My Sketch Challenge card

Good Morning Ladies,

I think we can now hopefully breathe a bit of a sigh of relief now that they have put us into lockdown,  it should have been done weeks ago though.

Yesterday was a day of mixed emotions,  I spent a good portion of the day on the phone,  I spoke to a SEN teaching assistant, who was stressing about having to go into school to teach a class while the teacher stayed at home,  the lessons were planned, the teachers are being advised to stay at home,  somebody has to be there for the children though, it just felt like the teaching assistants lives were a little bit more expendable.  I also spoke to a mum who didn't know what to do for best, I ended the day talking to someone very close to me who was just so distressed after a day of creating new beds for Covid-19 patients, they are at the point of needing to use theatres as wards for covid patients.  She was so upset because there was some critical patients were so young.

My heart goes out to any NHS workers, Teachers and parents of school age children who don't know what to do for the best, this situation is so awful.

Today's card is my first card of 2021, I wanted it to bright and cheerful.  The papers I used are the SU Ornate Garden papers, I love the colours and floral designs. I created a fold back card where you score down the centre of the card front and fold it back, I added a strip of the dsp down the front of the card,  I then stamped the sentiment in Mint Macaron ink and die cut using the SU Ornate Layers dies, I then die cut a Stitched Rectangle in Mint Macaron and added as a base to the ornate layer. I created a border out of die cuts and added a piece of Mint Macaron ribbon to the centre. I placed that down the front panel and placed my sentiment panel at an angle across the card. To finish the card I fussy cut some flowers and added them to the top corner of the card.  I hope you like my version of the sketch.

Hoping for a quiet day today, I hope you have a good day ladies,

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra

  1. Morning Everyone
Today's card is just beautiful SANDRA. So colourful and cheerful.

So we're all lockdown.I too think it should have been done sooner but having said that I wouldn't want to be the people having to make such decisions.

My Granddaughter and her Partner are having their injections this Thursday. Pippy works on the Corvid wards and Chris is a porter. It will take a little pressure off us knowing that they will have some protection other than the PPI. She has been in the thick of it since day one. I'm not sure if her three little ones will go into school.

I need to make a start on my CC though my enthusiasm seems to have taken a holiday at the moment. I'll see what happens today.

The CAFE is OPEN as usual so pop in for a cuppa and a quiet place.HUGS ARE ON THEIR WAY TO YOU ALL. PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE. MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH ALL WHO HAVE TO GO OUT INTO THE HORRIBLE WORLD.xxxx

  4. Hi Sandra and ladies
Two lovely bright and cheerful cards today. Just what was needed. My window cleaner has just been so at least my windows are clean. He’ll do my living room window and the two in the kitchen when he’s able to come inside. I wasn’t to sure whether he’d do them for me. I can’t reach the two in the kitchen, as 1 is over the sink and the other one is above the kitchen worktop.
Stay safe and take care everyone.

  5. Hi everyone
A beautiful card today Sandra. Love the bright colours.
Glad to be in lockdown again, fingers crossed that this time people will listen and stay in. I too feel we should’ve been put in lockdown again before now, but agree with you Janet that I’d hate to be the ones having to make these difficult decisions.
Hoping to do some crafting today, it’s my Dads birthday on Monday so will use this weeks challenge to make his card.
I hope you all have a lovely day whatever you’re doing. Sending hugs to you all xxx

  6. Hello All, another lovely day, very cold.

Lovely card Sandra, nice to see a cheerful card.

I’m off to hospital this morning, I checked it was going on, and was yes and it was essential that I keep this appointment, nearly asked why the 5 previous ones weren’t essential, but thought I’d better not.

Have a good day all, might try and do some crafting when I come home, Lilian

  7. Hello Sandra and ladies,

Beautiful card Sandra so bright and cheerful, it made me think of spring. Definitely one to brighten up your day.

I’m relieved we are in lockdown, I hope and pray that everyone gets the message this time, but inside I have a nagging voice saying they will still think it doesn’t apply to them........I hope I’m wrong.

Take care everyone and stay safe, Love Brenda xxx
