Alcohol Ink Christmas

Good Thursday Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all well and keeping warm in this chilly weather, it was bitterly cold here yesterday, Lucy and I went out for Brunch in Witney yesterday, my goodness were we cold when we got out of the car, I really need to buy a hat, I felt like my ears were going to fall off they were that cold.

I had a fun messy craft session on Tuesday afternoon,  I got my Alcohol inks out as I wanted to have a go at creating a Christmas coloured background, it's something I'd never tried, I was inspired by a post I saw where someone used alcohol pens on vellum to create a background for Christmas cards,   I like the idea and had a go but I think her colours must have been enhanced somehow as I had same colours as hers but the results didn't look great, the colours weren't strong enough, so I thought I would try alcohol inks on Yupo paper, I picked the obvious Christmas colours and had a play, I added drops of the red and green alcohol ink onto the Yupo paper and used my 'puffer' to move the ink around.  I love how it makes those intricate little lines.

This is the tool I used,  you can also blow through a straw to get same effect.

Here is a close up of the inky background, I added the inked piece to a square of embossed card znd then onto a square card base, I added some die cut snowflakes and a stamped sentiment and added some sparkles to the centre of snowflakes for an extra festive touch.

I know it isn't traditional but I actually love it !!

I hope that you all have a good day,

Love & hugs to all of you,

Sandra xxx
