Lynda's Challenge Card

Good Morning Ladies,

I am so excited to be sharing Lynda' 3D Challenge cards with you all today, I'm not sure if it was the heat or if I'm just losing my marbles but I totally forgot about them, Lynda sent them to me on Wednesday last week, I remember seeing them and commenting but after uploading and commenting on all of the others Lynda's had totally slipped my mind.  Funny thing is I checked the list twice and said to Paul 'I'm sure someone is missing'!

Lynda's first card is one of Val's favourite cards to make (lol), a Pop-Up Box, after decorating the sides and flaps of he box with pretty paper Lynda filled it with John Lockwood's Gerbera Daisies that she had die cut in lots of colours to coordinate with the paper. Lynda then added Sue Wilson Butterflies to all of the flaps of the box.  Little pearls in the centre of the flowers give the perfect finishing touch.

Lynda's second card has the real 'WOW' factor, its a 'Z' Fold that she has decorated with some gorgeous paper from her stash, also die cutting some flowers from the same paper to layer up on the card, lynda finished the centres of these flowers with some rather posh looking gem stones.
The cleverly placed black pearls lead your eye in to the card.

Thank you so much Lynda for two absolutely amazing cards, I love both of them and I am sorry that I forgot to add them, especially after you went to so much trouble to create them.
The up side is that they get a day all to themselves. xxxx

Sue couldn't make it yesterday, so I decided to dedicate the day to filming tutorials, I had breakfast in the garden with the girls and then got all set up, I cut out all the bits to the card I wanted to share and as I was setting the camera up and group of VERY LOUD aircraft flew over and over and over, now I'm not sure whether they were preparing for the grand 100 plane fly past in London or if they were practising for the Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford this weekend, it was so loud in the garden the girls came running in.  I know that the aircraft will have started arriving for the air show so its probably that.
I was surprised at how many people have rented out their Driveway or become a temporary B&B for this weekend, there are campsites popping up in fields all around us too. We get a front row seat for the display as the field opposite our house is the 'holding point' for planes about to start their display, so if any of you have an aircraft enthusiast you are more than welcome to stop by.

I hope that you all have a quieter day than I do, enjoy it whatever you are doing.

Love and hugs to all

Sandra

Lynda-wow, two absolutely stunning cards, both gorgeous.

Sandra-good job you had recorded your videos & were able to cut out the sound. We have had do many planes Ho over last weekend then yesterday we saw a Virgin jumbo going over us as they must have changed the route in/out of Manchester Airport.

My dentist was running over 15 minutes late do not a great start! I needed X-ray last doing & she saw s shadow behind a tooth on the upper left side which she thinks is decay (reassuring Heh) plus the chipped tooth needs repairing do I’ve made s longer appointment when I’m next off (August) for 9am hoping she’s going to be on time!
We went into Liverpool at lunchtime to drop hubby’s car at the dealership as the respray wasn’t quite right. We walked into the city centre, had lunch and looked around the shops. I finally spent my birthday money....on a winter jacket!

Today I plan to spend most of the day in my craft room.

    1. Well bet that's something you really don't want to do in August on your time off work!
I watched the RAF flypast on tv yesterday and got quite emotional especially seeing Red Arrows. Are you going to the Southport Air Show. I have such happy memories of it.
Enjoy your day in the craft room and the rest of you holiday.x

Stunning cards LYNDA. The colours you've used for the pop up box are beautiful and as Sandra said, not my favourite box to make.x

Have a lovely day ladies. Special hugs for those not feeling 100% today.x

SANDRA and PAT have a good meet up later.

  3. Beautiful beautiful cards LYNDA I love using JL’s Gerbera Daisies As being able to line the die up with the stamps is so easy and to cut 6 out at once is a bit of a time saver
Ashame SUE couldn’t make yesterday hope you’re ok SUE
I would have loved to visit you and watch the planes I think it was the RAF that my dad was in when he did his National Service and so have been brought up enjoying the supreme quality of these machines
Home alone tonight and so I intend to finish quite a few cards I’ve been asked to make By the time I have finished I will have made 4 using the freebie “drinks” stuff from the current Card Making Essentials ( I think it’s that one) So thank you MICHELE for your magazine review It really does help
I bought a ticket for Stamparama In Stevenage if anyone’s interested in meeting up - I know we’re due to meet up but time seems to be just disappearing at the mo
    Take care all xx

  4. Hi Sandra and ladies
Lynda love both cards you’ve made. Well the first is a pop up box isn’t it. I love JL’s Gerbara. They look stunning on the box. Perhaps I’ll invest in these, although I do have some SW flowers that I could use. I must look at the Utube video that I’ve kept on my iPad.
Looking forward to seeing Sandra today. I’ve done some Groovi to take over to colour.
Need to ring Prof Prothero’s secretary to see if an appointment has been made for Pete’s Bone Scan if he doesn’t have a letter today. He sees the consultant on the 31st and results take about 2 weeks. I want to book a few days away if Pete’s feeling up to going away.

    2. Hi Lynda
Fantastic box and card today. No appointment for Pete. Tried to ring Prof Prothero’s secretary, but I’m assuming they’d gone home.
Had a great catch up with Sandra today, in between the workmen in the garden pulling up posts and the aircraft flying it was a noisy day.
Jets were flying over my head, very low as they were landing on Fairford aerodrome as I was driving to Sandra’s.

  7. Hello Sandra and ladies,
Lynda your cards really do deserve a day on there own. I have to say my favourite one is the one with the Gerber's, but they are both really gorgeous xx

Sandra I hope those planes are not going to be flying over your house every day until the weekend you will all be needing earplugs before then. I enjoyed the RAF display yesterday, they didn’t fly over our direction but I did manage to see them on television, it really was an impressive display loved every moment.

Had a busy morning after breakfast I decided the kettle needed the descaling, the solution was at the back of the kitchen cupboard after almost emptying the cupboard I went the whole hog and cleaned out some of the cupboards, then I decided to have a go at both of the ovens. Those tasks are finished, I think I have earned a stint in my craft room. Mind you that could do with a really good sort out. The thing is where do I start?
Sorry Sue didn’t get over yesterday. SUE hope you are alright.xx Enjoy your day with Pat. Hope the power was not off for long and you were able to have a hot drink.xx

Sending love and hugs, Brenda xxx

  8. Hello All, very heavy cloud today, had a sprinkle of rain this morning, not enough to Evan wet the ground, but at least it’s cooler.

Lynda what super cards, love all of your designs, make mine look so ordinary.

Started sorting my craft room yesterday, have a smaller table, so just need to find space to put everything. Really I need to get rid of a lot of paper and loads of punches that I no longer use.

Good luck to England tonight. Hope the tennis is finished before it starts.

Sandra not sure what’s going on with aircraft we had the most enormous jets fly over this morning so low the house really shook, also big army jumbos are the jets these new planes that the aircraft have? Must admit I have an inbuilt fear of low flying aircraft, something to do with something that happened when I was a baby so my sister tells me.

Enough of my rambling have a good day all, Lilian

  10. Lynda I am in awe of those crafters who can create these box cards using a variety of themes. I have made two to date one for my hubby's birthday using One Wild Ride the Harley motorbike stamp set from SU. The other for a good friend's 50th birthday with shoes and handbags because she likes shopping for shoes and handbags and shoes and handbags and shoes and hand.... LOL xx
