Man Card Monday

Good Monday Morning Ladies,
Well I guess I can officially say to some of you that 'I will see you next week'!!!!!

Today's 'Man' Cards have been designed and composed by our Anne, the images are all by La Pashe,
they are totally hilarious, the more you look at them the more you see, different little 'quirky' things that just make you smile.
These are fantastic to use if you don't have dies, as you can build up the layers as much as you like, making the card look very dramatic, I am not sure how many layers you would need to achieve that 'builders bum' look that you can see on the mechanic picture.
The extra details that you get with these images make so much difference, the funnel for instance on the plumber card, the wire cutters on the tool bag card etc, aren't they just so fantastic and so much thought has gone into the all of the images, making it a lot easier to achieve that professional finish!!!
Thank you so much for sharing the card Anne, and for all of the others that you sent too. xxxx

Well Paul's parents are leaving at 10 am tomorrow, so I will be up and about early or i might let Paul set breakfast for all of them and i will limp out when I am ready, after they leave I will probably go for a nap!! hahaha
I hope that this is the start of a week brings you happiness,
love and hugs

  1. Good morning Sandra and the Café Crew, hope you are all TickeyBoo and ready for the week ahead. Wow! only another week till we all meet up, all very exciting.
Sandra hope the morning goes well and you get your guests fed and in their way.
ANNE:- your cards are brilliant, love every one. I don't do decoupage, I was tempted by these though, bought them and never used them. Quess what?? I really wish I had. I sent them to the school for the children to use, silly woman I am.
ANNE:- could you PLEASE send your contact details to Sandra so we can contact you to make arrangements for our "meet up" on Thursday.
Off to see what shenanigans you lot got up to last night.
We were out all day with the boys, had a fantastic day. Back to their house for Tea which John Jnr cooked (Audrey working). Boys help their dad so much, they set the table (just the kitchen one) also help with the preparation. Well Thomas helped with the preparation Robert entertained us. Boys back to school today after their Tattie Holidays.
Right folks, must get a move on. Monday is Big Clean at the Ranch. Got a load of washing in at the moment. Next load will be the bedding once I "tip" John out of the bed.
Maureen I hope you are feeling better today. Zoe is a little darling but she really did not need to share her germs ... did she!!
(((((hugs))))) in the baskets as usual, please help yourself. See you all later xxx

  2. Morning Ladies

Anne-your card are brilliant. I think we all know someone they would be perfect for.

Busy day yesterday, never made it back into the craft room. I collapsed on the sofa & started to read a new book (we have a book loan box at work which is great for me as I get through books very quickly) then I remembered the the new series of Law & Order SVU was starting at 10pm. I started watching this series years ago in Florida & loved it, I know it's not perfect acting but that's part of the attraction. Apart from Strictly on Saturdays I don't watch any other TV and wouldn't be too bothered if I missed them. Just don't take my books off me...!!

Well, another busy week at work. Only 2 new patients this weekend- 5 last week was so much extra work. I should find out when hubby's new desk will be delivered-probably tomorrow so I can craft this evening.

  3. Morning to all who may pop in today
Morning Patricia it's nice to see you first thing and everything set and ready.

ANNE - Thank you so so much for your fantastic cards this Monday morning. They are quite something aren't they. I must also thank you for reminding me that I too bought some of these used them took photos of them and then completely forgot I'd done so. Nothing unusual about that these days but it was a long time ago. Must look for the pics to see which ones I did.

SANDRA - I'll be thinking of you sometime around 11.00 hoping that you are having a well deserved snooze. I should make it a well deserved SLEEP if I were you.

Dry here and it looks as though we have had a ground frost. I've only looked out of the window but of course my fearless one has gone on his journey for breakfast and so I'll get a good report upon his return lol. The birds are having a good feast. All the feeders etc were put out on Saturday and it certainly didn't get them long to find them. So all in all all's well over here.
I'll be looking in later to see what everyone is doing.
    Hugs have been despatched. xxxx

  4. Good Morning Sandra and Ladies, well managed to get o/h off on early train to London.
Sandra I think the funnel is a plunger, remember Dad always had one.
Anne your cards are great ,love decoupage, the scenes are really funny.
Well cleaner today so time to tidy away all bits and pieces.all bedding washed and dried, did it yesterday as weather was dry and breezy.
Going to have a look what I can spend my C&C vouchers on, might order some of Sheena's Aqua tints, they are on 40%discount

  5. Good morning Sandra and ladies. Sorry I wasn't in yesterday but I had an early start. Was up first of all at 3am couldn't sleep so peeled all the potatoes required for the day. I.e. Ones for the shepherds pie I had made the base for on Saturday that was going to Perth, and the ones for dinner for 8, so yes loads. Was back up at 6 something , yes potatoes for pie on, they were cooked mashed and put on, veg for dinner dealt with plus a few other bits, then I was off to Perth saw to the pussy cats, left pie in the fridge for Tammy and them coming home. Next was asda shopping and home. Then it's was all go again. I am so glad we are away this weekend as I have had my fill of cooking in the last 5 weeks I have had either Shaun and Hannah here or them plus others, then Saturday went from 4-6 for tea. Then 8 yesterday well that was me. Shattered.
Don't know about Sandra going for a sleep I just wish I had slept last night, I think I finally went to sleep at 4.30. Just over tired I think, then again I did get some sorting out of my papers and stuff from boxes while I was restless
Anne, your card are fantastic, love them.
Jean, your card yesterday was gorgeous love that design.
Maureen, I do so hope you had a good nights sleep and that you are feeling a bit better, now you stay in bed. I know you hate doing that but as I will say again we need you better.
Sheila, I see from reading back that you are off for a few wonderful days with Margaret and George, enjoy every minute.
I am away to have my cup of tea and sit for 5 minutes then I am back on my mission to get rid of the things I don't use or need anymore. I will be sat on the sofa doing this - place will be a guddle but who cares. My back will hopefully be ok as I am sat. I have been told I can have space in the shed for 5 sets of the plastic storage drawers too, as long as I get rid of stuff. So these will be filled with all my baby basket things that are plastic plus the boxes of buttons and bead, and anything that will be ok out there.
Yes we are on count down for or fabulous wekend, I have the trip to Birmingham this weekend to do first. Could be doing not to be going to this but it's Charlies time to catch up with old friends. A few less than 2 years ago sadly. These things happen and you. Notice it more as we get older. Xxx

    2. Oh he tried to take more than his fair share of the space but I nipped that I the bud. I haven't stopped sorting out since I started and I am still in a guddle, but I have been told to stop. 3 storage drawer sets out in the shed and I have worked out I can stack another small 3 drawer one on to one. I need to fine homes for some of these baby plates and bowls etc. but at the moment they can stay out there. You may go for a nap I think I won't take much rocking to sleep. Xxx

Sandra I hope you have a nice rest after your visitors leave, I hope you have had some enjoyable moments over the weekend. Are you getting a wee bit excited as the time draws nearer.
Anne I just love these cards, have used the great pit and football ground ones a while ago. Are these from a cd or ready printed. Whichever you have done them proud, brilliant.
Patricia, so glad you enjoyed your day yesterday sound smashing. I too need to tip my John out of his pit shortly. Hehe
Maureen, I hope you are feeling better and it's not gotten a hold on you,
Don't have any plans as yet for today but no doubt that will change, will pop back later,

  10. Jean, Yes I will get waited on, but unfortunately it's only saturdsy night and Sunday morning this year. We normally go Friday to Sunday. As I am back down the next weekend we cut it short. I can't see me finding many goodies as 90% is to do with scrapbooking and way before I had my dies etc. embellishments by the bucketful, that now could be replaced with die cuts.
I have loads of 12x12 beautiful papers that I think I will make envelopes from for my cards. As I can't see me ever getting through them. But I might just find things I have lost. Since I moved things for Canadian visitor coming over for the wedding a few things are lost. X

  13. Morning Sandra & ladies,

Anne, your cards are so hilarious, they made me chuckle especially the 'builder's bum' one.
I do so hate the way young men? wear their bums on show with their trousers half way down and all manner of underwear to boot. Do they really not know what this signifies?

Had a lovely trip out with Jamie, fantastic lunch for a garden centre, Jamie bought some beautiful fish but we didn't get the tree, they only had the shrub variety and wanted £149.00 for that! Not in my price range so we are going to Monkton Elms GC on our next trip where I have seen it as a tree.
I am so lucky having Jamie as my grandson, he is lovely caring young man and would make a wonderful husband/father to someone one day.

Woke up this morning though with a horrendous headache, snuffly nose, coughing and sneezing. Whoever passed me this bug, please take it back.
Not very good for my visit to the historic Oxford tomorrow with Freda on the REA trip. Will have to dose myself up today to get rid of it.

Glad to hear your weekend with the in-laws went ok, Sandra, and I do hope that everyone pitched in to help. From the age of 10, my sister and I were doing all sorts of cooking, child-minding our younger brothers, cleaning and ironing for mum. My parents believed in bringing us up to be independent for ourselves and I have say it worked. All five siblings are very practical.
Enjoy your lie-in this morning, yo deserve it.

The only thing I will be useful today for is to sit quietly and sort my stamps out. Having catalogued them the other day, they are still on the floor in piles, according to designer, waiting for me to sort out the odd ones that I no longer need and which I didn't include in my list, I hasten to add. And some more cutting out which will be therapeutic as I am emptying my scrap box to cut out Christmas trees, deer, holly and ivy for the nursery my friend Jan works in. I do this every year for them for their 'gluing days' which they quite enjoy.

(((((hugs)))) to everyone else who is under the weather too.
    Love 7 hugs

    1. Cheryl, please take it easy and stay warm, your another one we can't have ill. Your grandson sounds lovely, and very thoughtful how many young ones these days take time out to spend the day with their grandparents? Gosh that bush was expensive!!! Like you we were brought up to be independent too, just as well as our mum was in hospital for nearly a year when I was 12 and we had a little sister of a year old that we had to look after plus do everything in the house as dad was useless ( mum did everything for him) plus he did work full time. Never did us any harm and mine were brought up to help. That's why I was so proud of Shaun and Hannah ( nephew and niece) for looking after themselves at home while the rest went to Malaysia. They knew a month out if school for them was to much with big exams coming up, now remember lots of hot drinks. Xxx

    4. Yes Myra, he tells me that too!, says I don't act my age but one day I'd better remember it. Why? I'm having too much fun making wonderful, funny memories for my grandchildren that they will remember more than the sad times. And anyone who goes on a zip wire to celebrate their 63rd birthday can't be all that bad. xxx

  16. Good morning lovely ladies,
Anne your cards are brilliant and so beautifully coloured. I love these images, all the tiny little details, perfect for adding dimension and your matting and layering is so perfect. Thank you for sending them to Sandra.
I had a lovely time yesterday with Peters ex boss and his wife. We had lunch in a brewery and then went into an area of the city which is well known for its artists and craft designers. It was an open door day so you were allowed to go into all the ateliers and see them at work. Mostly paintings but also some sculptors, jewellery designers and one lady who made the most amazing felt handbags - I didn't buy one!. Then we decided to go for coffee and cake and spent another couple of hours just chatting.
Today I am having my hair cut so need to crack on and get that irritating thing called housework out of the way first.
Maureen, glad you are feeling a bit better but stay indoors today and get well, hope your aches and pains are easing. It'll have been George kicking you, he probably thought you wouldn't notice.

I look like a drowned rat. Oh well, at least I had two hours of total relaxation. They have these fabulous massage recliners, a coffee machine that makes every kind of coffee you can imagine and I could have stayed there all day.
As to yesterday's handbag, don't forget Peter was with me and if he knew how much I spent on a handbag he would dock my housekeeping money. Not that I get it, we have a joint account but you get my drift. And they were a bit pricey.

  29. It's very quiet in here tonight. I am off to have a shower and get my pjs on, been a long busy day. I will be the same tomorrow , I am sure the stuff in my spare room has been breeding since I put the boxes back in after Roberta went home. So I will be still sorting out again tomorrow. So that's me for the night. See you in the morning. Xxx

  30. Well you all seem to have had very busy days, hope those of you who are unwell will soon be on the mend.
Sandra hope you managed to get some rest today after your visitors left.
Was hoping to order some of Sheena's inks with my c/c voucher, but hadn't realised it was a one day wonder, so too late now.
Managed to order some hot pressed water colour paper from Amazon, so will be able to some stamping tomorrow hopefully.
    Have a good night everyone.
    Best Wishes Lilian in Cornwall

  31. It is quiet in here tonight. We've been waiting to face time Emma but think she's probably decided to call us Wednesday instead , either that or she's out on the town again with her friend. I will text her in a moment because I want to know if her present has arrived. Right off to do the washing up and send a text, see you later xxx

  32. Hi Sandra
I hope you had a lovely weekend with Paul's parents. Are they going home today or did they go yesterday?.
Anne I love these cards. I have quite a few of these images. I sent my son the one of the teacher, he did think it was quite funny.

  33. In case anyone is interested - I'd hate to bore you! Ha ha! Today's children's after school club went very well. Lucy rushed up to me and throwing her arms around my waist said she was sorry for her behaviour two weeks ago! I hugged her - I do know we aren't meant to - and told her the slate was clean and we would start afresh. Today's behaviour was so much better. Another Helper told me Lucy was really scared when I didn't turn up last week that I wasn't coming back. Sometimes a little scare is good! It wasn't intended - I'd had a migraine - but she didn't know that. I hate confrontation so hope we have solved a problem.
    Had a busy day.
    Night Night All,
    Love Myra xxx

    1. Hi Myra
I know what you mean regarding hugging children. Just what are you supposed to do when they are so pleased to see you, and rush to hug you. You can't push them away so you just have to hug them all back.
