Good Morning Ladies,
Well yesterday was all about 🌞 Sunshine! We had an absolutely gloriously sunny day here, although it was very chilly.
So that lovely sunshine inspired me to make a bright and sunny card that would bring a smile to whoever opened it. I had a rummage around my different colouring mediums and after about an hour of deliberating I decided to go with Brusho's.
I took a piece of Watercolour card cut to 4 x 5 1/4 and stamped two flowers from an old Stampin Up! stamp set called 'Remarkable You' in Versamark ink and added white embossing powder and heat set. I chose Brilliant Red & Gamboge (orange) Brusho's and sprinkled the dry powder onto my watercolour card front. I then used a spray bottle with a really fine mist to add a few sprays of water, enough to start to melt the granules of pigment, it was like magic watching the colours burst out across the paper, some areas stayed really dark, others were more washed out by the water, it was pure luck that had the centres of the flowers filled with the darkest colours. I absolutely love how this one turned out, I didn't want to blast it with my heat tool, so I gingerly carried to the Aga and placed it on the top, where it dried in a few minutes.
Now I really faffed about trying to decide on a sentiment, while rummaging through my sentiment dies the 'Sunshine' jumped out at me, it worked with the colours in the card and matched the glorious weather outside, so 'Sunshine' it was, I die cut it 3 times in white and layered them together and then cut a Cherry Cobbler layer to add a drop shadow. I then had to decide on what to add underneath, Sunshine is on it's way, is a true enough statement, it might just cheer someone up too!
To finish the card I mounted the card front onto Cherry Cobbler card as it really worked with the deepest red tones in the Brusho's, I popped it onto a white card base and then added the sentiment. I t really didn't need anything else. I think that this is one of the first 'messy backgrounds' that I loved straight away!
I hope you like it too, hey it's fun this crafting lark !!!😉😂
Let's hope that the sunshine lasts a little longer, well we can always stay in and craft if not!
Sending warm hugs and love to all of you,
Sandra xxxxxx
Morning Ladies
ReplyDeleteSandra-wOW. What a stunning card-I love the colours.
No sunshine here & the forecast later in the week is heavy rain & very strong winds. I’m off work Thursday & Friday so once I’ve done the food shopping I plan to stay in my craft room!

The CAFE is OPEN so pop in for a cuppa and a chat.
HUGS are winging their way to you all.PLEASE TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE.xxxx
I love your card It is so cheerful and what a perfect sentiment for these times I only have Pixie Powders in powder form but I am going to try it out You could do so many variations with just this one stamp
ReplyDeleteI finished a cc yesterday
A lady I used to work with has asked for a small stash of cards to have in the office which is great as I have accumulated a few over the past few challenges
It is brilliant sunshine here but mighty cold Take care all xx
HAPPY TUESDAY everyone,
ReplyDeleteStunning card Sandra, love the colours, it would make such a difference to a recipient instead of the normal 'Get Well card'.
I've taken a bit of a break from the train project to make Giorgina's birthday and Mum's Mother's day cards today. I've purchased some new dies to play with today to see if I can create the Wow! factor. Cross fingers I don't make too many mistakes.
When I woke this morning I remember that this time last year I was back and forwards with staying with Mum and visiting Dad in BRI hospital and then to the Care Centre before he died on the 1st April. His birthday is on the 13th and it will be the first time I haven't made him a card. This last year with the lockdown then my visit to Manor Park Walsall hospital has flown so quick it's mind staggering.
As I child I would sometimes wish the time to fly for special occasions, like birthday, Easter eggs, siblings birthdays and Christmas, now I wish it would slow down for me to gather my thoughts some days.
Oh well, let's plod on.
Love 7 hugs

It’s been a beautiful bright day here, I even ventured out in the garden for awhile and in the sunshine it wasn’t that cold at all.........I won’t say it too loudly but hopefully spring is on the way!

Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe tonight. A beautiful card. I love the effect of the Brusho’s as the background. You couldn’t have planned the pattern any better could you, the flower centres are great xx
ReplyDeleteMaria, I hope you get a better night tonight xx
Brenda, Mum sends her love and always asks how you all as her tremors make it just about impossible for her to use her phone or laptop now. We have a nice time looking at all of the wonderful cards you have all made each time I go to see them. I’m with you about not saying too much about....shhh Spring being here. It is so good just to stand or sit in the sun for a while isn’t it xx
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Mum and all in need. Take care xx
