Good Friday Morning Ladies,
Here we are at the end of another week, I can hardly believe next weekend we will be at the end of November!! Once we hit 1st December its Christmas before you know it!! Are you all organised? What have you all got planned this year? Ours will be a quiet day, just the girls here for Christmas Dinner, Becca & Adam are both working all day Christmas & Boxing day as they are fully booked at the hotels, Adam is a sweetheart and prefers to let his team that have children the day off , so he will be busy in the kitchen. Becca is hosting, which she loves, she did say that she was hoping to pop home for an hour to have Mum's Christmas dinner, to be honest its mostly Dad's Christmas dinner, we always have enough for about 10 people so a couple of extra dinners is no problem, although I'm sure Adam's Christmas lunch would be much nicer. Matt is working Christmas day until early afternoon, he enjoys cooking his own dinner and Alex only gets Christmas day off so they like to spend it together, which I am totally ok with, I remember feeling incredibly guilty not going to our parents because Paul used to be away a lot we wanted to spend Christmas on our own, so I make sure that my lot know that there is no obligation and they certainly don't have to feel guilty. So far I have bought 1 gift, thats it, no idea what anybody wants, the older they get the harder it is. The girls do a Categories thing for their gifts, so they buy an outfit for each other, something funny, something custom made (personalised), something to eat, they have added in a Temu category too. They know each other that well that they always love what they buy each other.
Our Next Challenge
I asked on our Chat group if anyone would like to suggest a challenge for the next couple of weeks, Karen kindly suggested Christmas 🎄, which is a great challenge for those last minute cards, although it doesn't have to be cards, Lilian and I have made some Christmas tags, you could also make a Christmas journal that you could use for Christmas preparations or purely as a memory album or an Christmas Art journal documenting different techniques that you have tried for cards etc, you can show the technique and all the details of what you used and how you made it. So Thank you Karen for a great suggestion. XXX
If any of you have any kind of theme you'd like for future challenges please let me know.
Have a lovely Friday,
Love and warm hugs,
Sandra XXX
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteVery quiet in the café today, where are you all ? Anyhow, I'm glad you and Karen suggested Christmas for the next few weeks because I am so behind this year . It won't be as many to make, not going to send so many abroad any more because last year it was many who wasn't bothered to send to us so it's sad but a message on line will never be the same as a card.
We had a little outing today, just half-hour down the road to Toaster, think it's spelt like that 🤭 Had a walk around first, only 3 c and bitterly cold but nice at the same time in the sunshine and blue sky.
Back home I finished off some cards and now before doing the dinner I'm going to do some crystal art.
I hope you are all alright and have had a good day. Many warm hugs to you all, Maria 🤗 x
Towster it was 🤭😄
DeleteHi Sandra and all looking in. I love all of your gorgeous cards and tags. Christmas will soon be here won’t it. We are exactly like you with not expecting the children to be with you for Christmas Day. It was easy for us although Mum and Pop were the same with us about it. And Chris’s Mum just asked for everyone to be at hers for some or all of Boxing Day afternoon and evening. After she remarried there were 24 grand and step grand children and 18 children and husbands and wives! Any other family members or their families were also welcome. She absolutely loved having their small two bed bungalow stuffed to bursting with her family and we all have wonderful memories of being there together 🥰
ReplyDeleteWe had a lovely afternoon / evening at Blenheim Palace light trail with Gem and Gary yesterday. It was cold but very still, the lake was as still as a mill pond so it looked fantastic. As Chris and I said no matter how clever we are Mother Nature always beats us as some of the lights were wonderful but that lake beat them all hands down. We had a very tasty Chinese take away when we got home them we were all in bed by 9 pm as were were all shattered. Gem said she loved every minute so that’s all we wanted🥰
I am in bed today even though I was in a chair for most of the time. Have a good evening. Take care. Love Sue xx
Hello Sandra and everyone,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful selection of Christmas cards on display today, I love all of them.
Have been doing online Christmas shopping today, I can’t get to the shops as I used to do, I don’t know what I would do without online shopping. My friend gives her family money and they buy their own presents. I prefer to give mine a wrapped gift. We always put all the presents under the tree at Christmas and sit down together on Christmas Day and usually one of the grandchildren passes the gifts around.
Hope you have had a good day.
Take care and sleep well, love Brenda xxx
Evening everyone, so cold , a bit of sun, but soon its was raining again.
ReplyDeleteLove all the Christmas cards, like Maria we are not sending so many cards this year, just our close friends and neighbours. Must admit I love to send my hand made cards out.
We should have Jackie and Jon here for Christmas, I always told them to do what they wanted. They had one year on their own, but didn’t enjoy it ,both are family people. We used to always go to them, but I’m not able to go now. Not sure what Son is doing yet.
Not bought any presents , usually wait until after Oscars birthday, although he wants apple vouchers this year, shows he is growing up.
Have a good night, Lilian
