Monday Challenge

Good Morning Craft Friends,

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend, the lovely weather continues, boy are we in for a shock when it returns to 'normal' British summer!  Mind you are garden is really suffering, we are on a water meter now though so I don't want to let the hose run for ages.  We have four water butts and they are now empty. So we could do with a couple of quick showers.

Now onto this week's Challenge,  I would like you to make a 'Celebration' card.
It can be for any kind of Celebration, so Wedding , Birth, Christening, Graduation, Special Birthday, Anniversary, Retirement etc
I'm sure there are many more I've forgotten, I am excited to see what you all create.
I am sharing this Challenge on the Stampin' For all'  Facebook Group too, so we get to see all of the cards from there too and we can share our cards on there as well.

Oh I almost forgot to tell you how I made my card!  I used a 11 x 6 inch piece of Whisper White card, scored at 5 1/2 inch
I die cut the edge of the card with Delicate Lace Edgelits, I then put a piece of Silver Foik card behind, wrapped a piece of Silver Foil Edged Ribbon around the edge of the die cut piece.
For the main body of the card I die cut the Springtime Impressions Corner die in Silver Foil and placed that in the top corner of the card, I stamped my sentiment (from Dandeluon Wishes stamp set) in the bottom corner and stamped 'On Your Wedding day'  on to white card  and placed on a Silver mat, using the Banner punch to shape the end. I popped a tiny Silver Flower embellishment on to Finish it.
I then used the Silver Foil Edged Ribbon to tie a double bow and popped the same silver flower in the centre.
I hope you like my card.

I hope you all have a lovely day,

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra

  1. Morning Eveeryone
and to all who pop in for a visit and a chat.

We had a good morning yesterday trawling round the Brocant but didn't find any bargains or anything that took our eyes well I didn't. Jim found himself a small hand saw (it has just one handle and the blade fits into that). He was having real trouble cutting the bolts off the old post box which has been in use for heaven only knows we have used it for 20yrs so the bolts were well and truly stuck. Anyway he managed using that yesterday afternoon and so today's main job for him is putting the new box in place!!

SANDRA- an interesting challenge for this week. I shall have to make an early start on this as its going to be a manic week for us.

Have a good day everyone whatever you all have planned. HUGS on their way to you all. xxxx

  3. Morning Ladies

Sandra-what a beautiful card, so classy & elegant.

Brilliant theme for this weeks challenge-I need to make a wedding card, a New Job Card plus a few other Occasion cards so with my week off work I should manage at least one card.
We’re off into Southport first thing this morning then hubby has a Blood Pressure check at lunchtime. We’re off out for dinner (pub meal) meeting our ex neighbours tonight which should be a lovely evening-so long as it’s not too hot in there!

  6. Hi Sandra and ladies
A lovely card today Sandra. Love the colour ways you’ve used.
It’s still hot today, a bit more cloud in the sky though. But I have managed to finish all my ironing this morning.
Pete took his car into the garage first thing to get his air con re gassed as it wasn’t working in his car 🚘. In the meantime we’ve been using mine. A godsend this weather. Spent the afternoon at the canal as usual yesterday. Lovely sitting in the shade watching life go by.

  7. Hello Sandra and ladies,
Sorry i didn’t get in yesterday. We had a family day and it was an early start we didn’t get home until 10pm and I still needed to water the greenhouse and a few outside pots. After that I was absolutely exhausted. Ladies I loved all of Beautiful cards. XX
Sandra what a lovely card you have made to illustrate this weeks challenge. I think I might just manage to contribute this week as I made a card for eldest grandson (he has finally finished University and got his results last week - hip, hip hooray) and my sister asked for Two celebration card by the weekend!! So my thinking cap was already on this one.
Have a good day everyone, Love and hugs Brenda xxx

    1. Hi Lilian
      It certainly was hot today.
I did some ironing first thing when it was a bit cooler. Got hotter as the day went on.

  9. Afternoon ladies,

Fantastic tennis between Kerber and Bencic, watching them rush around the court made me feel hotter than I earlier. It is now 82F in the shade here so blinds are closed to keep out the heat.

Have you seen a post on Facebook warning people not to drink icy cold drinks straight down if you are overheating? You can suffer reverse heat stroke. I believe it means it can cause havoc to your body internal heating system by fooling it to thinking you are cold and shuts down your organs to conserve heat. Their recommendation is to drink cool/tepid water instead so as not to shock your system.
I did not know that but now I will be more careful with the amount of cold drinks I consume.

Look after yourselves best way you can in this heatwave, next week we will probably be moaning we are having too much rain lol.

    Love 7 hugs

    1. I had heard that
Perhaps that’s why I tend to never have ice in my drinks and copious amounts of hot water and milk - no caffeine but that’s another story

    2. Hi Cheryl. Sadly I know about the dangers of drinking ice cold drinks when you are very hot. A friend of ours (a very fit and healthy man) lost his life doing exactly this. Please stick to cooler drinks as they will cool you down safely x

Yes, I read that as well. The same applies with dogs 🐕 as well apparently.

  11. Hi Sandra & everyone
I know I'm late not sure where the time went. I was trying to free up some space in my craft room & came across a large box of promarkers checked them all & surprisingly they all worked probably about over a 100 it's so long since I have used them. I have been using Spectrum noir.
Then I did some emails I want to say I haven't gone mad but everyone I sent it sent twice. Lilian I'm sorry it your email I sent you came back so not sure if I've got the right address I just wanted to thank you for your lovely birthday card you sent me.
Anyway Big Hug's for you all
    Love Lynda xx

  12. Hi Sandra and all in the Café today. You have made a gorgeous inspirational challenge card for us. What a lovely colour combination. I still haven't been near my craft desk so hope to get the endless card finished tomorrow at yours. See you in the morning my lovely xx
Some of my comments that I left yesterday have vanished into cyber space!! I did comment on all of your wonderful cards ladies. We have been sat in the eye clinic most of the day as hubby Chris has lost half of his vision in his left eye. He has a few more scans and tests but doc is fairly happy with the cause so sent him home with a new ailment to add to the ever growing list of eye problems he has. I have to say that the clinic and staff were all so kind and helpful. Once again when the NHS gets it right they are brilliant.
An early night for us both, sitting around in any hospital makes you so drowsy doesn't it! Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for all in need. Take care xx
