Good Morning Ladies,
I hope that you all got a glimpse of the 'Super' 'Beaver Moon' last night, the only benefit I find with a super moon is that I don't need the torch on my phone on to go the loo in the night!! 🤣😂 If you missed it you get one more chance in December, that is called 'Cold Moon' !
I had a disastrous crafting day yesterday 😔 , I sat down and started the journal page above (version 1) ! I did the background stamping, then added the texture paste and set it to dry on the Aga, after an hour I got my Distress Oxide Sprays ready to go, picked up the Speckled Egg and added it, giving it a quick dry, then picked up 'Shabby Shutters ' or so I thought.....it was in fact Forest Moss, a very dark brownish green, it looked awful, I was going to remove the page, I decided not to and I am determined to make it work with something!
So I started all over again, when I checked I found that I had 2 bottles of Peeled Paint Oxide Spray and no Shabby Shutters, so I used Oxide inks for the background, they are easier to work with in my opinion as you have more control, I allowed them to dry and then took the lid off of my Vintage Photo Oxide spray to add some splatters, which I then spritzed with water and held up to allow it to run around the page, I dried it with my heat tool, then added a little more if the Shabby Shutters ink to the right hand side, then edged the left hand side with Vintage Photo Distress ink as a contrast.
Now comes the fun bit, I still haven't mastered the art of deciding on how many elements to add to a page to make it look balanced, so I watched a few video clips, I picked out some tickets and Butterfly from my new Arden Creative die cuts pack, I bought some rub ons too and an amazing stamp set for adding touches of ink! I picked out the elements I needed, edged them with Vintage Photo, and arranged them 'a la Vicky' 🤣 I finished with a few splatters.
I then picked up my scissors to trim the excess tickets that added to the bottom right, as they were overhanging the page, I noticed that they had brown, wet ink on them......so I looked to the side of my desk to see the Vintage photo oxide spray on its side, I hadn't even noticed that it had tipped over, I hadn't tightened the top either, so 3/4 of the bottle had leaked out, it was right under my glass mat and had spread the full width of my desk, under a white mesh storage unit that I have colour pencils, erasers, fine tip pens and bits and pieces in, it was one of those 'where do I start' situations, I mopped up what I could see with kitchen roll, then lifted my glass mat to find a lake of brown under there too, what a mess! I now have brown stained hands, like those of a chain smoker 🤣😂
Lesson learnt, always fully tighten your lids!!
Let's hope today is less messy!
Have a lovely day however you are spending it,
Love and hugs to all,
Sandra xxx
