My new Favourite Pens..

Good Morning Ladies,

A glorious day here yesterday, the sun shone brightly all day, it was very chilly though.  It is so lovely to be able to sit and watch all of the birds in our garden right now, we even had a Woodpecker, he was pecking about on the lawn, I'm not sure what he was after, he wasn't interested in anything from the bird feeder and we have quite a buffet on there, from mixed seeds and grains to fruit and seed fat blocks and the all time favourite ...Mealworms!  Our Bird feeder is metal, quite sturdy in construction but Paul and I were both looking at it this morning try to see if it was bent slightly or whether we were just seeing things, a few minutes later a huge crow landed on the water trough and had an odd technique that involved hitting the cage with the fruit/fat block with its beak to get it to swing and he then just sat pecking at it every time it swung towards him, he flew off and it was then the turn of a great fat pigeon, so that kind of answered our question about it being slightly bent, we may need to reinforce it!  The blue tits, robins and starlings just sit waiting patiently for the larger birds to finish.  It is so relaxing just sitting and watching them and I look forward to being able to sit out and watch them.
Do you all have a good selection of Birds visiting your garden?

Now onto to today's card, I have to praise the amazing service of CraftStash as I ordered my new Indigo Blu (issue 3) Magazine on Saturday and it arrived this morning, I got a notification about half an hour after I ordered to say it had been dispatched, I was amazed with the Postman knocked the door to hand it to me this morning.
It is a lovely magazine and the stamps are gorgeous, the image above is just one stamp, its 6 x 3 inches and stamps beautifully.  The image on my card above was the very first time that I had stamped it, I used Versafine Clair, I then took my new Favourite colouring pens 'Zig Clean Colour Real Brush pens', I bought the set of 24, they are beautiful, they have such a fine brush nib on them, you can colour direct to paper like I have above, they blend into each other perfectly, I will definitely be looking into getting so more of the pens, I guess somewhere will sell them individually.
I stamped my image and coloured it with the Zig pens, I then edged the piece with Mustard seed Distress ink and added it to a black mat, I made a matching background by using another piece of watercolour card, I blended some more Mustard Seed distress ink over it and then stamped over using another stamp from the free set included in the magazine, I finished the background by adding some second and third generation stamped flowers. I popped the backing paper onto a black matt also and then onto a base card, I finished the card by stamping one of the sentiments (dividing it into two separate sentiments) and inked around the  black ink, I then die cut it with the Julie Hickey banner die.  The last thing I did was add 3 tiny diamantes.
I hope you like my bright and cheerful card.

Have a lovely day my lovelies,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

Sandra-fantastic card, love the colouring. Great news that your order arrived yesterday from Craftstash-mine did too. Pity all companies aren’t that efficient.

We have a large selection of birds visiting the garden plus Red Squirrels. Hopefully anytime soon the hedgehogs will wake up from hibernation and start calling every evening.

  3. Your card is amazing I really don’t know what to buy to add to my small collection of Inktense pencils Do I buy more pencils or do I buy some pens I just want an effective set of more colours to just do a little bit of colouring I can’t see me becoming an artist per say
We don’t seem to get many birds visit our garden at the moment apart from two very fat pigeons! But flying around near us are red kites
I started playing with my new Clarity stamps and really enjoying myself and then a dirty black smudge appeared A bit deflating but at least I have a sample of the techniques I used Will try and replicate it later
Have a lovely day ladies Big hugs as usual to everyone xx

  4. Hi everyone
Beautiful card. Love the image and sentiment and your colouring is fabulous.
We have quite a variety of birds in our garden too - robins, tits, the odd woodpecker, magpies and pigeons, along with squirrels. We also see lots of red kites overhead. Can’t wait for the warmer weather and to be able to sit outside again.
Had a play yesterday with my new Lindy’s sprays, creating some backgrounds. I even made a start on creating a small canvas, so hope to carry on with that today.
Have a lovely day everyone. Sending hugs to you all xxx

  5. Hello Sandra and ladies,

What a beautiful card Sandra, What a treasure the stamp will be to your collection. I love the colours you’ve chosen.

We have temporarily taken our birdfeeder down because we had so many pigeons they used to lineup on top of the roof hardly given the smaller birds chance to feed at all, not to mention the mess the pigeons left! Not very nice. Enjoy watching your birds you seem to have a lovely variety but then you do live in a much more rural area than we do.

Saying a big HELLO to Margaret and Lynda Hope you’re both okay XX

Enjoy your day ladies whatever you’re doing, take care and stay safe.
    Love and hugs Brenda XXX

  6. Hi Sandra and ladies.
Gorgeous card and lovely colouring in Sandra, this magazine has gone on my wishlist for now.
We have quite a few different birds in our garden that is lovely to see, Robin's,fat pigeons, black birds and sometimes the odd green pecker. I'm happy to see the squirrels running around,as long they stay out of our loft !, and a hedgehog was tripping Son going in to the house last night just laying there on the door mat. Sure you soon seen yours Michele.
Saw the nurse this morning for blood, well she tried in my arms first but had to get some from my hand in the end. She was not happy and only managed to get one and a half vile when she wanted three so have to go back another day.
Have a good day everyone, hugs Maria xx

  7. Hi Sandra & ladies
    A lovely bright card today.
We mostly have pigeons around here. We always had much move when the garden was being dug. Mind you as we have a cable going right across the patio. The birds sit on it so make a mess of the patio.
Take care and stay safe everyone.

  8. Hell all, sunny but cold still.

Sandra love that stamp, and the colours you have used look beautiful.

Today had video conference with my cardiologist, first question was how are you , I’m afraid I told him just how I’m feeling; said rotten, R said he was quite taken aback, I usually say not too bad. Any way they are going to remove my loop recorder as the battery has gone. I have to wear the monitor again, then he thinks a pacemaker might be the answer, not sure.

Hope you all had a good day, Lilian

  9. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. What a lovely card. That stamp has so much detail that you see something different each time you look at it. Love the colours you’ve used. Blooming pigeons will push out the smaller birds. Only option I know of is a bird table surrounded with wire that has a small hole that only the little birds can get in to reach the food in the middle. We don’t have many birds here sadly but we do have a very noisy blackbird family that live in the hedge at the front of the house. I love hearing them in the mornings 🥰
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Mum and all in need. Take care xx
