Mixed Up Saturday

Good Saturday Morning Ladies,

From a very very wet and windy Gloucestershire,  my goodness did we have rain yesterday,  it just didn't stop, the wind picked up throughout the day too, poor Lucy looked like a drowned rat when she got in from work,  rainy, windy days make for a very long day at the wildlife park!  Her day was measured by how many Sudoku she managed to complete! 🤣

I was sat playing with different Poinsettia dies to try and decide which ones I liked the best,  the jury is still out.  🤔   I was distracted by Christmas shopping and Soph had my sewing velcro into a gift that she has personalised for someone 😉, the trouble was she bought adhesive backed velcro, so my needle really struggled to get through that tough adhesive backing that coated the needle with its stickiness with every pass!  By the time I was done I had no feeling in my thumb and forefinger!

Whilst making some room in my photo album I cane across these photos that we took when we popped into Witney around Remembrance weekend,   this spectacular Mail Box topper was knitted & crocheted by local ladies,  what blew me away was the level of detail, look at those boots and the neatness of the helmet,  the poppies are beautiful and even featured Purple poppies for the Animals lost in combat too.

Maria

How beautiful is Maria's latest Crystal Art, the colours are so incredible,  it must have been so hard with the colours all being so similar. There is something really special about this one Maria, I'm not sure if its the incredible imagery or the way the light hits the piece.  I absolutely love it my lovely.

Thank you so much for sharing such an amazing piece ❤️

We may well get the Christmas bits out of the loft this weekend,  (I heard Paul telling the girls yesterday)  It's very early for us but the girls seem to be excited though.  We don't have much else planned,  other than food shop at some point as there was no way I was going out in that wind and rain yesterday.

I hope that you have a good one, however you are spending it,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra xxx

  1. That saying is so true My problem is now it should be turned back into a bedroom for one of the grandkids to stay in!
They are staying tonight! As daughter and son in law are celebrating his parents 45th (sapphire!) wedding anniversary
    My meagre decorations are up!

  2. Hi everyone
Oh I love the quote. Yes that was definitely me and now my dream is a reality 🤣 (Sorry Luke 🤭❤️)
I’m with you on poinsettia dies and snowflakes too. I have a few and always struggle to decide which I like best. I always end up cutting different ones before I’m happy!
The postbox toppers are amazing. There’s always one in Sandhurst. They must take ages but are lovely to see 😊
Maria, your crystal art is fabulous. I love the colours too 😊
Have a good day everyone, stay warm and dry 🥰
Sending hugs to you all xx

  3. Hello, wet and soggy again.
That saying is very true, although because I worked from home always had a room to use.
I always use my spellbinders old ones but I think I have some different smaller ones somewhere.
Maria your picture is fantastic, you must have massive amount of patience, and really dexterous fingers.
Karen I hope you have an enjoyable weekend with the grandchildren.
Have really bad toothache today, had to have a huge filliyesterday. She said it might not last, hope it does , because it cost £165.00. If she has to take it out that will be another big bill.
Sandra hope you are feeling a little better by now.
    Hugs to all Lilian

  4. Hi Sandra and everyone. A lovely look back at some older Christmas cards, still beautiful yesterday. A great saying but we have it as Chris’s room so that’s ours done 🤭
Sandra, I hope you are continuing to feel like you are maybe getting better 🤞🏻🤞🏻 it is so lovely that the girls and you can get time together during the week xx
Yesterday was a write off but today we went to Christchurch cathedral in Oxford for a Carol concert with the junior choristers. We were sat directly behind them and the head chorister, no older than 14 had the voice of an angel. He had a fantastic range and power, it was amazing. We then went a lovely Thai restaurant for dinner so all in all a great day. I would definitely not go to Oxford in the dark while using Zoom ever again. I always feel vulnerable walking through the city but being waist height to everyone and not being able to move quickly if needed was even worse. There never seem to be any police or security people around even on the most busy streets. I was so grateful to get back to the car! Have a good night everyone. Take care and love from Sue xx

  6. Hi everyone
It took me years to get my craft room so if someone like my stepson who is coming home he have to sleep in the living room and son can never move back home, sorry boys 😂
Wonderful letterbox Sandra. A lot of work has gone into to knit it all.
Thank you for showing my crystal work and I'm glad that you all like it. The colours is what made me buy it, it's make me feel good. I don't have very nimble fingers Lilian, they are in a mess and pain with arthritis these days but this hobby has got me just like card making when mojo is around 🤭🙂 Very sorry to hear that you are in so much pain after seeing the dentist, I hope it goes after a day or so. You take care.
Karen, have fun looking after the grandsons.
Brenda, hope you and John have had a good day.
Sue, hope you are feeling better. Take it easy.
Sending hugs to you all xxx
