Good Morning Ladies,
I started to tidy the set of drawers that has my Ink blending tools and Alcohol inks in on Saturday afternoon, I gave up with the blending brush cleaning after doing about 5 and discovering the amount of ink they hold. I did try to blend some of that ink out but it just doesn't budge, its too far up on the bristles, plus you can't scrub hard when you are blending otherwise it would look terrible, I do have the old style blending tools and foam but the brushes to give a softer blend.
After giving up with the brushes I sorted through my Alcohol inks, that got me wanting to play with them, I watched a couple of tutorials and discovered that I don't use nearly enough Isopropyl Alcohol or Blending solution, I had also never thought about using only one colour, it has several colours that make up that shade so I just went for it, added more Isopropyl than ink and went to it with my 'puffy' tool, it was much easier to blend. It's always hard to know when to stop though. After allowing the ink to dry I took a stencil and blending tool with domed foam which I inked up with 'Alcohol Lift Ink' and inked through the stencil, it doesn't look like much has happened at first but you buff over with a piece of kitchen roll the pattern is revealed, you can line the stencil up and re - ink through it, I did it twice ......

Absolutely stunning I love the effect you have created and doesn’t need a lot to showcase it
ReplyDeleteGot a Halloween dance night tonight so need to sort out costumes As it’s at The Dogs Head I am going as Cruella de Ville Also need to sort my internet connection to Ring doorbell too
Take care everyone xx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteA fabulous card. I love the stamping of the flower, it's so pretty.
Karen, I saw your older Halloween costumes and you both look wonderful. Remember to take a photo to share with us will you 😊
Feeling a bit lost today, don't know what to call it. Going to speak to my parents later this afternoon. Doing a bit of crystal art but have no mojo for much. Hope you my friends have a good day. Many hugs to you all. xxx
Such a lovely card today I just love the way you kept a one colour and it’s worked out perfectly.
ReplyDeleteKaren, enjoy your Halloween dance this evening. I’m sure you will look fabulous as Cruella de Ville, I hope you share some pictures with us. XX
Had a busy day today, did two machine loads of washing and John managed to peg them outside on the washing line, they are all nice and dry and everything is now ironed and put away. Doesn’t it feel good when you can get the laundry sorted and put away on the same day.
Sandra I hope you’re feeling better today and the flu symptoms have all gone. Have you had your winter flu injection yet? We had ours about two weeks ago so hopefully that will be us protected for the winter.
Enjoy your evening everyone, take care love and hugs Brenda XXX
Hi Sandra and everyone.
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of today’s card. And the gold layer and sentiment finish it perfectly.
I hope you are starting to feel better my lovely xx
Maria, I hope you manage to talk to your Mum and Dad. Sorry that he has problems with some toes now! Gentle hugs date on their way to you xx
My sinuses is finally feeling much clearer now thank goodness and I’ve only had a couple of days of migraines over the weekend. It seems like lots of people are suffering with the same sort of cold at the moment. I am hoping to get to my desk tomorrow 🤞🏻 Sleep well everyone. Take care. Love Sue xx
Hello all, another very windy day, now it’s pouring down.
ReplyDeleteSandra love your card, I have a few alcohol ink ,they are very old I suppose they will still work, must get them out for a play.
I have been trying to find room on my desk to make a card, it’s very cluttered, not sure why I take so much stuff out.
Hugs to all, Lilian
