Your Fancy Fold Challenge Cards

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

Just look at the amazing variety of card shapes on show today, you ladies absolutely rise to every challenge I set you!  I know that these cards took a lot more thought and effort but my goodness they are worth it!

So let's take a closer look.......

Janet

Janet, what can I say, you loved this challenge, Just look at how many cards you made.  Your first card is a "Waterfall" card, which are notoriously hard to make, I love the combination of dies that you have used :(Tonic Bouquets and Banners Wonderfall Die) to create such a pretty waterfall.
You also made an Easel and Double Easel using : Tonic Laced Bow Easel Set, and the Octagon card was made using Sue Wilson die.
WOW, is all I can say, as well as a huge THANK YOU for taking part.

 Karen

Karen has made an amazing Shaker Card for a Colleague of her husband, who loved a shaker card that Karen had made her before.
Using unused Die cut letters as confetti in your shaker is a bloomin genius idea!! I have a little pot of them as my small alphabet die cuts the whole alphabet every time and as you all know we just can't through the rest out!

"My entry is a couple of images from the internet and changed the colour The shaker part are waste letters from previous Makes with a few gold stars CONGRATULATIONS is SW MINI EXPRESSIONS and KAYLEIGH is MEMORY BOX TYPEWRITER
So when the challenge came I thought perfect!"

An amazing card Karen, thank you so much for taking part and Congratulations on being first past the post!! 😉

Lilian

Lilian has used Spellbinders Grand Floral Circle dies to create this stunning Circle card, such beautiful dies need no more than simple layering and topping off with a beautiful image and pretty flowers!
Stunning Lilian, thank you so much for taking part, I hope you have your strawberries and cream ready for today's Tennis!

 Margaret

Margaret shared this card with me a while ago but I had forgotten all about it!! Luckily she remembered and what perfect timing!
Margaret's birthday card for Gemma (Sue's daughter), is an Aperture card, made using Stampin'Up! Birthday Blooms stamp set. Such a clean and simple yet perfect design.
Thank you so much my lovely, I miss having your cards in the challenge more than you'll ever know!
XXX

Maria

Maria has made to outstandingly beautiful cards for this week's challenge. a Gatefold Card and a Tri-fold card both made using a really pretty Hunkydory kit that came with Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine. You have really made the very best of the beautiful papers Maria, I love both of your cards.
Thank you so much for taking part my lovely.
By the way, I buy my flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, they aren't cheap but their flowers are such great quality, they also come in a great range of colours.
XXX

Michele

Michele has pulled out all the stops for her challenge card this week. she had an order for a card for a Friend's friends 70th Birthday, the brief for the card was 'Pink and Russian Dolls'.
So Michele took the brief for the card and made an amazing 'Twist & Pop' card.
I think that your friend will over the moon with this card Michele, your attention to detail is incredible, the 'belly band', matching envelope and removable doll really show the lengths you go to to make a 'Special' card.
Thank you so much for taking part.  I hope you get lots of craft time in as you have the 'whole' week off next week !!!!
XXX

Nicki

The lovely Nicki has made a fantastic 'Stepper' card for this weeks challenge.
Nicki designed this card for her Brother, who took part in a Charity Boxing match.
Your attention to detail is amazing Nicki, I love how you have deigned the Boxing Ring and used the Mittens and Boxing Gloves. I bet he was really impressed with your card.
Thank you so much for taking part again this week Nicki, I absolutely love your cards and can't wait to see what you make next. You can share cards anytime my lovely, not just for challenges.
XXX

Val

Val, I really love the fold you have used for your challenge card, that topper that you have used is so sweet too, with that cute little girl.  A really lovely card, as always you attention to detail is incredible.
Thank you so much for taking part my lovely, your White Chocolate and Tia Maria Cheesecake sounded divine, I'm sure its well worth an extra ounce or two on the scales! ;)
XXX

You are all amazing ladies, thank you once again for your amazing efforts week after week, I am as always so very grateful.

Janet your cakes may have been simple but my goodness they sounded delicious and in the heat a fresh fruit tart is both delicious and refreshing.  How much longer have you got in Marigny?

Cheryl, I hope that you had a successful sale and that you have sold out, so that you didn't need to repack the car.  I hope you came home and had a relaxing dip in the Spa as a reward.  I am so tempted to look into one as some days I would do anything for a little extra pain relief.

It is so lovely to see the our Country so elated about the football results, it's fun to see what a difference it makes to peoples moods and mannerisms, there were some men almost skipping around Tesco's yesterday.  I fear there will be many sore heads this morning!

Well our dear sweet cat Milo decided that we needed to be blessed with another 'special gift', this one I have to say was a step too far!  I had stripped our bed and left the mattress bare to air after hoovering it.  I was sat on the patio writing my blog and I noticed Paul walking up the garden with a dustpan and brush, I asked what he was doing and his reluctance to elaborate rang alarm bells, so I made my way inside and into our bedroom, where I discovered a lovely blood stain on the mattress protector! Yes you guessed it, this time a mouse!!!
I am seriously considering having them back as house cats!  The gifts are getting bigger too, which worries me.  I am constantly watching for them coming back into the house now so that I can 'frisk' them before they enter, well in all honesty I send Paul, as Sue will confirm I am not very good with wildlife, dead or alive!

I hope that you all manage to stay cool today,

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra

  1. Morning Everyone
We are still melting in high temps (we are never satisfied are we. It's good to see/hear that the French are just as interested/bothered in the weather when we only think it's the British).

Oh what a wonderful assortment of different shapes this week and what's more not one shape repeated.

We're off this morning to a local Brocant in a village close by. It will be our first of the year and possibly the last for this year too so I'm hoping I can find something to bring back with me to Marigny.

We're in to our last week here as we leave for Calais on Friday and sail back on Saturday. It's been lovely being back and we are hoping to get another visit in sometime in the Autumn.

I'm sure that MARGARET has restocked the CAFE for you all. Have a good day everyone and take care. HUGS should have crossed the Channel by now for you all xxxx

    2. Hi Janet. Good luck at the Broncant. I hope you find some bargains. Your challenge cards are beautiful. I have never made a waterfall card, do you have any hints or tips that you find helpful when making them? Maybe Sandra and I will have a go on Tuesday?. Enjoy your last few days at Marigny x

    3. Hi Janet
Margaret has looked after us very well. Plenty of cold drinks and ice cream.
Great cards today from you as well.
Good luck at the Brocant ( had to look that one up j. Hopefully you’ll find plenty of bargains.

  2. Morning ladies,

After a long hot day selling my lucky dip bags, it was heaven to jump into the hot tub with Milly-May and have a long soak and playing with her foam water squirter.

A fantastic sale raised £79.02 which added to the £130 from Pete's Memorial darts match equals £209.02 For Cardiomyopathy UK. Fully chuffed such a good amount from 2 functions.
I was approached by the Chairman of the Wemdon Village Fete(the nearest village to ours, just 2 miles down the road) and asked to provide a stall for their Bank Holiday Fete end of August. WOW! They liked my stall so let's have a go and see how much I can raise there.

Who knew just 3 years ago how I much have progressed in dealing with my agoraphobia?
I have also decided to enter one of my celebratory rings plus a matching memory box in the craft section of Cannington Flower Show. It will be such a change from sewing so looking forward to getting dirty hands again. I have bought some new (for me) luscious powders, distress ink daubers and acrylic paints from Craft Declutter (at a fraction of the shop prices) ready for my messy session.

Before I forget, the gorgeous array of challenge cards are a WOW! factor for me to feast my eyes on. So many different styles and colour schemes, you have really done your selves proud this week, I cannot pick a favourite they are all stunning.

    Love 7 hugs

How wonderful to have another stall at another event. Your stall must have made a great impression. So good to hear how well your managing your agoraphobia.

    4. Hi Cheryl. Congratulations on raising so much for such a good cause. And on being invited to take part in Wendoms fete too. Its easy to understand why when you see your beautiful bags. I'm sure you will have another successful day there. I bet Milly-May loved playing with you in the hot tub, what a relaxing way to end the day x

  3. Morning Ladies

WOW-what an amazing collection of challenge cards today, such wonderful creations.

I had fun creating my Twist + Pop Card , I delivered my card for the ladies birthday yesterday on my way to the hairdressers.

Cheryl-We’ll Done, that’s a fantastic amount of money.

I sat outside all afternoon reading so I would miss the football, had a lovely relaxing time although my shoulders are a bit pink this morning & that was sitting in the shade!

More reading & relaxing today as hubby will be watching the Grand Prix this afternoon.

    1. Hope you are not too sore Michele from your p[ink shoulders. Tiegan and I have very pink shoulders and arms and we were under the gazebo all day, in fact we were moving the chairs into the shade, can't understand that. I think I will be looking into purchasing another gazebo with perhaps walls to shelter us even better or one with a UV blocking canopy.

  4. Morning everyone.
Such a wonderful display of amazing cards today and thank you ladies for all the lovely ideas.

What a brilliant match result yesterday. I must admit I didn't expect England to get so far but so happy that they have. I don't think my nerves will take much more and I've got to go all through it again on Wednesday!!!

SANDRA you'll have to have a serious talk to Milo about all these presents he's bringing you. He's shown you what a clever boy he is and now its got to stop.😀

Not much happening here today so I'm spending some time in my craft room. A lady has asked me to make a pop up box but very large. Just hate making them so I'll do it today and get it over with.

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.

Quick question VAL which glue did you use to stick the Scrabble letters? No wonder they’ve already sold and yes it will be a pain running out of letters - especially the “y”

      Delete
    2. Hi Karen. The letters I bought were from The Works. They had a little covered sticky dot on the back so I added a bit of Cosmic Shimmer glue and they stuck really well.
Love you card by the way. Is the silhouette a Serif creation?x

    3. Hi Val. I'm glad England won yesterday but must be honest and say that I don't watch the matches as I can't stand the lack of sportsmanship that is accepted these days. Its a shame that you keep getting orders for Pop up cards when you hate making them but you will do a wonderful job as usual x

    7. Great scrabble card Val. I found an image many moons ago for a crossword puzzle where you could put Happy Birthday in and the persons name.
I remember Michele had 4 Christmas pop up boxes from a magazine. I bought it on back issue when she told me the magazine name. But I found a couple of Utube tutorials that looked very easy to do.

Yuk Sandra, fancy having a mouse present in the bed. You’ll need to keep your bedroom door shut, so they can’t get in. Unless they’ve mastered opening that door as well as the kitchen one.

When I was about 8-11 on school holiday up north in sweden were we used to go, I helped this old lady looking after her Goats and got some money to buy myself an ice cream or some chocolate. Oh what lovely memories. hugs for you and Pete xx

Forgot about the window. If I remember rightly aren’t most of your doors the push open type. That’s how the cats get into the kitchen to torment the dog. Somehow predictive text changed cats to cars. Had to chuckle at a car getting into your kitchen.

Another really hot day nothing planed. I just have a pre assessment phone call this morning at 10.30am for a general anaesthetic for another injection as I'm still getting pain in my back & hip. On the 31st. So another performance of the gowns falling open & me getting on the operation table to lay on my front showing my big bum & everything else defently not a pretty site.
Its about time the hospital gowns where made to do up & stay done up.
Sorry soap box back in the corner.
CHERYL congratulations on the fabulous amount of money you've made for your charity all your hard work has payed off.

Hot here as well. I’m going some white work on my Groovi cards, so slowly does it. Looking forward to see what your up to card wise.
Shame you don’t live closer to me as we could have done some Groovi work together. Snap re hospital appointments as Pete goes on the 31st as well to see the consultant. He’s to have a Bone Scan before that though. I wish they’d hurry up with the appointment so I know what’s what.
Blogger really doesn’t want to publish for me at the moment.

Someone messaged her yesterday to ask if they could pick it up today.,anyway she told them that we wouldn’t be around until after 5.00pm. They hadn’t given her a time they were coming, and we weren’t staying in all day just in case. 7.15 and they still haven’t arrived so I’ll be telling her it’s still for sale as they didn’t turn up. Hi Sandra & all in café,
Sandra oh no not again, Milo is really making the most of his freedom bringing you presents to say thank you, but presents you could do without, don't know what the answer is. The challenge this week certainly provided a lovely selection of cards, & I could join in, I really miss making my cards, only about 12days till I see surgeon. Enjoy the sunshine.xxx#
Cheryl well done on making a good amount for your charity & well done on being asked to have a stall at another fete. I am sure Milly-May loved being in hot tub with you.xxx
Café open, as once again well stocked with iced drinks & ices, there will not be roast dinner today but plenty of salads in fridge & fresh fruit, so come & join me.
Sending hugs to all who need them love Margaret.xxx

Oh dear Sandra. Milo is getting really good at catching "presents" for you isn't he! I'm so glad for you that Paul was there to sort out the latest offering. I hope you have a lovely day in the garden my lovely xx
We have Chris jnr here until later on this afternoon. He is full of beans as the heat doesn't bother him too much, he definitely doesn't take after his Dad or Grandad as they both hate the high temperature. Even I struggle when.its this hot. I hope you all have a good day whatever you are up to. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx

  10. Hi All, hope you managing to keep cool, been to the range this morning BUT didn’t buy anything craft wise, a first for me. Then went to fairway furniture as we really need a new suite, we have had our old one which is moor than twenty years old, so good service you could say, saw a nice one but a lot of money to find out of pensions.

Really super cards today and also all of the lovely things Sandra showed yesterday, sorry forgot to comment, must be the heat.

Sandra we had a cat like yours years ago, in the end we had to shut all windows and doors, as her presents were always alive, the worst one being a lizard.

No tennis today so I might try sorting out my craft room, hugs to all Lilian

I hope your meds are making a difference to how you feel. I think this hot weather is getting to all of us at the moment. It was great sitting down by the canal after lunch. Saw quite a few narrow boats, and families out on canoes and kayaks. Nobody fell in or even nearly fell in today. We always take our fold up chairs so we can sit in the shade.

  11. Hi Sandra and ladies.
Sorry I missed you yesterday but the heat got too me in the afternoon with a bad headache and I don't normally have that so a new thing, yay. I'm not complaining tho for at last we got a proper summer but think we need to buy tickets for Cheryl's hot tub at this rate. No rain until Tuesday week it's say here, oh boy Lol
All the bought and made items yesterday are all super. Todays CC's are all wonderful and non the same. Like the card Michele made, look tricky to make and so does the waterfall one. Nice to see Nicky joined in. Well done everyone.
Windows and doors shut in your house I think Sandra, they only want to give you a present..... hihihi
Looked into the flower shop but shut until August but will have a look later ,thanks.
Oh I forgot karen, bless Georgina with her head up side down hihihi what are you like.
I wish you all have a nice day whatever you are doing. Sue enjoy having little Chris with you, just hope he takes it easy and Margaret, only 12 more days !
Lilian- take care and just rest, it's too hot for sorting the craft room today. That what's I'm telling myself.xxx

  12. What a great selection of different cards and projects using 'fun folds' - I adore 'fun fold' and interactive cards; I think they give another aspect to a project sent to the recipient. Sandra I wanted to send you my easel cards but I wasn't sure how I did this. They are on Stamping for Joy as I shared them there; so you could copy them and share them on your blog from there or I could send them directly to you. Please let me know what you want me to do, thank you. xxx
