Good Morning Ladies,
This first week of January is flying by, Paul is back in the office today, I really miss him after having home for 10 days. The girls are home though so won't be as bad.
I think we are having a 'making' day today, I got Lucy a Kokedama Kit, you make a ball of moss around the roots of plants instead of pots, you then wrap it in twine.....
They are lovely to look at, she made one with Paul on Boxing day, it's not as easy as you might think and is definitely a two person job.
We popped out to the Garden centre yesterday so she could pick out a plant to make into a Kokedama.
They are both in the middle of building lego kits too. I hope to finish a bigger journal page that I started yesterday.
Today I am sharing a Silent Sea journal page that I made last week, it started with a rice paper background halved diagonally I then covered the rest with Ivory acrylic paint, slightly blending over the rice paper. After that was dry I stencilled over the background with texture paste, after it dried I blended over the page with Stamperia coffee ink (which is like vintage photo).
Next came the fun bit, adding the ephemera, most of these ones are die cut stickers (not something I thought Id use but they look ok) I added gauze as to me it looks a bit like the foamy top of waves. The wax seal just added another fun texture, the wax is white I added gold gilding wax to highlight the details.
I think I might do a 6 x 6 page as I have a collection of tiny shells that we have collected over the years from Spain.
I hope that storm 'Goretti' doesn't bring you any problems, I think you may be in for some troubling weather as it starts Lilian, so please stay safe.
Sending my love & hugs to all of you,
Sandra xxx

Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful journal page 😍 What a lovely idea to make one with the shells you have collected from Spain 😊
The plant kit you got Lucy sounds lovely, I have never seen or heard of that before.
It’s pretty calm here at the moment, although fine drizzle in the air. Already taken Barney out so won’t be venturing out again until later to get our shopping.
Have a good day everyone
Sending hugs to you all xx
Beautiful page I had never heard of Kokedama - interesting I’m going to Google it later to see more examples Have fun!
ReplyDeleteIt is very calm here at the moment I will do my NHS10 and that’ll be it I will stay put and craft/crochet
Take care everyone xx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteBeautiful journal page,so serene.
Never seen this type of planting before, interesting. Hope you feeling better Sandra but are you alright with taking this much antibiotics ? Take care.
We went to Frost, the garden centre this morning. It was busy but still nice to come out and we missed the rain. We might go to another one which is more or less just on the other side of the road. They are closing down, it's understandable but a shame for they have the Works and Woollen mill there but I think they will build houses or something in its place instead. They are building houses and flats everywhere around us, it's getting a bit much.
Warm hugs to you all, look after each other. Xxx
Hello All, well we are battened down, hoping we don’t have too much damage. It’s very windy and very wet. We still have power at the moment, hoping it stays that way.
ReplyDeleteI love your journal page. After seeing your silent sea papers I had to have to have them, luckily I found them on Amazon, should be here on Sunday. Must get making now I’ve got all these papers.
Keep safe everyone, Lilian
