutting what feels like blue parchment with the Creative Expressions Cornflower Die, the flourish underneath is made from Creative Expressions Blossoming Branch die and a beautiful bow, tied in tulle.                                                                      Lynda, thank you so much, there is nothing better than receiving a 'just because' card.
I hope that you all enjoyed Sue's shows yesterday on C & C,
I will hold up my hands and confess to ordering the new Foundation Card pack, the new colours are gorgeous, we saw them when we went Newbury to the craft show, John Next Door had swatches of all the new colours on his desk, there is  new blue colour that is amazing.  Thank goodness that expanded the range! Giving us all a little more choice, we tend to see a lot of Periwinkle cards otherwise, I am sure they will all be a hugely popular, well they sold out really quickly!
I will call in later to see what you are all up too, 2 lovely fresh home made quiches in the chiller for lunchtime, so help yourself.
Love and hugs
Sandra

So glad the sun is shining for the young Duffy's embarking on their Camping Weekend. They have a big 4x4, and Oh! Man! they manage to pack it full .... THEN .... they add the Bike Carrier on the back as well!!! Oh! Yes! and they even manage to pack the boys & dogs in!!!
Everything set up for the day, looking good as always. Got my Tea & Toast and going over to my table in the corner.
Hope Jenny and Laura don't pass the door today. Anne is a regular now and it's great to join her and all the others for a cuppa and a chat.

    7. Hi Patricia, thank you for your kind words yesterday. It was good to hear your email and Sue was pleased. She really does have a great memory doesn't she, remembering Hazel. The first time my Mum met her Mum was amazed that while we were all catching up Sue was asking us (Sandra, Pat, Paul, my Mum and me) about lots of things about family etc. that proves she remembers so much, she is such lovely lady. I hope you have a good time today with Hazel and meeting Roberta for the first time. Such good news about the oldest dog, it is always a worry as they get older isn't it. Your lot will have a great time camping no doubt, as long as it stays dry. Take care xx

Lynda-such a beautiful card. I love the layers & the image you have used is so pretty. Have you coloured it yourself?

Thank goodness it's Friday!! It's been a long week that's for sure. I've got a hairdressers appointment for my colour tomorrow. After hubby finishes golf (lunchtime) "we" are sorting out the garage & putting new flooring down-some clip together stuff. I said I wasn't cooking after that do we're going to walk into the village and can go to the Indian restaurant or the Toby Carvery. Sunday hubby has another golf match so I can watch the two Sue Wilson programmes-yippee!!

Lynda, your card is so pretty and delicate. loving it immensely. I do like 'Just Because' cards to send out when you know someone is feeling a bit low. it certainly cheers them up to know others are thinking of them.
I'm having a quick cuppa and hot buttered crumpets before driving to Fiona's to pick up Joshua to be my co-pilot as it were.
Some oversea relations re already booked into the hotel, it will be lovely to meet again after 5 years since the last Reunion in Melbourne.
Rain has already for the rest of the day but it won't be dampening our spirits.

However you are planning your weekend, enjoy every minute and don't forget to make some time for yourselves.

The weather is is dull this morning so I wont be up to much today, I may just let my fingers do the walking and look for a new 'wheelie' and then a bit of cardmaking and a tidy-up in preparation for Nikki's visit tomorrow.
Oooh Sandra that quiche smells divine will pop in later for a slice.

Patricia have a wonderful day with Hazel and Roberta - don't eat too many cakes or you won't have any room for Sandra's expanding Quiche.
Cheryl - have a fabulous time making memories - it's nearly 10years since I had a reunion with all my family - maybe time for another will have to see.

Lynda your card today for Sandra is just beautiful and yes just like a vision in blue. Love all of it.

We had a short visit to Corbigny this morning as I'm still suffering from yesterday's jaunt. Pastries are quite normal today as we called at another bakery so we'll have to see what they're like.
It's definitely going to be a quiet afternoon here. I can hear the bedroom calling letting me know how cool it is in there.

Well it's pouring with rain here and quite chilly and yes the council men are out cutting the grass! Typical! I've got a card to make today for my uncles 90th birthday, we are having a family party in his sons garden ( oh yes big posh house!) so hopefully the sun will shine tomorrow. Must book a chiropractor appointment too, the ice and pain killers are helping but I'm sure it's a trapped nerve so will need a bit of manipulation. Not what I wanted to spend £40 on though! Emma's friend was 18 yesterday, the baby of the group so they are off out for most of the night clubbing for the first time.! They are not really a clubbing crowd but it had to be done- mind you I think Emma will be asleep in the corner by midnight! She's going to be fun tomorrow at uncles party and will be teased by her cousins once they find out what she's been up to, all part of the growing up process though! Right I must get on, I need to do ironing today too so a lot to get done. Muriel don't eat all the quiche and be kind to George!

I just love your card Lynda. I was lucky enough to see it in the flesh. The Blues work so well together. I'll try a piece of quiche later Sandra if there's any left. Love your stamping and colouring as well. Good luck with the new mobile phone Sue. I'm jelous Sandra that you're having the new colours as they were gorgeous. I'd like the pumice but haven't been able to find it where I'm not paying a fortune for postage.

  22. Hello all,
Well would you believe it, there's no quiche left!!!! Actually that's not strictly true. there's a crumb in the middle of the plate!!!
Saba, be nice to the glazier and don't frighten him away!!!
Jess, why am I not surprised that the insurer won't pay up? They are quick to take your money, but very slow to pay out.
That's my lot today folks, I've read all your comments but the girls are here shouting for their tea, and I doubt I'll get back in, so I'll say cheerio, I hope you've all had a good day and see you sometime tomorrow.

Just a brief pop in! We've arrived in Surry. Got here around 2pm. Passed a few places I recognised on the way! Signs for Milton Keynes and Oxford etc. made me think of some good friends on the blog!
    It's very wet here tonight.
Just had some champagne and canapés lovely!
Beautiful card from Lynda, who I know is a very kind , lovely lady. Lovely blue hues and blues flowers.
Will try to pop in later as I've no idea what you've been up to!

  24. Hello everyone
Right who has taken my piece of quiche, where is it? I was so looking forward to it, so come on own up who has eaten it, my money is on Muriel or Saba did she take it to give to her visitor she claimed was coming today?
Well got all the shopping thank goodness this morning so our freezer is now full again thank goodness.
The OT came brought what the NHS claim is a light weight chair but, it is over 2kg heavier than the one I have and that is after the cushion, wheels and footplates have all been removed! She has agreed it is of no use to me so I have been put on the waiting list to see the engineer, guess what there is at least a 10 week waiting list! The government say the NHS is getting better, I don't think so, but on the brighter side I am given a choice of colours blue, red grey or black, yippee do!
Now Maureen please do take care tonight if you are going to have a bedtime feast in bed with your girls and please no hot chocolate!
Jess have you thought of asking your roofer for a second opinion and if he says the damage is due to the weather ask him for a report and send a copy to your insurance company giving them 10 working days to reply and if you hear nothing or are not happy with their response, then send a copy of your roofers report and if possible some photographs along with copies of your letters to your insurance company to the Insurance Ombudsman asking for their opinion. Please don't be afraid they really are very good and most helpful, we had a problem with our insurance company last year and contacted them. the result was really good they were made to pay up in full and also made them pay us interest at a very good rate, from the date we made the claim to the insurance company. To be quite honest they could not have been more helpful, so do give them a try they are very fair.
Oh I am hungry and I was so looking forward to that lovely looking quiche, so I suppose I shall have to have some bread and jam instead.
I will be back later to see how our Scottish girls got on this morning, and see if Sheila has got a new super shopper sorted.

    1. MARGARET:- have you ever thought of setting yourself up as a "consultant" ??? You keep giving such wonderful information and advice. I will certainly contact you if I have problem that I can't get settled. Mind you I have been lucky this week. I complained about the funny taste with some TBags I bought. I got a nice letter and a bundle of Vouchers for their products. When I was on holiday in Tukey May/June I bought something, paid with my Visa card and was charged twice on my bill. I phoned the Credit Card Co. They took ages to do anything. I called again asking what they were doing about it. I got a call yesterday apologising and offering me £25 compensation. They said they have been extra busy and were sorry they had take so long to sort it out. That's 2, I just need and 3rd but can't think of anything can you.
Glad you have your freezer stocked again.
Sorry to hear about th chair though. Hopefully they will not take all that time to get to you.
Pity about your piece of Quiche, hope you enjoyed the Bread & Jam xxx

    2. Oh Margaret I can't believe a new chair is heavier than your old one! So much for improvements over the years! Now what colour are you going to choose! I hope you find where they have hidden the quiche xxx

  25. Good evening folks, had a great meet up with Hazel and Roberta this morning.
Roberta is lovely, felt as though I had known her for ever. Lots and lots of chat and laughter. A few words had to be translated on both sides. Its amazing how we use different words for the same thing. John always says "I thought they spoke English in USA ... not the same English as I use though"
Got home this afternoon, really did nothing, rather lazy, not like me but there you go. I have things I need to do, just can't be bothered.
Might just have a look at this PINTEREST thing. Yes!! MYRA:- I signed up, done a few pins but don't know yet how to "find" people. Will go see if I can suss that out.
Will try and pop back later, I have a funny feeling I might just "nod off" Do you ever get that, you just want to be "lazy" thats how I feel tonight
Going to look back see what you have been getting up to while I have been typing this. xxx

    2. I am non too sure how you find people on Pinterest but I sometimes find people by typing their name or their blog address at the top of the page to the left hand side. Sometimes if you find someone have a look and see who they follow and there maybe someone on the list you are looking for, hope this is of some help!
I love it when you get a positive response from these big companies who let us down. I do find if you are writing to them a good thing to do is to look on their web site to see if they have their mission statement on and if so quote it back to them if they have failed. This really works a treat, this is what I did for a good friend of ours who bought a new Ford car and had dreadful trouble with it for some reason it would just stop, on a round about, at a junction quite simply anywhere! The garage tried all manner of things but no good they even got a specialist Ford engineer up and he could not solve it. I took over for him and wrote to the CEO of Ford telling him what was happening and quoted their mission statement back to him, it took two letters but our friend got a brand NEW car to replace the faulty one! That was my best result so far and needless to say our friend was delighted. xx

  26. Patricia. Glad you all had a lovely time. I also cannot find out how to find people on Pinterest. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to put in a search. Perhaps some knowledgeable person on her will be able to help us. We will wait and see. Enjoy the rest of the day.

There doesn't seem to be anywhere to put in a search. Perhaps one of the clever ladies in the cafe will be able yo help us. Enjoy the rest of the evening even if it is doing nothing.

    1. Brenda,
On Pinterest at the bottom of the page are four little icons. If you click on the second one - it looks like a magnifying glass - a new page will appear with a search bar at the top. Search for the persons name on that. Or if you already know someone on Pinterest click on their Followers or Following - you will get a list. Click on the picture or name and you are off! I hope this helps. Xxx

  29. Hi everyone
What a wet cold miserable day we have had, still the garden needs the rain. Emma has gone round to her friends and they will go out at 11 - I'm going to bed then! We are convinced she won't last the night but they have to do these things don't they! I've spent the day making a pop up box card for my uncle following my friend Jackies instructions. Making the box was easy but thinking how to decorate it for a 90 year old man who has trouble seeing was a challenge! I will take a photo and send it to Sandra. I gad thought I could enter it for the one die challenge but in the end I used two dies ( one was an old star die I've had for years!) . Well I'm going to sign off now, I'm watching the Masterchef final and I need to paint my tie nails - they will either look glamorous in sandles or well lies tomorrow ! Lol. Janet they have been showing pictures of all the lorries lined up on the motorways in France and England today due to operation stack. Buy lots of wine cheese and bread and stay at home! I hope your family have a straight forward journey getting to you next week.
    See you all later xxxx

  30. Evening Ladies

What a strange evening-i offered to cook tea which is most odd but hubby had driven to North Lake District & back today. Called for petrol on the way home from work & got soaked as no coat & it was pouring! Got home, poured a glass of wine & started tea. Checked on a few emails then heard a strange noise= power failure!! Entire area according to Scottish Power, ah well never mind! Keep slurping the wine, sent my Dad a text to check he was OK (tes he was), went outside & spoke to neighbours. After 20 or so minutes the power came back on.

Afterbtea & doing the dishes, I have emailed Sandra a few photos that don't feature diecuts!! Shocking as I just love my dies.

Settled down with a cuppa (decaff) and a magazine.

I thought I'd pop in for a hot chocolate and see if any one was around, Roberta has gone of to bed, she still hasn't got her clock right, and wasn't helped by Harris who decided to ask her to let him out at the crack of dawn this morning! She went for a little power nap this afternoon but sleep caught up again. We had a good morning with Patricia, tomorrow she will meet Tammy and Andrew they are coming over while Derek and Calum are at the football,
Haven't had time to catch up on all that was going on, will try and do that before it go to bed. Enjoyed my hot chocolate, money in the pot. Xxx

    3. Glad you had a good morning with Patricia. I expect it will take Roberta a while to get adjusted to get time change by then it will be time for her to go back home. Been wet all day here and has turned quite cold. Just had to go and find a thick cardigan. Really I suppose it would be better if I went yo bed then I could suggle down under the duvet with Margarets heat bag. Have a good day tomorrow.

Called the surgery this morning and something and behold I got to see one at lunch time. She gave me new meds so now we will see if they do anything . If you hear some rattling it's probably me walking past.
