My Mojo returned on Friday afternoon!

Good Monday Morning Ladies,

We had another productive day in the garden, the dead wood has all been removed,  sadly it looks awful as the fir trees have died underneath it,  we can very carefully wound the two Clematis back in, fingers crossed they soon recover and cover the bare areas.  We also got some Leeks, Cauliflower,  kale, Spring Cabbage and Brussels Sprouts  (red and green) planted, some have had to go between sweetcorn plants but they finish in September so their should be room, we will them cut the sweetcorn down and leave the stems as supports.  Needless to say I was 'done' by 6pm!                             Luckily it was easy dinner so Paul could manage most of it, Salmon Wellington,  is a crowd favourite in our house, its salmon in a prawn & white wine sauce encased in puff pastry,  the girls had one between themselves while we were away (it serves 4 good portions) they had it with tenderstem Broccoli and french beans (no potatoes needed as the portion of salmon was too big) 😋 🤣😅
We will be having new potatoes with Salmon Wellington tenderstem Broccoli,  french beans & courgettes sautéed in garlic and herbs.   We had a lot of courgettes to use up, the girls aren't fond of the just steamed.  Lucy and I love courgettes made into courgetti (spiralled) its great woth bolognese.
We get our Wellington from Aldi or Lidl, they are both delicious, Sainsburys have them a lot more expensive and not as tasty.

Karen I hope you enjoyed your Bowls match,  the winning is a bonus, the best part is all of the friends you have made and the extra socialising that brings xxx

Maria I hope your sister has some positive news, I feel for you my lovely, you feel so helpless when you are so far away.  Sending you big hugs  🤗 xx

Lilian, I'm sorry to read that your Dahlias have been disappointing,  I believe you got yours from Farmer Gracy in Netherlands same as I did,  I have only had three that have flowered so far, I have mine in large terracotta pots,  it's not ideal for them, we need to make a large flower bed to put them in, although I like to put them in the greenhouse over winter to protect them.  Are yours in pots??  XXX

Sue, I hope you didn't get caught in the "i feel ok so I will get loads done trap"!!  I have been bought to my knees by that mistake more times than I dare to admit.  I hope you had a good weekend XXX

I was so happy that my crafty enthusiasm returned on Friday afternoon,  typical that it chose the afternoon we go food shopping,  so I was crafting up to the point that Paul was getting in the car! 🤣😅🤣
I picked up my 49 & Market Birdsong paper pad and had a flick through, I have had 2 collections for a couple of months but haven't gotten around to using them,  this was when I was looking for the something to use for the New/Unused challenge.   I picked out three different papers and then made three different card bases to adhere them to.  I didn't want to cut this paper as it was so nice, it looks more black in photograph but its a very dark blue, almost watercolour effect.  I loved the sweet flowers but it was those tiny little birds that caught my eye.   I used a sentiment that I bought from Amazon a while ago and have never used it. I did see a similar card on Pinterest but theirs was a rectangle card.  I added three yellow sparkles to pick up the yellow in the flowers.

I hope that you all have a great start to the week,

Love & hugs to all

Sandra xxx

  2. Hi everyone
Sorry I’ve not been in for a while!
Love all of the cards displayed recently, and today’s is beautiful with that gorgeous patterned paper 😊
I haven’t done any crafting for a while 🙁 My craft room’s still not finished, as with all these things that you think will be easy it never is! Oh well, it’ll get done eventually.
I’ve not had chance to catch up with everyone’s news but I’m sorry for whatever your sister is going through Maria, and I hope you’re ok xx
Hope you managed to get an appointment Karen xx

  3. Hi everyone
Beautiful card, love the paper. I've zoomed in and could see the blue background. 😊
Your dinner sounded so nice so I can't wait for my dinner tonight as I'm hungry now 🤭
Karen , it sounds fun to play bowls and it doesn't matter if you win or lose in the end as long you have a laugh with friends 😉
Sonia, good to see you in. Love to see your craft room when it's finished and you can make your beautiful cards again.
We went out for breakfast today and did some shopping at Waitrose, was meant to have a walk but the heaven opened up with this horrible, drizzly rain that makes you soaked so we did the up and down aisle instead 🤗
Thanks for understanding. Yes, it's not easy when you are in another country and keep thinking if I should go over or,.... My sister said that she was fine and she has now organised so they have service for getting to their surgery and hospital and in to the village if they need to go shopping which is good.
I hope that you all have a nice day and a good start of a new week . Many hugs to you all. xxx

Sorry I haven’t been in for a few days. We went to our daughters in Caterham for an house warming and slept over, it was a lovely weekend, we sat in the garden most of the time, you can see for miles over the downs.
Maria sorry to hear your sister is really poorly, it’s horrible when you cant just pop over to check on her, at least we have the technology for you to keep in touch with her. XX
Take care everyone, love Brenda xxx

  4. Hi Sandra and everyone. I love today’s card, the paper is gorgeous with those beautiful birds on the pretty flowers against that almost dreamy smoky water colour type sky. As you say you don’t want to cut it at all do you. I’m glad you managed to cut out the dead clematis, that was a job and a half for both of you, especially as Paul had to use a ladder for a lot of it as that hedge is very high isn’t it. You can both sit back and enjoy watching the new clematis plants fill the gap, they grow fast don’t they do it won’t take too long xx
Maria, I’m so sorry that your Mum and Dad are both suffering so much. Thank goodness it sounds like they have got help around them from your sister and others near by. I’m sending you the gentlest hugs dear friend xx
You were right Sandra, of course I did too much on Saturday. We are our own worst enemies aren’t we! 😏 I’ve been shopping today to get the bits I need to make a birthday cake for my aunties 80th birthday on Friday. She wants one of “Mums” boiled fruitcakes so nice and easy. I couldn’t find anywhere that sells icing flowers so I’m going to use some fresh flowers in a little pretty cut glass vase/bowl that I found in a charity shop. She loved gardening and all flowers and she will have the vase to use afterwards too. It will keep me out of trouble for the next few days anyway. Sleep well everyone. Take care. Love Sue xx
