Good Morning Craft Friends,
Thanks for stopping by today.
Todays card is one I made for Luke, for his 21st Birthday, I always find the male cards more of a challenge, as you can't use flowers and bows to fill the blank spaces! So for this card I Used Kraft card and a dark blue card, I embossed the blue card with Sue Wilson's Lattice Folder, matted it onto a piece of white card added a die cut edge to the bottom for interest, using Spellbinders Edgabilities Die, matted it all together, added a piece of contrasting blue ribbon in both directions, cut a matt of Kraft card, which I embossed by putting a star die
on the card and running it through the Grand
Calibur with the Embossing Sandwich, just to
give a little detail, I cut my sentiment out with an
Spellbinders Oval and matted with Scalloped oval.
I used three star brads to give detail at the edge of the focal element and then Matt and Layered some Star and die cuts adding "21" peel off to one and stars to the others. I tied a piece of twine through a small key charm and added to the top corner.
The insert was printed on to white paper, Matted onto another piece of embossed blue card with some added stars to the corners to continue the theme.
Luke loved the card, I hope you do too.
Thanks again for stopping by,
hugs,
Sandra xxx
Hi Sandra. A great male card, I'm sure Luke loved it. I love the way you have layered the stars and also how you used the die to emboss the matt behind the sentiment, they are great touches that add to a lovely card. (Looking forward to hearing back from you to arrange a get together this week hopefully? ) Take care x
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra
ReplyDeleteI've just looked back on your blog and you have made some fantastic cards. I bet Luke just loved his card, and I really love the baby shower card and the jewellery you made for your Mother in Law. What a lucky lady she was.

ReplyDeleteSandra, what a fantastic male card. Oh yes they do take a lot more thought, but you have come up trumps with your design.
ReplyDeleteYes it's hard being a mum at times, but you are thinking the right way over Rebecca - she needs to have had her moment. Mine are 43, 41 and 37 I tried to be a friend as well as a mum when they were teenagers. And I have got say they have all turned out to be wel respected adults that do good for others not so fortunate as themselves . And in my eyes that's what counts. Hazel xx.
P.S. I have a lot of lovely other young ones that I treated the same whom I nannied for.
Hi Sandra
ReplyDeleteWhat a super card for the dreaded male, female cards are no problem but a male one oh I shudder to my boots! Your layout and layering are great and your colour combination are just super.
Well done clever girl
With love
