Good Monday Morning Ladies,
Here we are at the first 'fully back to normal ' week of the New Year, it's going to feel like a long one for me with everyone back to normal schedules, having said that the girls work (Wildlife park) closes during the week throughout January, for essential maintenance, I think it's also because its the quietest month of the year for visitors and its not so cost effective for them to fully staff and heat the restaurant & kiosks. The thing about it that frustrates me is that because the park is closed for the week days, the girls do have courses to go on during that period but to cover other days the girls have to use Annual Leave or take it unpaid. Now most people with monthly bills etc can't afford to take it unpaid. Who wants to take annual leave in January? Its cold and miserable and term time so most can't take advantage of time for family holidays. I am hoping that this is the year that the girls find jobs that they love.
Did any off you get snow, ours started at around 10pm and continued for a few hours, there was still a good couple inches yesterday morning when the girls left for work but by early afternoon the rain came and turned it to awful sludge, let's hope it doesn't freeze. It now looks like its not getting above 3 ° all week for us. 🥶
Today's card is a simple floral card using a pretty paper collection that I got in SU sale its called 'Delightfully Eclectic ' I layered a piece if the pretty paper onto a die cut, scalloped rectangle and then onto a bit of 'Bubble Bath ' pink card that I embossed, then into a white card base, I didn't have matching ribbon so I coloured a piece of seam binding ribbon with Bubble Bath ink and dried it. I added it to the front panel and tucked the sentiment tag behind it.
I hope you like it my lovelies,
Love and hugs to all of you,
Sandra xxx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteA very pretty card today, and lovely cards yesterday 😍
We had the snow Saturday night, but by the morning it had all gone as we had continuous rain! It didn’t make for a nice journey to and from Dorset yesterday after work! It’s still raining now 😕
Our decorations came down Saturday too. It does look bare, and I miss the tree lights and their reflections in the windows. Oh well, only 11 months until they go back up again 😉😂
That’s frustrating for the girls at the wildlife park, fingers crossed they’re both able to find a job more suitable and enjoyable.
I hope you all had a good weekend
Sending hugs to you all xxx
Hi Sandra and all looking in. What a pretty card today. I love to see how you add ribbon and a tag or sentiment.
ReplyDeleteI really must try and use some of my ridiculous amounts of ribbons more this year! I have finally got the tree packed away. It will be a quiet day tomorrow for me. I do miss seeing the tree lights sparkle.
It is wet here again today and chilly but not cold enough to freeze thankfully. Canadian relatives were saying yesterday when we had a lovely two hour Face Time with them that they had a had a lot of snow but they were talking about it in amounts of feet not inches like we do 🤭
I hope you all stay warm. Take care. Love Sue xx
Hi everyone
ReplyDeleteA very sweet card Sandra. The bubble bath is a pretty colour. Hope the girls can get something else to do in the near future.
We had a dusting of snow but yes then came the rain and it stayed all night with a wind that was awful.
We popped over to Dobbies today , a few things on sale but didn't buy anything this time.Ours have got Cotton traders in the store, I like their clothes but uj the prices has gone up so much.
Hope you all have had a nice day. Many hugs to you all, Maria xx
Hello All, like everywhere it’s very cold and wet, we’ve had hails but no snow.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card, love that pink colour, and floral paper is also lovely.
Been ironing most of today, shouldn’t have left ,it’s taken me ages.
Hoping to do some crafting tomorrow not sure what I’ll do. Pinterest seems to be about people more than cards now.
Keep warm and safe. Lilian
