Aqua Birthday Wishes

Good Morning Ladies,
Well were are actually in April today, not the weather for April is it!
Todays card is Aqua, White & Black, it looks quite and clean and simple card, although the angle and
lighting don't do it justice.
I took a piece of white card and used the inner decorative die of the Scandinavian Collection Stockholm Die set by Creative Expressions, to cut the detail into it, I then matted then onto a piece of Aqua card and then matted that onto black, I then mounted this onto dimensional foam tape and then on to the same pattern of matts and then onto a white card blank. I then used the centre two Dies
Scandinavian Collection Copenhagen Die set to create the central focal element, with a Birthday Wishes sentiment stamp from a Creative Expressions set stamped in the centre in Archival Black ink and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Clear Embossing Powder. I mounted this into the centre of the decorative die cut.
I then cut the Scandinavian Border Die out of Aqua Card and stuck to the card using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue down the centre, so that you can lift the edges slightly to give a little
dimension, I then added a strip of adhesive back pearls down the centre of the border, I tied a double bow out of black ribbon and used a glue dot to stick in to the centre of the border.  I then used Sue Wilsons Delicate Daisies dies to create and aqua and white flower for the centre of the bow and finished it with an adhesive black pearl. Four black pearls in the corners and some tiny aqua pearls around the decorative die cut.
I hope you like the card and I look forward to reading your comments.
I would like to say how relieved and pleased I was to see Sam in the Café this morning, I made my day, its lovely having you back my lovely.
I must apologise for my lack of input in the blog yesterday, I had an amazing day with Sue, we managed by crafting and a lot of laughter! Then the girls were invited to a sleep over, so Paul and I had the very rare occurrence of the whole house to ourselves! Woo Hoo!!!!!
So I felt to mean to spend the evening on the blog, which is what I was planning after Sue had gone.
I have Pat coming today, so more crafting and laughter today!
Love and Hugs to you all

  1. Morning ladies. Kettle on. Flower poses changed on the tables, hope you like them. You'll find some hot cross buns gently warming in the iven - enjoy. Glad you had a lovely day yesterday and I just know you'll have another wonderful day. Im glad you spent the time with Mr husby Sandra, it must be so hard to keep up, I know I cant lol, its like a continuous conversation lol. Id get nothing done if I kept popping in for coffee lol.
This is the most beautiful card. All my fav colour's and dies. I have to say that the Scandinavian border is my most favourite, its so delicate and I love to snip down the centre and use them as a border round all four sides of a mat sometimes. I have to say that you make 'my kind' of cards Sandra, lots of mats and layers, dimension, a stunning focal point and really easy on the eye. Never too much going on, every card you show is gorgeous.
Sending love to all. Hope you have a better day Sam. You have to be at full health so you can enjoy that amazing holiday next month ! I dont mind taking your place, id just love some warm sun, clear blue ocean and soft beautiful sand, not forgetting living in luxury !!!
Have a good day everyone. Wrap up its sooo cold again.

I hope that you have all been saved from any serious wind damage, it is a beautiful sunny day here at the moment, still a bit gusty at times though. What a stormy start to April! Take care everyone. Glad you had a bit of just the two of you time last night Sandra. I bet you loved having Paul all to yourself my lovely. We wouldn't be without our families but just now and then it is great to be on your own isn't it : ) Take care xx

It was so lovely crafting together yesterday, we did have fun as always!
I hope you got your card finished!
Please, please remember to take a photo so that we can all see how fab it is. You would have finished it if you didn't have your engineer head on! I do think you are a closet genius though!
I hope you appointment went well today and that you didn't suffer too much with wind damage ;)
It was amazing just having those few short hours to ourselves, we do all get caught up being busy with life to make enough time for each other.
looking forward to next week already,

  3. Morning Ladies

After a very wild night (weatherwise) everything seems secure. It's still really windy & trying to rain now.

Sandra-beautiful card today. I live the addition of black, makes everything stand out just that bit more. Sue Wilsons card today also has black on it-you must be co-ordinating your cards now!!

Best get ready for work. Hope everyone has a nice day with lots of crafting time in it.

I hope you are well my lovely, that wind is just relentless and the howling is enough to keep anyone awake! Amazingly no damage though, apart from the odd wheelie bin suicide and recycling blowing
      everywhere!
Thank you for your lovely comment, if only I were good enough to be coordinating with Sue, I would! Even being mentioned in the same sentence is unbelievable!
I hope you have a good day at work and are looking forward a long weekend!

  6. Good morning Sandra and ladies. A bit of a lie in for me this morning, even the dog decided that he would have a lie in too! Beautiful sunny day here, but with a hard frost, April? I am beginning to wonder! But a least we don't have the wind and rain so I will just be thankfull.
Steph the tables look lovely with there little poses of flowers, and the smell of those hot x buns is mouth watering, I will have one with my tea.
Sandra your card is stunning, then again we have come to realise that is nothing new, your colour choice is perfect along with your selection of dies, pearls and ribbon. So glad you had quality time with Paul, it will be have good for the both of you to have the house to yourselves.
Sam, may every day bring you a little more well feeling.
Brenda, please take it easy while driving, but enjoy your little trips.
Myra and Saba did either of you sleep? I think I can feel your twos excitement levels up here, enjoy every minute. Hope you have your tena ladies on as I think you will need them with all the laughing that will go on. We will all be in the cafe tonight to hear how it all went.
To everyone else have a good day what ever you are doing, me I am off to the Easter service at the school, then it's home to relax. We can't go out until the courier man has been to collect a returns parcel been told between 1-9, we think it will near around 1 as that's the time Yodel deliver here, so fingers crossed. I hate waiting in for these kind of things. Right that's me off. Hazel x

Can I just say your scotch pancakes were delicious last night, Paul enjoyed them too, we shared them in front of the TV together!
I hope you enjoyed the Easter Service at the school, I loved going to those and miss them hugely, I love watching the children act out their parts and singing, almost always there was a hilarious moment, totally unplanned and unexpected, some child would do something funny.
I hope that you didn't have to wait in too long for your Parcel collection, an 8 hour window is quite extreme, I like you hate waiting, you feel like you can't go upstairs or get the washing in in case you miss them calling!
What day is the Cotswold Cafe's Scottish Contingent meeting up?

Got NOTHING!!! NO! Card Packs in "The Works" NO! 3x Foam Tape for £1 NO! Magnetic Sheets ......... a right bummer!!!
Had a good day out though.
DIES:- I now keep in their original Packaging in Boxes I get at Dunelm. Pleaseeee!! don't ask how many!! Older ones are on magnetic bits in plastic wallets from LOTV plus an ArtBin with its magnetic plates there are extra in it and its full.
STAMPS:- I have them on thick Acitate Sheets in A4 storage boxes.
Wood mounted in one of these toy boxes from IKEA out in the shed I never use them now.
StampinUp ones are in their own boxes. Sentiment ones I use all the time on thick Acitate in an A5 storage box. I am not really a Stamper but I keep buying the blooming things for some reason.
I have fallen in love with the 2 Step Stamping System. The stamps do the work and it looks like you have coloured them in.

    3. Patricia,
You sound very organised, sorry you didn't get any crafty bargains,
I have started cutting down the side of the die packets so that they open like a book, you can then add a little square of magnetic sheet to hold the dies, I just stuck it to the original place that the dies were on their packaging, I then store them is a box so that I can just flick through to find the one that I wanted!
I love the effect of your 2 step dies, and would like to get my hands on them, the wild rose one that you used last week I couldn't get anywhere!
Hope you have a good day,

  11. Hello Sandra,
What a lovely surprise to have a quiet evening with Paul, all the nicer because it was unexpected.
Oh what a beautiful card. It really is so pretty and the colours are just gorgeous. There aren't enough words to say how nice (such an insipid word) this is.
Have another lovely day crafting and chatting with Pat today, no wild party mind!
Myra and Saba - jealous, me? Whatever gave you that idea? Have a great time and behave yourselves!
Hazel, I hope your "man" comes sooner rather than later. It's a bind staying in hour after hour for a delivery.
Patricia, I thought you and John had taken a leaf out of Hazel's book and decided on a quick visit to Australia, I'm so pleased that you put me right straight away. You're such a globetrotting pair that I wouldn't have been surprised if you were going to the other Perth! It would have been an extremely expensive hair cut for John!!!!
Diane, I really hope that the root canal work is not too uncomfortable and that it is over before you realise it. You have my sympathy and hugs if you want them.
Cheryl, yoo hoo Cheryl, can you come down now please, I've got a stiff neck looking for the right cloud to see you!
Steph, have you been working overtime to get the camellia petals cut so quickly, no wonder you have shaky fingers, they must have been going so fast that they were just a blur!
April Fools Day today, my mam and dad's wedding anniversary 86 years. It was always a family joke as to who was the biggest fool for getting married, mam or dad. They always just laughed.
Well, I'm off to the supermarket (or blood pressure alley as I fondly call it) and then a quick lunch.
Gale force gusts of wind here and it's making it so cold. The sun is shining, but when you go outside it's enough to cut you in two.
Love to all, I've helped myself to some hugs.

    1. Hi Maureen,
I've come off my cloud. Very busy morning today, with visit to Nationwide, the hairdresser to book appointment for next week, Matalan for birthday presents and then home. Was only in 1/2 hour and friend called in for quick cuppa then I'd just sat down for a bite to eat before collecting my friend Judy for her doctor's appointment when in she walked. She's a lovely lady but boy can she talk, she hops from one conversation to another without giving you a chance to reply. And I don't like talking with my mouth full! Then she kept asking me if I was OK? Anyhows, time then to fight the traffic roadworks in Bridgwater to get the other side of town for her. Tried coming home along the back-roads before finally joining the A38 again at Morrison's, into B&Q to return some goods, came in and got dinner on for 5 o'clock tonight when family descend for mid-week roast. Phew!!!
Time now to sit and read and leave comments on everyone's posts.
Sandra, once again you have excelled yourself with your very very pretty colourful card. Loving it immensely. Well done darling. I hope you are still enjoying your day with Pat, throughout the day I could hear peals of merriment from you two. The same from Myra & Saba.
Just got a new office chair delivered so no more sitting on cushions to reach the desk. I'll pop back later on when I have my house back to myself.

    3. Hi Maureen
Thank you for your concern. When the dentist started to drill the tooth it had a large crack in it going down to the roots so the root canal wouldn't have worked. He took the tooth out in the end, it's a back one so won't notice. It's getting a bit sore now but I've managed to eat some soup so can take some more painkillers before I tuck down for the night.
You sound very organised with your craft room tidying. My craft stuff is in the study. My husband had to tidy the desk and floor so our daughter could use it for her studying. She is just as messy so I only had a coupl of weeks where I could get in there without stepping over piles! Would you like to come and visit to help me tidy?
      Take care

  12. Maureen. What are you saying about Patricia and I? It's all our fathers fault!!., he was always moving us all over the place when we were young. Now as for one gettting their hair cut and going a distance to get the right hair cut??? Patricia would go to Dalyan in Turkey if she could every 6-8 weeks if she had a private jet. If she played the lottery and ever won a very large amount that's just exactly what she would do!!!
Can anyone else or is it just me that hear all that chatter and laughter that's going on??? And not in the cafe either, well yes I suppose Sandra and Pat are just through the house so they are making a lot of it!!. No it's more from the west side up near Cheshire??? Oh that will Saba and Myra then, are they going to have time to eat that fabulous lunch with all that chatting they aredoing.
Well I did my " granny bit" Easter service was very good, a little long, but from the little ones in the nursery to the P7 class they all got to do something, only 130 in the school, and very well put together. Beth's mum left just after the Cello playing, excuse a conference call? Now I am not sure about that personally. Any way Beth gave me a Hugh smile and a little wave, so she was happy and that's the main thing. Now I am off to do some lunch then it's a crafting afternoon I think. Have a few cards to do, one being Beth's birthday card, it's her birthday while they are away so I do have a bit of time, I want to make a card that covers her love of vaulting and anything to do with her and Patch her pony. I had my first cuddle of her at 8 hours old, she is like another grand daughter same with Anna granted she was 12 weeks old. I think the fact I work always over 50 hours minimum a week as why I have such a bond. Grandsons and granddaughter do miss out of me seeing them do these things, but thankfully they understand I am working. Hazel x

    5. Hi Hazel,
can i say that i think that is the height of rudeness just staying long enough to see her own childs performance and giving no thought to how the rest of the children might be feeling seeing a grown woman wallking out on them when they are trying their best, poor wee souls. sorry, size 3 right in there again but you just don't do that whether it be the youngest of performers or the oldest, you don't get up and walk out half way because you've heard what you came to hear, either that or my wee mammy brought me up wrong but even the poorest of performances you had to sit there until it was over as the people were doing there best
      sorry x

    6. You are so right, the mum next to me had to go as she had got her older child off ill, but she works in the school, so the children won't have noticed her going so much as the school staff were all moving things etc. No mummy was rude, if she knew she had a conference call at that time, why did she come or better still change the time she has known for over a week what was on today, no she just doesn't do these things she did, but lately no, but you know something Norah she will find out her biggest mistake in years to come. These things like today are memories in a child's mind and they always remember the bad ones as much as the good ones. We didn't have much when ours were young, but they have happy memories and always speak about the little things, like these type of days. No money doesn't by the smile and little wave I got this morning, I was priceless. Hazel x

I second everybody's comments about Beth's mum. I hadn't realised that she left before the end of the concert. How rude is that, and how selfish.
As I said before, Beth will love you very much and always think of you with fondness when she's older.

    9. I agree with everyone else Hazel. They are both very lucky girls to have you. My daughter in law rarely goes to the school. If my son cannot pick up his daughter then I go. It's only on the rare occasion if I am away and my son is in London that she goes. She has been away in Brazil since 7th Dec and arrived back tonight. She did come home for 4 days in between. Twice she told my granddaughter she was coming back on a certain date and then at the last minute changed it. Just glad I can be there for my granddaughter. She fakes no interest in her daughters school work. Neither r eading or homework. Sorry to rant but it just upsets me.

    11. Oh what a rude mother, I have seen it so often though working in a school and have wiped the tears on the sad little faces of children who's parents or grandparents couldn't come. You get to know the children who will be missing a parent. On the other hand we had a young mum who's child came to school by taxi and lived at least an hour away. Mum didn't drive so she would see her child into the taxi, walk to the trai station change trains twice and then get a taxi to the school to arrive in time for assemblies and nativity plays. Once we realised what she was doing someone used to meet her at the station. The taxi wasn't allowed to transport her and her son together due to insurance and child protection! Mad isn't it . I know your kindness will be remembered for many years Hazel.

Afternoon ladies of the Coffee Shop
Sandra your card today is just superb!! I've fallen in love with it and oh how I would love to have it fall on my mat any day of the year. I love everything about it and to me it looks more a 'work of art' than a card.

So pleased you and Paul had a lovely evening all to yourselves. These are the times you really treasure - I know you love all your family but isn't it just wonderful to have the house to yourselves once in a while.
Well ladies I've read all your posting both from yesterday and today and I confess to being somewhat confused (now now none of those comments please or no Pastries when I return lol). I'm still in travelling mode - or that's what I'm putting it down to-. We have done the dreaded Supermarket run - 95ks there and back is not much fun but it really does re-inforce why I have groceries delivered back in the UK. I really do not know which bit of me hurts most or should it be easier to say where does it NOT hurt. Anyway Sandra I hope you're having another super day; that all new friends meeting up this week-end have a wonderful time; Hazel hope the Scotland visit goes well and that the haircut is just as wanted; Sam hoping your feeling better today than yesterday; OK sorry if I've missed out on something - I just know I have but my Tens Machine is calling and I'm answering it's call. Enjoy the rest of your day. My hugs as yesterday are on their way via tinternet so I hope they arrive. The sun is shining so speak to you all tomorrow.
    Hugs Janet xxxx

It was no problem cutting the camelia petal's just had 2 peices of card together and cut them the same time I was running another die through for my other card, how did I ever get things done before I had a machine to cut A4 ? What a God send, took months of hard saving from my monthly market, but well worth it, Id still be saving NOW if it were not for the market, so all you talanted ladies sitting chuntering, slurping on your drink and playing up by putting currants up ya noses from the buns, mark my words, think of doing a lovely farmers market, I cant believe you ALL keep your amazing work to yourselves (apart from Patricia) its about time you all realised just how bloomin wonderful your cards etc are, people will want what you make and ask for MORE. Think on, dont think your NOT good enough... TOSH !!!
Anyway, Saba and Myra, behave, I can hear you from Bolton ! STOP flicking sultana's at that poor woman..... IT WAS ME lol

  15. Good afternoon Sandra and the coffee shoppers,
This is a beautiful card Sandra and can i say just enough black in it for my liking without upsetting anyone. The black really shows up the white and aqua nicely and just adds that we touch of drama without overwhelming the rest of the design which just makes it stand out and on display like it should.
I hope that you have another lovely day today with our other "Grace" although it isn't the same as wanting the 3 graces to have a good time, it just doesn't have the same ring to it somehow the 2 graces. Now we seen you cuddling on the couch and i'll leave it at that from what the fly seen from the wall, it's a wonder he didn't fall of the wall. As lovely as it is to have all at home again it is also lovely to have that rare time just yourselves flower, isn't it.
Been out in Stirling with my friend Di and have come back with a dress, bolero and fascinator for my wee cousins wedding and my special neices wedding later this year. It just was me if you know what i mean so have found flat pumps to go with it since my legs can't be trusted to control themselves on a normal day, i will have no chance at a wedding. Do you know they were out off Kaliko in Debenhams and they never even wrapped them up in tissue paper! Now i know i might be a tad old fashioned but come on expensive clothes surely don't just get tossed into a bag nowadays do they? The fascinator is in this ginormous box as their fascinator boxes were too small for it but i'll need to get wee combs to sew on to it to keep it in my hair as it is too fine to keep the thing on the head. By the way the only thing i paid the normal price for was the fascinator as i am a keepskate and don't believe in paying vast sums for things and i want more than one use out of them as well so even after the weddings i will be able to use the dress and bolero. I've found the jacket on line and have ordered it to see if it looks better but will wait and see. Mum has a mother of pearl handbag that i am going to use so with that and her golf charm bracelet and my daddy's bangle that he bought me when i was 22 i will in my own way have them with me.
Well, i have brought my knitting so i will sit across in the corner and watch to see who else comes into the cafe today although poor Janet is recovering from her long haul messages shop and our Sam is still having a rotten time of it. I have brought in my basket of hugs to give out but some of them are acting up so i'm sorry whoever gets the ones that are full of mischief. Can i please have a hot chocolate Sandra as i think i could do with the energy boost after my morning out.
    Love and crafty hugs

    1. Norah, I know what you mean, you pay all that money for the clothes and they don't even now give you a bag? And I refuse to pay 5p to advertise for them, but on saying that putting the clothes straight I to your own bag makes me feel like I am shop lifting, as you say if they at least wrapped them in some tissue it would be so much better. Glad you have your outfit sorted, I have my shoes and have seen an outfit that I like, will maybe go to Perth next week and try it on., but I do have a back up plan so I am not bothered, as I know I will be ok, it's just my handbag that's the problem. What colour is your dress? Being nosey that me. So glad you had a good day with your friend, This time next week will know each other better. Hazel x

Hello Norah - hope this arrives by cybrespace OK. I'm in full agreement with you if I buy something special and expensive - and that's not very often since retirement - I want it to be special and in proper tissue and wrapped gently not just thrown into a carrier bag. I too will not advertise for commercial brands - they even want you to advertise on the arms of glasses these days - aren't they all satisfied with all the money they make? Thank you for the hugs off now to look at tea cooking in the oven Salmon with Daphinois potatoes tonight and perhaps a little glass of red wine. Not as much as some have been drinking late at night recently hehehe.
Take care my young lady. Will want to see your outfit when I get back. xxxx

    5. Janet you are just too posh for some of us so could you please tell me what they are in english as the only thing that registered in my brain was potatoes :)
My frock is sleeveless(hence the bolero) but decent width in the shoulder straps so that the forth road bridge can get held into place, and it has over blown poppies on it and comes under my knees because don't do mini skirts(never have) as having an erse the size of mine and legs that would put a lumber jack to shame i like to cover them to the slimmest part of me(thank god one part of me is slim). With the frock having ivory parts in it i got the ivory titfer and have ordered ivory flat shoes so i'll try it all on when i've got all the bits and the iron work in place.

Well I'm back from the dentist - the tooth was cracked all the way through and fell apart as he was drilling it so he took it out instead - luckily it's the very back tooth. I managed to drive home ok and have laid down as he recommended but the anaesthetic is just starting to wear off and I can tell it is going to hurt in an hours time! Painkillers at the ready! I can hear all the chatter from here, Saba and Myra and Sandra and Sue. Hazel I'm glad you enjoyed the concert, at least you were there to see her play, you are like a grandma to her.
Janet what a shame you can't get a shopping delivery in France , it is so handy when your not up to going to the shops, although I like to go and see what they have got and get inspiration!

Sandra, I Love your card today, I mean all the things you make are wonderful but this card is so, wish I could find the word for it. I have said it before and I will many times that you have a very special talent to put colours together, the harder I try I just make bobo's of it all and in the bin it goes. My outing this morning was nice even if we didn't go to wyevale in the end but ended up at the Range lol .Could I leave the shop empty handed, heck no lol but I really tried.
Myra and Saba must have a great time together, as we can hear them around the whole of Uk chatting and laughing lol
Hope you and Pat have a nice day too. How is the hip working, not too much pain ? Will you be able to walk around AP ?
Norah ,your outfit looks lovely( in my mind) you will be the bell of the ball, is that how you say it.

  20. Hi Sandra and everyone,
Tried to leave a comment this morning, I was returning home to go the dentist. That left John we just Callum Big sister had gone off to school to do some work for her art GCSE. She's phoned and is now on her way back. Pleased to say dentist went fine. Just a little cleanup. And I was back at our daughters by 1 o'clock so haven't done too badly.
Sandra your card is beautiful really really beautiful, your dies are absolutely stunning as is the colours you have used. Normally I don't like black on cards, but when it just slightly shows WOW it makes such a difference to you're matting and layering - it really makes the whole design pop.
Will pop back later and see what everyone is up to.

  21. Hi Everyone,
Just a quick latte, nothing to eat thanks as I've just had something, I'll help myself and put the money in the pot.
That remind me, I found 25p down the side of the cushion on George's chair, shh don't tell him, it's now in my "Soiree" pot!!!
I see we have a new lady?? in our cafe called Brendan my we are attracting all sorts now lol. I just hope the sex change wasn't too painful Brenda ha ha. Actually, when I was doing my family history a chap was doing his/hers as he was dressed as a female and had to go around like that for a couple of years before he could get the full treatment. He was on hormones and the like but just waiting for the final "chop". She was the lovliest person you could wish to meet, but so manly looking. About 6' tall with hands and feet like shovels. I really felt for her. By the way I'm glad the visit to the dentist was ok.
I wonder if Myra and Saba have stopped talking yet, what do you reckon? The noise level down south is enormous. Health and safety bosses have informed the BBC that ear plugs are being issued to all the population!!!
Norah, your outfit sounds lovely. When I buy expensive clothes (few and far between now) at Fenwicks or John Lewis,, they always add tissue paper in between the folds. Poor workmanship at Debenhams I would say, they need proper training. We'll expect you to model this outfit for us!!!
I can now walk into my craft room and one side of the floor is completely clear, still got the other half and the rest of the desk to do. 3 children came for after school dinner and a 4th for a snack (I tend to round up the waifs and strays lol) so I've just got cleared away and will do half an hour's clearing and an hour crafting. I'll be back later, so watch yourselves and as Steph says, stop flicking the sultanas about!
Cheryl, you're going to be so posh, we'll have to pay to talk to you.

Wow I've had a lovely day! It only took me about 50 mins to get to Saba's daughters and the M6 was very kind to me both ways!
I felt as if I was meeting a friend, not a stranger and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The icing on the cake was meeting little Oliver at the end before I left. He is gorgeous! He is clearly Granny's No 1 fan which is just as it should be! I don't know where the time went - my husband I think had misgivings about all of this but he said - you've obviously had a lovely day - I'm so pleased! I made him sandwiches for his lunch before I left - do I get brownie points for that?
If you are as nice as Saba we'll have a lovely time in October!

Do you think she will bring a Sue die as I was a brave girl? Haha.
Norah your outfit sounds lovely but I know what you mean about the lack of tissue paper. Emma had a dress from phase 8 for the wedding last year which cost over £100 and it was folded up and put into the smallest bag. I don't often go to shops where you get those lovely bags that really look as though you have been shopping, it's usually a M&S carrier bag! I did have some lovely pjs for Christmas from beau avenue that came beautifully boxes with tissue paper, scented rose petals and a scented sachet to go in your undies drawer. It was very exciting.
It sounds like everyone is busy getting ready for Easter, looks like there might be some warm weather on a couple of the days but Good Friday doesn't look good. We are going to my sisters for Easter Sunday but that is the only plan so far, hopefully some gardening and a lovely walk!

Sandra your card is stunning. I had to read the instructions 3 times until if finally dawned on me that I was seeing a sort of optical illusion. It looked like it was it was embossed rather than die cut. I have had that happen to me a couple of times on Sue's blog. Maybe it's just my wonky brain.Brilliant photos though, thank you Paul. Sandra I do hope you are considering applying to be on a design team.
Well ladies, I have had a lovely day and made an equally lovely friend. It was so nice of you all to think of us. I can honestly say that from the moment Myra arrived I knew we would get on. She made me a stunning card which I shall treasure forever and brought a present for Joanne in a bag which she had decorated beautifully. We never stopped talking and I didn't want her to leave.

  26. Hi Sandra
Well what can I say about today's card. It looks stunning in the photo, but looks even better in the flesh so to speak. Just thought I was having a funny turn just now. I had been looking through the comments, then Pete asked me to look at some words for him on Scrabble. When I went back everyone seemed to be a day behind. Then I realised I'd gone back to yesterday's comments. Must be having a CRAFT day, as I kept putting things down and couldn't remember where I'd put them. Lucky you and Paul having an evening to yourselves last night. I hope you both enjoyed the peace and quiet. Looks like Saba and Myra had a lovely day together. This was how the three of us were Saba when we met up. It was like we'd known each other for ever. Hope your feeling better today Sam, it's good to see you on the blog. Hope your driving went ok Brenda and it didn't hurt your wrist to much. Just take it gently at first. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Ally Pally. It would be lovely to get some sunshine soon ladies. Hope that spring hurrys up and makes an appearance. Now I've just been handed a glass of fusions wine. It's so yummy it reminds me of christmas and it's made by Echo Falls. Although it's a red wine it can go in the fridge. It's sold by Asda but it's in the White wine Isle, how bizarre is that. So all of you alcoholics (only kidding ). who like a glass of wine, pull up a chair and we'll have a good old natter.

Don't know what to say really. Our children should be a joy and come first but I'm old fashioned, maybe. They take everything in and are not stupid! You have suffered more than I can imagine - sending lots of love, Myra xx

I am so very sorry, my heart goes out to you and I can't begin to imagine your sorrow. Please don't ever feel you need to apologise about feeling angry when parents don't realise just how lucky they are. You more than most have every right to be angry and I know I would speak for everyone here when I say we are here for you whenever you need our support.
Comforting hugs for you Saba xxx

    5. Hi Karen,
I was so saddened to read your post, I cannot the imagine the pain you must have been through and still feel, so you are more than qualified to get on that soap box, my heart used to melt for the children that were looking out into the audience to find their mum or dad and you could see their face drop when they didn't see them,
we always made it somehow to our childrens performances, I wouldn't have been anywhere else. Your children are a gift and should be treated that way, well most of the time, as they are your most precious possession.
Karen thank you for sharing with us tonight, we are all here to listen and support you with love and laughter whenever you need us!
      love and huge hugs,

  28. Hello Saba and Myra, or Myra and Saba,
I never had a doubt for a second that the pair of you would get on as you are both full of laughter, fun and caring. It's amazing how we have all bonded over this blog and care about each other.
But we haven't seen Barbiepinkfairy for a while and I wonder if she's all right,
and where is Littlelamb and Theresa?
Oh, Oh, he who must be avoided is coming up the stairs so I'll have to go shortly, I'll clear the benches and make sure Maria is not asleep in the dishwasher, who's left a half eaten hot cross bun, oh there's a note to say that it's my tip for clearing up!!! The key is in the usual place.
I hope Sandra had a fab day with Pat, and I'm so pleased that Myra and Saba had a wonderful day which we all knew they would.
Love and hugs to all, night, night.

    3. Hi Maureen,
I too knew that Saba & Myra would get on, I said in a post earlier that we have all broken down the first barriers between each other on here, so that makes it easier for that first meeting, I am so looking forward to October when we can all spend quality time getting to know each other better, I just wished we all lived closer together.
Pat and I had a great day as always thank you, Littlelamb was is yesterday, she has got the all clear to drive to now so there is no stopping her now thankfully!
Theresa I am worried about, I really hope she isn't in too much pain, bless her, hopefully she will be back among us soon.
Tandy too has been missing for ages, I hope that she is ok too.
I am guessing that Barbie is just busy, I hope all is well with her too.
      OOh just come back everyone.....please!
      love and hugs

  31. Sorry to be so late tonight. First chance I have had yo get I here. Very busy day. Sandra your card is wonderful. Love the colours and everything about it. Thank you you for your good wishes with my driving. Took a friend to a garden centre which is about 20 miles away. She had to get flowers for the church for Easter. It was heaving with people and children, although ours don't break up until tomorrow. One girl was on roller skates weaving in and out of the clothes that were very close together. Unbelievable. Left my son's this morning after washing up and tidying then went to the Garden Centre then back to son's as granddaughter wanted to see me then at last home. Haven't been here for 9 weeks so seems strange. Glad you had a good time Saba and Myra. Hope you are feeling better Sam. Well seems like everyone has gone and I am talking yo myself. It gets like gat when you are on your own:-). Better go. Be back tomorrow.

    1. i'm listening Brenda,
I am so pleased that your first drive went ok, I am not sure why parents think its ok to let their children run riot all over the place, there is a time and a place for them to be whizzing round on roller skates and its not in a garden centre! Accident waiting to happen if you ask me!
I expect it must feel really strange going back home after 9 weeks, I guess it will feel quiet and lonely, so make sure you don't get down, stay with us on here when you can my lovely, I hope little Scarlett wasn't too sad to see you going home, especially now its the holidays.
I am looking forward to meeting you at Ally Pally in 9 days time!
      Sending you love and Hugs

I have seen some people around, on the dark side, no only across the road I think they taken to read just and not come in again wish is a shame, they don't know what they missing out on. Maybe they crawling in one day but do we still accept them ? of course we do, because that's who we are!

    1. Hi Maria,
You would be amazed at how many blog views we have compared to posts, some days the views have been in the 400's how crazy is that!
I do wish people would take the plunge and come in to join us, everyone that has has stayed and enjoyed it I think, apart from a couple, however hard you try not to let it bother you it does when you see them posting else where, you kind of think what happened, what did I do or say!
Anyway the important ones have stayed and made this the best blog In the world to be part of!
      I literally love you all,
I felt so full of pride and happiness when I thought about Saba and Myra meeting up, all because of the blog!
I get to meet you too in 9 days my lovely!

  34. Evening, I know I am just popping into an empty cafe, but I will just tiptoe around. I just had to let you know Sandra, that your card is beautiful. I have one of Sue's cards, yes, I know I am lucky, it was one she made on C&C, and it is similar in style and colour to yours. I have looked carefully, and I have to say....I think yours is better!!!!
Sorry I haven't been visiting the last couple of days, this is the downside of the hospitality trade, I am busy when others are on holiday.
Will visit as often as I can, don't want to miss out on the gossip
    Hugs

  35. At least the dishwasher should be somewhere warm.
Yes Sandra, I am working right through the easter holidays. I run a hotel/hostel in Fort William, families on holiday, walkers and climbers, lots raising money for charities by climbing mountains etc, nutcases who throw themselves off mountains on bikes etc. Open seasonally, so craft time in winter, long hours from now till October. Really time to retire but still planning the exit route.
So if anyone is on holiday or passing through Fort William (or visiting family), let me know please.
