Your Texture Background Projects

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

As I am writing this I am not sure what we are doing today, Paul is waiting to hear from his Mum how his Dad is doing, since his Mum and Sister have taken over feeding him etc he has really improved, Paul said if he is still improving we will leave visiting until next weekend,  partly because both his brother and sister are visiting today so he will be mentally exhausted if we go too.  If he continues to improve we may take the girls too but I'm not sure about that yet, I will see how they feel.

If we stay home I will be in my craft room, Paul is keen to get the vegetable patch ready for the growing season, so he will be in the garden weather permitting of course, yesterday was really cold but we had spells of glorious warm sunshine mixed with the odd shower and brisk wind.

You are all here to see the amazing craft projects for this weeks challenge so let's goooo........

Karen

Karen's Description:

Here’s 3 pages for textures
1) is dry embossing with a stencil on shaving foam technique [this Go Power and Emboss is a beast!]
2) smooshing a couple of DO and through a stencil Plus texture paste
3) is torn masking tape Then inked with 3 green DO Added Versamark and clear embossing on top The flower heads have all been coloured with different pens pencils etc I will add to the white pages what I did for future reference etc

Karen all three pages are amazing, you have really inspired me, I am going to but some shaving foam and have a play.   Texture paste is something I was always reluctant to try aa I have had mixed results in the past, but recently I have rediscovered it and seeing your incredible designs my fingers are itching to play.  Thank you so very much for taking part and inspiring us XXX

Lilian

Lilian has designed this beautiful plaque for this weeks textured background challenge.  I absolutely love this Lilian,  to me it looks very Oriental looking, you have achieved so much texture, from the  background butterflies to the incredible texture on those frames.  The other feature I love is the the little sticks that support those magnificent butterflies.  To me this piece shows perfectly your talent as an artist.  Thank you for such a beautiful piece XXX

Janet

Janet has shared this amazing piece of artwork, it has so much incredible detai from the beautiful lady that Janet has used embossing paste to create, the metallic gold embossing around the image and finally those pretty flowers and butterfly.  This would be amazing placed in one of those deep frames any displayed on a wall.    Janet thank you so much for sharing this piece with us, it may be an older piece but fits perfectly with what we are all doing today.  XXX

Sonia

Sonia's Description:

Card 1

I’ve not quite finished this one as it’s not all been stuck down (I was running out of time)
I die cut a Spellbinders background die in Kraft card and stuck it to a Kraft base. I then heat embossed with Stampendous Frantage ‘shabby white embossing enamel’. I die cut a spellbinders die in gold mirror card and one of Chloe’s Creative Christmas roses. The sentiment is also from the Christmas rose set.

Card 2
Using one of my alcohol ink backgrounds I dry embossed it with a Tim Holtz folder. It cracked slightly after embossing, so I added gold gilding wax on the raised parts - unfortunately doesn’t show up very well on the photo. I used the Stamp Market die cut flower. I decided not to add a sentiment.

WOW Sonia the textures you've achieved on both of these cards is just amazing!! Your first card is stunning, you have given it a Christmas sentiment but it would honestly work for so many occasions,  Special Birthday or Anniversary,  that flower die is called Christmas Rose but could literally be used year round.   I love the gorgeous colour of your second card and I think that the cracks look like it was part of the design, Thank you so very much for inspiring us all XXX

Sue

Sue has made herself some embossing paste and used it to make these lovely backgrounds with it.

Here are photos for the challenge using my homemade texture paste  pieces of card that I didn’t manage to use yet. I was hoping to use the large floral one as my art journal front cover but messed it up so will do another one and use this one for testing other techniques. The slim floral one may become a bookmark or a tag. Haven’t decided what I am going to decorate them with yet but will let you know when I have.

Love your textured background pieces Sue, can't wait to see what you create with them. Thanks so much supporting the challenge my lovely XXX

Ladies thank you so much for your Inspirational artwork, I love what you have all created, my cards look boring compared to your piece.  I have missed my art journaling this week!!

I hope that you all have a lovely Sunday,

Sending love and hugs to all of you,

  2. Morning Everyone
Beautiful selection of Backgrounds this week. I find so much energy in each and everyone.

Well staying home yesterday morning worked and YES the Surveyor rang around 10.00. He is coming tomorrow morning between 09.00 and 13.00hrs. Fingers crossed.
The weather here from just aftrer lunch was horrendous. Gale force wind and torrential rain and it was still happening when we went to bed at 23.00hrs. So you can guess how much sleep I had.

The CAFE is OPEN so everyone can see all of this week's Challenge.
HUGS ARE ON THEIR WAY TO YOU ALL WITH LOADS OF EXTRAS FOR ALL DEAR FRIENDS NOT FEELING TOO GOOD. PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxx

  4. Hi Everyone
Lovely mixed medium background ladies. So many different things you can use and it's nice to see that the homemade paste worked a treat Sue.
I'm sorry but I could not make any crafting again this week. Might put it on hold at times and do something else for a while but love seeing what you all made will hopefully make me join in this week.
Lilian, hope R had a nice Birthday and you enjoyed the Chinese last night.
Hugs to you all and extras for anyone who need some. Maria xxx

  5. Hello All, very wet and windy here today.

Love all of the textured background, I am thinking like Karen to try and stamp on fabric, I think you paint it with watered down glue to “ size” the cloth. Might have a go for this week.

Hope you had a nice weekend and are ready for a new week. I have a Drs appointment in the morning, then hope to do some crafting. Hug to all Lilian
