Mixed Craft Saturday

Good Morning Ladies,
Welcome to another Mixed Craft Saturday,
Don't they come around fast?!
Now I am getting to the point of not knowing whether I
have shown something already or not, so bare with me please!

First up today is this gorgeous MDF tissue box cover by Brenda (littlelamb)
I love how you have used the ribbon under the butterfly wings, it looks
like an extension of the wings, so pretty, the stamping of the leafy
flourish is brilliant too, are they Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms? I have
those and rarely use them, I must get them out and play, thanks for the
reminder, isn't funny how we get side tracked by our current dies
and forget about all the older ones that we once loved and couldn't live without!
I love this box Brenda, you must be our most multi skilled member I think!
Thanks for allowing me to share you craft with our friends.

This Necklace was made by yours truly, last November, I made it for
that ill fated Craft Fayre that I did and that has scarred me for life I think!
The necklace is made using  Genuine Amethyst Nuggets, with Lavender Pearls
dropped down on swags of gold chain, I also made a Bracelet and Earrings to match.

This last set of photos was sent to me by Michele (Pharmacy),
It comprises of this very cute little box that has a
hinged top (like a cigarette box)!
Inside there are.....................................

These gorgeous little notelet cards, how sweet are they? they
all coordinate perfectly, yet they are completely different,
what an amazing gift to give somebody, I really don't think we use
notelets enough these days, it would be so lovely to receive one
of these through the door rather than an email wouldn't it?
It looks like Michele has used some Kanban Stamps, I think
I have the same ones, but I had trouble using them (due to my lack of skill)
I expect as they are clear stamps, I have more trouble with clear stamps!
Thank you for allowing me to share your project with our crafty sisters Michele.
Well what have you all got planned for the weekend?
I have promised Paul that I will go and spend the day at the allotment with him,
I have a stool and table set up for planting seeds etc,
I will take something crafty with me to do too.
Luckily Paul has a huge Polytunnel so I can sit in there out of the wind and rain.
I felt that he had earned me going there with him as he spent the whole day at
Ally Pally with all me friends last Saturday, although he quite enjoyed it I believe!
Love and Hugs to all of you,
Sandra

  1. Good morning Sandra and all who call in today. I see we have a bit of a different layout today but nothing like the fancy one yesterday?
Firstly Sandra you don't show us enough of your beautiful Jewllery this is gorgeous love your design with your amethyst and pearls.
Brenda, I love your tissue box, how pretty is this to have sat on a side table in your lounge or even in the bedroom, but why hide it where no one can see it, I have boxes of tissues every where.
Michele, aren't these little gift boxes great for giving. I don't know if you make your cards out of your bit box or do you start from scratch??? Love your design where they all are on the same theme yet different. I love using up my bit box bits doing cards. Tammy has asked for an Izzy bag with notelets for teachers gifts for this year.
Well a beautiful morning here a bit of a haze,,so we will hope it burns off soon, I am feeling a lot better this morning all that water has helped. So I think we will maybe end up taking Harris for a walk some where different.
Right every thing is filled up and on, I am going to make a nice cup of tea and I am not sure what I will have with it? Sue I hope you did as you were told and just let Chris and Gemma get on with it? Enjoy your holiday.
Sam I hope today will be a good one for you?
For those who are struggling with just everyday life and pain there are (((((( hugs))))) in the basket.

  2. Good morning must say I love the tissue box maybe because I just love this colour. Also the jewellery is stunning I'm afraid I haven't the patience although I would love to give it a try. I can sit and cut out the most difficult pieces and love to make different shaped cards but jewellery just seems a bit too intricate. Hope you enjoy your day at the allotment wish it was me - I just love my garden and pricking out seedlings and potting on is so relaxing - love the smell of compost - I know , weird or what lol. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend the sun is shining here in Wigan so need to get out and enjoy it (((hugs))) to all xx Jean

    1. Good morning Jean,
Lovely to see you in today, some jewellery can be easier than others, this design was a bit more involved, I really enjoyed making it!
I though it would be a nice evening piece to wear with a nice amethyst colour dress!
I am about to go and get ready to get dirty, have a great day,

  3. Good morning Sandra and the Gang!!!
SANDRA:- another one hiding her talents, love your beautiful necklace. I need Tutorials in October for beading like that.......please!!!
BRENDA:- WOW!!! love your beautiful Tissue Box it is stunning. Having that sitting out for all to admire is wonderful.
MICHELLE:- your Box of Cards is beautiful, love everything. Like Hazel I try to make these little cards with Bits from my Bit Box.
    Sun is up,
    The sky is blue,
I hope it is the same for you.
    My wish for everyone today.
I think it is a little chilly here at the moment. Hopefully it will get warmer as the day goes on.
I am feeling much better today, pain seems to have gone. Hopefully that's the Kidney Stones flushed themselves through.
I have a couple of orders needing to be done, will get on with them today. I find working while not feeling 100% I waste so much of my stash of goodies.
    SUE:- enjoy your holiday
SAM:- hope you feel much better today.
I have had my Tea & Toast, cleared up, money in the pot.
I have left my (((((hugs))))) in the basket by the door. All who are ill, in pain or just not feeling so good please help yourselves.
    See you all later

  4. GM everyone,

A wonderful plethora of crafts you have given us today Sandra.
Firstly, a gorgeous tissue box, made by our multi-talented Brenda, is so pretty it should be on show for all to see. I would love one of these in dark green please to match my suite in my living room.

Secondly, Sandra, your necklace is divine my dear, it would grace anyones decolletage. It's so delicate looking and I for one am certainly glad that 'that person' did not claim it as her own so you could show it to us.

Thirdly, oh, how pretty is the box of notelets Michele? I love the theme linking them and the box.

    A debate please ladies.
Although I have reserved a GC machine from Janet for my granddaughter Tiegan, I am in two minds whether to buy one in Teal for myself or the Sizzix Big Shot A4. Both of them are on offer in Craft Superstore.
Any comments please would be very gratefully received. I am so fed up with my Ebosser, it does not do what it says on the can, 'cuts with ease every time in one pass' Half the embossing folders I have collected over the years will not go through it with a lot of the pattern UN-embossed of those that do. And the fancier, more ornate dies need 2 or 3 passes. Even then I have to place them along the edges.
Thank you ladies, looking forward to your comments.
    Love & hugs

    1. Cheryl I for one would reconmend the Teal GC. I have a pink one and the difference is unbelievable. When I cut the Striplet Regal ( very fancy) on the pink one I needed 3 passes to make sure it wouldn't need bits to be finished? The Teal one I only have to put it through once and emboss the once and I get a prefect cut. And seeing I have over 80 striplets to cut along with the other bits the less I turn that handle the better, I wish I had it when doing Gillians invites! It's a good deal at the Craft superstore at £79.99 I was £89.99 but £10 is £10. Hope it helps. Hazel x

    2. Cheryl I received my new Teal GC this week and everything Hazel says is absolutely 100% true also I have various EF and they go through no problem and the embossing is lovely and even pattern all over. I too have an Ebosser and everything you say about yours is ditto for mine too it just sits there I don't use it except if I am desperate for something cut and there is no one to help me as with my shoulder turning the handle is a problem at present. I got mine from Craft World they are very good at getting orders out quick as when I looked on Craft Superstore they were out of stock and have not sent me an email to say they are in stock.
Craft World also have the Papermania storage bags for dies with an offer on them which I wanted. The Teal GC was £89 but came in 2 days and carriage was free.(I am like a little child when I want something I want it now not in a week's time!)
Hope this helps you Margaret xxx

    3. Hi Cheryl,
I am going to cause confusion now as after seeing the Big shot demo'd at Farnborough by a lady that wasn't biased to any machine, she had a few for sale, we (mrsB) and I watched her use a fussy pattern E Folder that embossed cleanly and crisp all over, she then took a very intricate lattice effect die and put it in the centre of the plates, she used a 300gsm + card! it was thick and coated with a shiny pattern! the machine cut it perfectly! I was amazed! now Pat has the new GC and while I think it maybe better than the pink one, it still has the issues of the best cutting spots are the two sides of the plates, plus with the reliability of Spellbinders GC machines being less than perfect I think my option would be The Sizzix Big shot, so should you have a lotto win, that's on top of my list!
      Sorry if I caused confusion!
      Hugs

    4. Hi Cheryl,
I, too, recently bought the teal GC machine. It is much better than my old one was and the whole action seems a lot smoother. I use the small plates a lot and I find I can cover those with little flowers etc. they all cut evenly! You can put the small plate through portrait style and then landscape which is excellent. It also embossess much more crisply all over . It sits more firmly to the worktop too but I bought an extra glass mat and it's fixed to that really securely. Hope this helps you . It's a real shame when we spend a lot of money on something and it doesn't really do its job! Love Myra xxx

    5. Love, love, love my Teal GC so much better than the Pink&Purple ones.
In my opinion the worst buy for me has to be the EBosser. Don't particularly like the Big Shot either, I still love my wee Cutrlebug for small things.

Another beautiful sunny day here, can't put any washing out yet though as hubby wants to pressure wash the flags at the back!

Brenda-the tissue box looks fabulous, a real work of at.

Sandra- your necklace is amazing. Do you still make jewellery?

My craft project is made out one piece of A4 card to make the main box, the rest is scraps. I can send Sandra the instructions if anyone is interested.

    2. Hi Karen,
I have all the birthstones and last started to do birthstone jewellery with a matching colour card and box, my problem is overcoming my major confidence issues and getting things out there to sell, I spent many hours making that necklace but convinced myself that is was rubbish and nobody would buy such a thing!
I also think that because you aren't a jeweller as such, people have doubts that you are actually using genuine gemstones, but I have all of the certificate to prove authenticity! Mind you it's the same with selling cards, people want a fully bespoke, personalised card but only want to pay a couple of pounds! I have been lucky in that my daughters colleagues order my cards and usually will pay me £10 for an 8 x 8, personalised boxed card! I didn't set the price either, they said that they thought that's what they are worth!
      Thanks for your lovely comments,
What is your birthstone just out of interest?
      Hugs

  8. Hi Sandra and all who call in today.
I just love your necklace Sandra, it's stunning. Must watch how you make these one day. I was lucky enough to receive a necklace and earrings for Christmas and my Birthday, as their quite close together. They are simply gorgeous.
Brenda another stunning string to your bow. You are such a multi talented lady and so modest with it as well. Michele I just love your box of notelets. Just love the stamping as its one of my things. Sandra I hope you gave a lovely day on the allotment with Paul. At least you'll be out if the wind in your Poly Tunnel.

    A debate Ladies please,
Although I have reserved one of Janet's GC for my granddaughter Tiegan, I am deliberating whether to go for the Teal GC or Sizzex BigShot A4 for myself. They are both on offer in Craftsuperstore.
I am SO fed up with my Ebosser. It does not do what they say, cuts everytime. And it does not accept half of my embossing folders that I have collected over the years, with some of them UNembossed in parts. So, who has what and which do you prefer?
    All comments gratefully received.

    1. my friend went for the Sizzix A4, she has an electric Big Shot Pro ( i think) because she has shoulder/back probs and wondered if she'd cope with a manual She loves it. The plates are a lot longer than GC, therefore can load up more eg. 3 smaller embossing folders. The teal GC looks good and lots of people have said how much easier it is than the raspberry I've confused you even more now I bet

  13. Hi Sandra and all the lovely ladies
What a lovely collection again today, I do like mixed craft Saturday as it is lovely to see what else people do. I've been spending so much time cleaning and gardening I haven't been crafting much lately. I finally pinned some pattern pieces onto my fabric yesterday afternoon but neither Emma or I can find our fabric scissors so the fabric is folded up again. I'm trying not to involve Emma too much as she had got so much work to do but sewing is definitely not my thing!
Brenda your tissue box is beautiful, I love the butterflies and ribbon and the flowers, would be proud to have a box of tissues in my lounge if it looked like that. I haven't had a play with mdf yet but it's on my very long list!
Sandra your jewellery is stunning, my sister makes jewellery so I know how much work is involved. This really is pretty and I can see it with some dangly earrings too. Are you making jewellery for the girls prom this year? I presume they have a prom, most schools seem to now. When do they finish school for study leave, it must be soon. I don't envy you having two stressed teenagers in the house- one is bad enough!!!
Michele you are so clever with your boxes and yes please for the instructions if you get the chance. The note lets are gorgeous too. I love a notelet, just right for saying thank you. I do like to write to certain people as they really apreciate it rather than a phone call or text. I've got some little notes to write at the moment, some family members have been sending old family photos to me for my cousin , she is doing a memory book for her dads 90th and asked my sister if she had any photos, it's amazing once you start looking how many different photos people have. I was sent one yesterday that looks like all the brothers and sisters with their wives/husbands with their mum and dad. It's not one I've seen before and there was my dad (with hair!) and my mum!
Well the sun is out here but the wind is blowing so a good washing day. I've got seeds to plant and grass to cut so must get up and doing after this lovely cup of tea. Julian left for work at 9, he got home about 2.30 this morning and I don't know when he will be back tonight. It's a nightmare for food as he says to forget about him but I know he should be eating proper food with veg rather than junk food on the run! Hopefully he's not away next week so I can be in control of what he eats again!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Patricia and Hazel I hope you are both feeling better today, I love how you share things! Keep drinking the water and the cranberry juice.
Sam I hope you are feeling brighter today and Steph too and I hope your dog is ok.
    Mrs B enjoy your holiday.
I can see we shall have to start up the ice machine soon for the cranberry juice and the late night Baileys drinkers!
Have a fun day everyone and see you all soon.
    Love Diane xxx

  17. Hello Sandra,
I was really disappointed with the layout this morning, it's only a little bit elaborate lol xxxxx
Brenda (Littlelamb) the Tissue box is beautiful, it's just the thing to give as a little present, I must have a go at this.
Sandra, how fabulous is your necklace, jewellery making is one of the things that I've never tried but this is just gorgeous - I'm amazed it didn't sell, but people do want things for next-to-nothing, and as you say - you know the stones are real - but they doubt you, even with proof.
Michele, the box and cards are great, I have added my name to the ever-growing list of people who would like the box instructions, please.
The sisters on this blog are a talented bunch aren't they?
Well, I'm taking it easy today. Back and neck are telling me that I shouldn't have overdone it in the park so I'll do very little. Don't know if I'll even be bothered to do the baby card but hey ho, I've just remembered I've volunteered to pack bags for a good friend's breast cancer charity. I'll take George and he can pick up the heavy things - and I'll be his glamorous assistant (that'll be the day). I just think there are a hell of a lot of people worse than me, some of them being on this blog.
Enjoy the sunshine ladies, my stint starts at 12 noon, so on with my shoes and off to Tesco (other Supermarkets are available lol).
    See you all later

  19. Hi Sandra and all crafty cronies!
Well Sandra, I do confess I look forward to Saturday to see what goodies you have to show us! It is lovely to see what everyone else makes .
Brenda - your tissue box is lovely! As Hazel , I think it was, said I have tissues everywhere! Grandma's are usually at the ready with the tissues! The boxes have to match their situation so I struggle sometimes! Sad eh! It would be so much simpler to make some lovely boxes.i tend to get the cube boxes as they take up less room. I love the colours you've used and your butterfly is gorgeous.
Sandra - your jewellery is always lovely ! This necklace looks way too tricky for me but an awful lot of work went into that. It's lovely.
Michele - I am trying to concentrate on getting your name right! Every time I think I have the iPad thingy changes it! I love your box and cards and really like the idea. I love how you've made them all different yet matching! I , too , would love some instructions - thank you! I like little cards because they are great for a thank you - and I will write a brief note more readily than a long letter.
It's a gorgeous day here today too and Conservatory doors opened wide for first time this year! We were away when we had the warm week two weeks ago!
I cleaned glitter off the inside of the lenses of my reading glasses this morning!
We think we may take a trip to the garden centre today and it's just lovely to enjoy the sunshine.
Enjoy your day at the allotment Sandra - hope it's warm enough for you to emerge from the poly tunnel !!
So pleased Hazel that you are feeling a lot better . Enjoy the good weather.
Norah - coo eeee! We miss you! xx
Sam - take care and don't do too much!
Sheila and Nikki - have a good day together. Xx
Maureen - live life in the slow lane today please! xx
Saba - keep off that trampoline ! Xx
Steph - sorry you are having such a bad bad week! Do hope and pray next week will be lots better. Hopefully some warmer weather will help you! xx
    Love to everyone,
    Myra xxxx

  20. Afternoon ladies, and what a wonderful afternoon it is. Sunshine and such a beautiful array of crafts.
A box of cards like these is always a great gift to give anyone, so useful.
Brenda, this is a lovely tissue box, much nicer to have one to match your decor.
And Sandra, I knew you made jewellery, but this is really stunning.
Some of you may be interested, there is a new website started, OK it's very small scale just now, but I suppose it's up to folks like us to push it further. It's called www.mycraftseller.com.
A place to put our extra creations on to sell, or unwanted stash, or buy bits and bobs. I can declare that my interest, and how I know about it is, my cousin's partner did their website, and she was telling me about it.
Lower fees than ebay which is good, Might be worth pushing it on blogs and putting our stuff on.
Right, better get some work done, I'll look in later.

  21. Good afternoon Sandra and the crew,
Lovely goodies on show today, thank you for sharing your ideas.
Brenda, what a lovely tissue box, I love the butterfly seated on the ribbon. Did you make it for yourself or was it made as a gift.
Sandra, your necklace is beautiful, it must cost quite a bit to make it from semi precious gems. I made a necklace for Joanne to wear on her wedding day and I know it would have been cheaper to buy one. She loved it though.
Michele, I like the idea of a hinged box with the little cards inside. They are so sweet and would make a lovely gift.
I haven't read all the comments yet so don't know what the topic of discussion is today.
We have had a fairly lazy morning and are about to go to a barbecue at the neighbours house. The sun is shining but it is still a bit nippy.
Tomorrow I am going to stay with Val again and am looking forward to that. We have been chatting on the phone the last couple of days and she is sounding a little more positive and has been to her sewing class and even though she only managed a couple of hours, it did her the world of good.
I will be back later to catch up,
Love you you all in the meantime,

  22. Hello Sandra and all of the lovely ladies,
What a lovely array of crafts you have brought to us today, the ladies on your blog all seem to be multi talented, I am completely in awe.
I hope you and Paul enjoy your time at the allotment, love the idea of him having a big poly tunnel where you can shelter and craft away to your hearts content and keep warm.

BRENDA - your tissue box is beautiful. Like Sandra I love the ribbon you are put under the butterfly.
SANDRA - your necklace is exquisite. You must have the patience of a Saint and such nimble fingers to do such fine work. I Love it.
MICHELE - I love your little box with the notelets, what a delightful gift this with make. I have added my name to the list for the instructions.
I have really enjoyed looking at all of today's beautiful gifts thank you girls for allowing Sandra to do this.
Another reason why this blog is so special, Sandra you are so generous in allowing so many of our crafty family to bring us their talents as well. I for one really appreciate this LOL
Well off out into the garden now, will do a little weeding and enjoy the sunshine. Also check everything is coming on okay. Be back later girls.

  23. Helloooooooooooooo
    I'm like Arnie, I'm back!
Had to throw in the towel and come home to lie down, but feel a lot better now. Rachel sent a text asking if the girls could have a sleep over tonight but for only the 2nd time in 11 years I said no.
Myra, I had a good laugh at you cleaning the sparkle off the inside of your reading glasses this morning, And here was everyone thinking your beautiful eyes were twinkling!! I bet it was a real "Thriller".
Saba, enjoy your barbie, and have a lovely time with Val. I am glad she is feeling more optimistic and happy and the time she spends with you will cheer her up immensely.
Patricia, if you can collect your kidney stones Sandra could show you how to make a very unusual necklace!!! One of my neighbours who had them went everywhere with a sieve until he got rid of them!!!! A little more difficult for a woman! (I think that may be too much information).
Cheryl, Are you even more confused with all the information as to which machine to go for, but isn't it great that we can compare notes on these things?
Ooh, I see Baileys was mentioned earlier. Now I'm no drinker but I do like a Baileys on ice. I think the last one I had was about 14 years ago, but I could fancy one now.
Sandra, I hope you have had a lovely day at the allotment with Paul, and have enjoyed some sun shine. I would also like to say thank you for allowing us to see the sisters' craft on your blog every Saturday, it's so nice to see what the others are getting up to.
We still haven't heard from Norah, I hope she is well. I don't know if she's been on Sue's blog because this is the only one I've been on today. I think I'll have a meander around the blogs and will report back later.
    Love and hugs to all

  26. Well ladies, how are you all. Hope you have all had a great day and enjoyed good weather.
That's me ready to get my feet up. Busy, busy here today. Thomas phoned to ask if he could come here this morning. All his friends in his football team were still on holiday. He did not want to go watch Robert play ... was like waiting for paint to dry says he!! He was here by 10am off with Grandpa on their bikes for over 2 hours. Back and hungry, dad and Robert appeared, it was Bacon Rolls, Sausages on Rolls and about a gallon of milk. John Jnr went home to walk the dogs, boys stayed here. Audrey working, John Jnr said he would give the boys a treat and they could have Chinese for tea so don't go cooking ........thank goodness.
I got an order for a few things including Boxes, once the boys left I got one of the things done and that's enough for today.
    Time to rest for me.
Will try to pop back later, have had to put my IPad on charge someone had been playing games on it ..... !!! and it was not me .... boys me thinks.

    1. Sounds as if you've had a good day, Patricia! The iPad - playing games - and out of charge had a familiar ring to it! I don't mind them playing the odd game - at least I know what they are playing! They are not allowed to use an iPad to play games for any length of time which is good! You see children sitting in restaurants playing on them or phones - or even watching a film! Colouring books and pencils don't fit the bill any more! Xxx

    2. They don't bring their own iPads, they know they don't get to play them. So much to play at outside here. Robert was exhausted after his foolball and helping John. I let him play while his days and I were having an indepth conversation, Thomas and Grandpa were collecting and laying Bark Chips in the garden.

I've managed to plant some seeds and painted the chiminere or rather I painted it, the wind blew and now bits of yellow flower have stuck to the wet paint! Ho hum. I will need to "relight my fire" and give it another coat -will it be Joseph's coat of many colours?

  28. Hi all. Well another busy day. Went to the studio to put my new pottery in the glass cabinet. Went for a walk along the cliff top into town. Was very windy but not as bad as last weekend. A lot of people about. Went to Poundland but didn't see any craft bargains. Then went to The Works as wanted some tissue paper - 9 sheets for £1 very pretty - pink with white polka days, a Dovecraft clear stamp - a bunch of flowers for £1.50 and 6, 7x5 canvas boards suitable for Oil and Acrylic reduced from £3.99 to £2. Walked back along the cliff top to the Gallery as one of the Artists had a preview afternoon for her Art Show. Had a lovely day.
Thank you for all your lovely comments about my tissue box. It was made for a Christmas Present. I made 6 in all. The colour was to coordinate with my friends lounge. One I made for a friend who likes beach huts. It was blue and yellow with beach huts all round it. On top I made shells out of Fimo and also put some fishing net on it. Was pleased with that one. As Sandra said the box is made out of MDF. First I put a coat of Gesso on it and then several coats of the Turquoise. I did it with a small paint roller so as not to get any brush marks. The butterfly is a Spellbinders one, I stencilled the foliage on the top and around the sides of the box in a slightly darker colour. The die I used is a blue one but cannot remember the name. It may be a Marianne's one. I cut it out and used the other part for the stencil. The flowers were Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms. Thinks that's all I can say about it.
SANDRA thank you for showing this today. I love your necklace. It is beautiful. I too make Jewellery but haven't tried anything as intricate as this. As someone else said earlier people just don't want to pay the money for handmade things but will pay twice as much without quibbling in a shop.
MICHELE. Love your notecard box and the notelets. Would love the instructions please. I am sure anyone would be happy to receive this as a gift.
Maureen, sorry you have not been feeling good today. I think sometimes we have to say no to our grandchildren coming. It's very hard, I know, but sometimes it has to be done.
To anyone else feeling under the weather I hope you will soon be feeling a lot better. Will be back to normal next week as going home tomorrow so will be posting earlier. Not looking forward to being on my own again but that's life.

Wonderful afternoon with Paul at the allotment, I did very little, sowed some more radishes, pak choi, rocket, lettuce, cauliflowers for later in the year, we managed to get A cucumber plant this morning, luckily it's the garden centre with a craft shop! We also bought some white cabbage plants and something called a Cucumelon, it looks like a cucumber plant but it grows little olive/grape size melons that taste of cucumber with a hint of lime! A bit quirky, we'll see how it grows!
Anyone want to give me a massage, must have stiffened up whilst leaning forward potting & sowing! I am off for a shower!

Have you thought about having your Labby's stones made into a pair of earrings? They would be quite unique, sort of "Hound Dog".
Ooohh I can hear the clink of glasses and bottles, whose got the Baileys? I've got a pint glass here, with the ice in it, so I hope you're not too long otherwise it'll melt.

I would like them to cut back but it probably keeps them going, even though they still argue about where everything goes.

Just got back from the Barbie, burgers, sausage and chicken were all very good, but the prosecco was excellent and I have to admit to being a bit tiddly. However, a baileys on ice would be rather nice!
Patricia, sorry you are suffering, kidney stones are horrid.
Years ago, whilst doing a medicine round, I once had a patient who having had her gall stones removed and was still a bit sleepy from the anaesthetic told me she had already taken her tablets and to my horror saw that the little jar on her bedside table which should have had her stones in was empty! She really had swallowed them. We never put her right!!,
Sandra, glad you had a good day at the allotment. We grow veg at my MIL's and also have chickens, so plenty of fresh eggs and seasonal produce without any chemicals. The only downside is that they take a lot of cleaning to get rid of the soil and " creatures" and I hate "creatures", especially in my lettuce.

  41. Oh, you taking my name in vain, Karen. I just had a glass last night, I didn't drink the whole bottle. .
My veggie story is when my mother in law had a veg shop, and one lady on Christmas Eve bought all her veggies, but no sprouts. When Jean asked here why, she said the delivery had came before the shop opened, and was sitting on the pavement, and she saw a wee dog lift it's leg on the bag of sprouts.
Always wash your sprouts before cooking..
With that, I am off to bed.
    Night night

    2. eeeew that's gross, I had a friend that worked in Asda and they had Rats running in the store all over stuff, it was beside a big river so that's probably why, but how gross to think that they were running all over the produce!
I guess we don't know the half of it, I will never drink out of a can as I read a story about someone drinking from a can and dying of from the Rat pee, how scary is that!
Well I am off to clean my teeth!

  42. Hi, anyone left or have you all gone to bed after your drinking party? tihi
Saba, great the bbq was nice. Nothing better than have that and be able to sit outdoors.Say hi to Val when you see her! Glad she doing well.
Sandra, I'm glad you had a good day too. Say hi to Paul. is he rub-a dub duck tonight ?
Slugs, spiders, wasp and other creepy crawlies and bugs, don't like them much but maybe Diane's gardening gas could kill them off, does it help if you eating lots of baked beans ? and then you were off to be now ,what? hihi it's so funny to read all the comments with spelling hiccups oh,sorry was that Muriel trying to get up the stairs lol.
To all that are missing, take care and do come back soon!
Good night all, hope you get a peaceful night and not in to much pain.

  43. Hi again night owls. I really must get my head down. I am presently sitting up in bed with a heat cushion at my back having just downed an anti inflammatory tablet with my glass of wine ( not very sensible, but who said ex nurses were sensible). Remember the zip wire and trampoline? Not a good ending I am afraid to say and have been suffering since Wednesday.!!!! However am hoping that by tomorrow all will be well again. So it just remains to say goodnight and God bless to you all. Saba xxx
