Wishing You all a Lovely Mother's Day

Good Sunday Morning Ladies,

I would like to wish all of you a Very Happy Mother's day, it is a tough one for me this year, I barely seems real, I miss my Mum so much.
I would like to thank each and every one of you ladies though, you have made this past few months a lot easier, you are all there when I need some advice or just reassurance, I am so blessed to have such an amazing group of very Dear Friends, I hope that you all have as lovely a day as possible, fingers crossed this will be the last one we spend without our Family around us, sending you all extra hugs today XXX

Now it's Sunday and that means it's ......SHOWTIME.........

Your Background Challenge Cards

Brenda

Oh Wow Brenda that background is beautiful and that gorgeous ribbon really enhances the blue tones, such a rich and opulent design.

Brenda's Description:

"My background was created using pixie powders and then sprayed with water.  the diecut is a Tonic die and the flowers were created from a set of small flower dies by John next Door. Finished off with some picot edged blue ribbon and a happy birthday sentiment"

Thank you so very much for taking and inspiring me to try an new colour blend XXX

Janet

Janet has created two beautiful Journal pages for our Background Challenge this week, I love the combination of Mirror card and that beautiful floral paper, that is going to be one very special Journal, I am really looking forward to seeing it finished.

Janet's Description:

''Here are my CCs for this week.

Instead of two cards and I used the last two pages of one of my journals.

The backing papers are from a 'PRIMA MARKETING' pack called 'MIDNIGHT GARDEN'

I have used 'CRAFTER'S COMPANION' Efolders 'BUTTERFLY TRELLIS and COUNTRY GARDEN'

The flowers and butterfly etc are all from my stash.''

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful Journal pages with us Janet and for taking part in the weeks challenge XXX

Karen

Three lovely cards from Karen for our Background Challenge this week, all completely different, there is something for everyone in this selection Karen.

Karen's Description:

"Here are 3 cc Paper cuts die layered on black on a PP’d background Serif background with a cheap Amazon wine bottle die Ranger texture pasted coloured with black paint scraped through a stencil that looks like tyre tracks and whit SW die shadowed with black glossy card for daughter’s future father in law who owns a couple of big/fast motorbikes"

Thank you so much Karen for taking time to make 3 amazing challenge cards, the tyre print/embossing paste is just brilliant, so effective! XXX

Lilian

Oh Lilian your card is so pretty, I absolutely love those yellow poppies dancing on that beautifully blended background, then you have created a perfectly matched background using your DO's through a mask, the little dots give so much texture to the card too.

Lilian's Description:

"This my card for this week,

Stencilled background using a Lavinia stencil

Colours were all distress oxides: old paper, squeezed lemonade, speckled egg.

Thought it was too dark so added a piece of vellum to soften.

Stamps are: painted poppies by stamping up.

Coloured with my pens.

 Background same colours as stencil.

Lime perfect pearls.''

Thank you so much Lilian for a beautiful. inspiring challenge card XXX

Maria

Oh Maria you have had a very busy week at your craft desk,  You have also made a start on your Christmas cards!! You must be one of the first, I love that glitter striped background and that stag looks so majestic.
You have used some beautiful Spring colours blended through a mask for your second card, the using the same colours for your sentiment piece, such a lovely Spring card Maria.
I love that stamp with the butterflies fluttering around the flowers, a bit like those white butterflies around my cabbages!!! I really like that embossing folder too, such a pretty design.

Maria's Description:

Now then to the 3 background challange I got together in

the end, I had fun making them and I hope you like them.

1/ Dry embossed background coloured with Distress inks

I then used a Stencil to make the flowers and there

are some butterflies too in black.

2/ Here I used Distress again through another Stencil in

Peacock feathers, Mustard seed and Cracked pistachio.

3/ On this one, yes you right, another Stencil :) here I

used Glitter paste and I thought Christmas. Picture is

recycled and some bits from my stash finished it off.

Thank you so much Maria for 3 amazing Background Challenge cards XXX

Michele

Michele has designed 4 amazing cards for our Challenge this week, all completely different backgrounds too.  The first card uses the new Lattice Background die that I shared yesterday, it looks so effective just white on white. The second two cards use the 'Eclipse Technique', that paper is so pretty. Michele's third cars is the cutest Easter card. I love those little bunnies peeking through the little windows!

Michele's Description:

"4 challenge cards from me. First two are just patterned card using the Eclipse technique. Third card is using the plaid die which was quite difficult to get to cut through anything but very thin card, the thanks sentiment has been diecut 3 times & stacked tog. Last card is using the watercolour background I created & an Easter bunny die I got from eBay years ago and haven’t used. I finally used the slimline dies I ordered a while ago on this card too."

Thank you so much Michele for 4 amazing challenge cards, your designs are just fantastic XXX

Sonia

Oh WOW Sonia I love the colour theme of both of your cards, that die cut background is stunning, putting it over that colour combo just lifts it to another level, WOW !!
Your second card has is more subtle with the Watercolour Wash background, those die cuts work perfectly for the base for your Butterfly and sentiment'!

Sonia's Desciption:

On both cards I’ve used Distress Oxides to create my watercolour backgrounds. The background die is from Crafters Companion. I stamped one of the Woodware text stamps on the second card and framed it with the Sizzix frame. The butterflies are from Tim Holtz.

Thank you so much for two very Inspirational cards my lovely XXX

  1. Morning Ladies

What a fantastic selection of challenge cards today. So many lovely ideas & backgrounds. Once I got started with my background ms, I really enjoyed this challenge.

Yesterday ended up just very windy during the day-I managed to get some washing dry outside. Might manage to get the sheets dry this morning too.

  4. Hi Sandra & ladies
    Happy Mother’s Day ladies
A stunning array of cards today ladies. It’s a good job we don’t have to choose a favourite isn’t it.
It’s still windy & cold today. So I’ll be doing something but I’m not to sure what yet. I’ve started one of Maria’s projects from last month. My embossing dots never seem to match up. Although it’s stuck down it still somehow seems to move,
Take care and stay safe everyone.
