A lovely Poinsettia Christmas card

Good Wednesday Morning Ladies,

We had a lovely day yesterday,  it was so bright and sunny that Lucy suggested a walk around Bourton on the Water and lunch out,  it was quite busy with it being such a lovely day,  Lucy found a lovely place called The Den that did lovely Bagels & Baguettes,  so we picked up a baguette and a drink and went and sat by the river in the sunshine and did some serious people watching!

We then headed back home to start working on Becca's wedding invitations,  🙄, what a palaver, we sat and made a mini press put of two spare cuttings plates, Lucy then made a raised bar with Masking tape to butt the card up to so that it's in the same place each time,  I sat and fussy cut a piece of thick plastic to put over the raised letters for inking up so that ink doesn't get all over plate and transfer to paper.

This is raised bar to butt up card to for exact positioning

The two pieces, closed ready to go through die cutting machine

Lucy made a sturdy hinge to connect the two Big Shot plates, the press plate is adhered to one side.

We did a couple of runs through,  frustratingly the Gold ink I bought, which was recommended,  as you need a particular kind of ink is an awful colour, it has some metallic shine but its an awful yellow shade, that just doesn't work with the Cream card.  So I have ordered another from Jacksons Art, fingers crossed this one is ok, as its really expensive!

Today I am excited to be sharing Sonia's gorgeous Poinsettia card,  after a little break from crafting Sonia's 'craft inspiration ' returned from its vacation, helped along buy some lovely new craft goodies.  Boy has your mojo returned in style my lovely !! 😍

Sonia's Description:

I’ve used the poinsettia and holly die from Tim Holtz ‘Vault Seasonal Sketch’

‘Merry Christmas’ from Spellbinders Christmas Mix and Match Sentiments.

I’ve also used a Sue Wilson snowflake border die, and Gems from my stash 🙂

Sonia you really do have a magic touch when it comes to Kraft card,  every Kraft card you have made has been exquisite,  this one is no exception, I love your composition and such a brilliant idea to use the Snowflake Border from SW. Your sentiment works perfectly too.

Thank you so much for sharing your amazing card with us my lovely XXX

I hope that you all have a great day,

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra xxx

  2. Hi everyone
Lovely to see you back to crafting Sonia. Like Sandra say, you are the queen making cards with the craft cards. Hope all is well ?
If you are going out today, make sure to wrap up warm because the wind is absolutelly freezing. We went out this morning for a small shop and a coffe' in Nero. Going upstairs now to see if I can get a card together. My mind is all muddled with ideas and it's not good because I can't get anything done, just ending up scrolling through Pinterest 🙄😊
Hoping that you all have a nice day. Many hugs to you all, Maria xx

  3. Hi everyone
I’m sorry I’ve been away for a while! Work, illness and family issues have kept me busy. After a few months of having no enthusiasm to craft, I thought it was about time I got back into it. I’m taking it slowly ☺️ Thank you for sharing my card ❤️
I hope you have all been keeping well, and safe - with the very changeable weather and storms.
I’m glad you and Lucy had a lovely day yesterday, the better weather being a bonus. I loved my little walk around Bourton on the Water on my way home after visiting you the last time. I can imagine it looks absolutely magical at Christmas time with all the shops decorated 😊
Fingers crossed and good luck with the wedding invitations, I’m sure they will be beautiful once they’re finished.
Have a good rest of the day everyone
Sending hugs to you all xx

  4. Hi Sandra and everyone looming in.
A lovely card from Sonia. It’s good to hear you feel up to crafting again. I have these dies but haven’t used them yet I love the vintage feel they have and you have used the traditional colours that never date do they.
Sandra, good that you and Lucy had a lovely lunch out in the fresh air in such a pretty setting. At least it’s not quite so busy at this time of year. It never goes really quiet though. We found this out when we had a chat with one of the shop keepers when we were there with Gail a few weeks ago. I hope we can craft together this week 🤞🏼 xx
I’ve had a boring day mostly sat in traffic!
Sleep well everyone. Take care xx

  5. Hello everyone, another chilly day.

Sonia love your card, nice to see you back with us, hope all are well.
Have made a card for this week, not the greatest, but doing a tag again tomorrow, I’m much better at doing them, although they still take me ages.
Good luck with the wedding invites Sandra, I remember when I did my daughter’s it took quite awhile, so many different things to complete, not just invites , still they turned out quite nice.
Not much else going on, so I’ll say goodnight, Lilian
