Mixed Up Saturday

Good Morning Ladies,

I was so confused with Paul being home yesterday, I was getting the cards uploaded for our usual Sunday post!  Totally missing out Mixed Craft Saturday! It wasn't until Paul said something about it being nice that we still had the whole weekend ahead of us that I realised, oops!!

Now this has to be the CUTEST opening photograph that we have ever had!  The cute couple are Karen's creations.

 Karen

Meet Georgina the Hippopotamus and George the Oppopitamus!, I think that George the Oppopitamus is the cutest, I just love his quirky face!

Karen has also made some fantastic Man cards, card genius idea, I will add Karen's description below.

"Here’s the cards I have made using the freebies from Papercraft Essentials It’s a bit of poetic licence in that it’s the chemical symbol for alcohol It doesn’t have the tannins etc I was inspired by Ali Reeve from years ago She did stamps for chocolate and coffee I think"

Thank you so much Karen for sharing your adorable animals with us and Inspiring us with those fantastic Man cards.

 Lynda

Lynda bought a couple of bargain dies from 'Wish' (a similar shop to Ali Express), both dies are really pretty, those shoes are gorgeous.  I love that pretty border die too and it looks like they cut perfectly, it seems that buying dies from these cheaper places works a lot better than buying stamps, stamps do seem to be a very poor quality as they are often made from just silicone, which doesn't carry the ink well enough to give a good image.  I am not saying that all cheap stamps are like that but more often than not, free magazine stamps used to be like it too, but companies have now stepped up and often want their stamps featured as freebies and why not, it's a great way to get their products out to a huge audience.

Thank you Lynda for sharing your fantastic bargain dies with us, I bet Michele has them in her basket already!!

 Margaret

Just look at this stunning cross stitch that Margaret has made for friends, there is so much beautiful detail, zoom in and look at the detail around the number 50, it looks as though the numbers are sat on top of the pattern, the stitched frame around piece is so pretty and so very delicate, I am in awe Margaret. I think this piece is absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you so much for sharing your work with all of us.

 Michele

Hi Ladies,

You know me & bargains....well, looks what Postie just brought me.

The stamping magazine was to use to make cards for my Brother & Sister in Law as they’re always off travelling in their camper van.

The Happy Birthday Die was £3:00-I added this to the order (craftstash) to save paying P+P

The boxed set was reduced to £6:49. Inside you get a daffodil Die, a stencil, stamps & lots of pre-printed papers plus the magazine.I know it’s a spring themed one but the contents will keep....!! In fact I’ll probably put them away & forget all about them.

The Hunkydory Kit was just £2;99 postage as a Club member.

That’s all for now.

Michele

Michele, thank you so much for sharing your amazing bargains with us, I think I am going to have to give you my shopping list in future.
In fact maybe you should become our Blog Personal Crafty shopper!

That's it for this week's 'Mixed Up Saturday', thank you to all of you that took part. xxx

Val

Congratulations Val on meeting your Target at your Slimming club, that's a huge achievement, just in time for Bikini season!! I hope you got to go out for your celebratory meal afterwards.

Day one of the Air Tattoo went well, we did have to go out and the traffic was crazy, we also had these flash storms, the rain was running like rivers down the roads, you could almost see the flowers and grass springing back into life as they got their much needed drink.
I did feel a little sorry for the Air Show goers though as the rain was torrential for some time and they had paid a lot of money for their tickets. I think that the weather is set to be fine for the rest of the weekend though and we aren't planning on leaving the house either, it's quite a nice feeling as it rarely happens.

I hope that you all have a lovely weekend,

Love and hugs

Sandra

  1. Morning Ladies

What a great selection of crafty projects & purchases.

Karen-I love what you have done with the free stamps.

Val-WELL DONE!!! Congrats on reaching your target weight.

I’m meeting my friend for coffee at Dobbies this morning, she’s starting a new job on the 26th so I’m talking her card with me as it’s got lots of gemstones on it & I don’t want to risk posting it.

Love your 50th wedding anniversary cross-stitch Margaret. I haven't done cross-stitch for a while now and do appreciate the time and dedication you have used to make your gift.

    1. Hi Cheryl. We have some cloud at the moment but still no rain forecast so the grass will stay brown for a bit longer yet. Have you made Joseph's card yet? I would like to see what card design you decided on as the male teens are so hard to make for. Have a good weekend x

  3. Hi everyone.
The internet really messed me about yesterday. I couldn't get into blogger at all. Anyway fingers crossed it seems OK now.

    Gorgeous goodies today ladies.

KAREN Oh how cute. Just love Georgina and George. What cute faces. I really don't know how youre going to part with them. Great cards. Lovely idea for a man.x

LYNDA lovely shoe die and what a pretty border. I have had quite a few dies from China and must admit they've always been good quality. Looking forward to seeing what you make with them.x

MARGARET well what can I say. You're cross stitch as usual is impeccable. What a wonderful present to give. I bet your friend was delighted.x

MICHELE what a bumper pack today. Love your magazine and die and the Hunkydory set looks a real bargain. Enjoy your coffee with your friends

I was really pleased to get to my target weight this week and as long as I stay within 3lb I don't have to pay the weekly fee. I can but try.

Meeting my friend for lynch which means I'm going to miss the end of the Nadal/Djokavic match annoyingly. I watched the one were Anderson won. OMG I bet both of them are aching and exhausted today after 6 and a half hours. Sadly neither one deserved to lose.

Well I'm just off to unpack my back from craft club yesterday and finish off a couple of cards I started there.

    Have a lovely Saturday everyone
    Love Valx

  7. Good morning Sandra & Ladies.
Sandra I wasn't expecting to see my Dies on today's blog other wise I would have done better pictures Thank you though.
I have been busy tidying up this morning while CU was sleeping on settee I was hoovering round his feet but never woke up even when I knocked his foot.
Then washed up last nights dishes & done two washes they are on the line.
    So taking five minutes.
It's quite hot at the moment both four paws are laying in the garden untill they get to hot. I have finished CC yesterday & have sent it to Sandra. Took three attempts first two went in the bin. So changed my mind & quite pleased with no 3. I have got to make my sons birthday card for the 21st.a pesky man one.
Harry fell over in school on Thursday & hurt his wrist when Sam picked him up his teacher said he didn't cry but Sam took him up the hospital just in case as he wouldn't put pressure on it. They said it wasn't Brocken but just put a hard surport bangage on it. I phoned him he told me all about it. He said Nanny I didn't cry but mummy did & I didn't cry when doctor did X-ray but mummy did
    I was a very brave & didn't cry as I'm a big boy. 😂😂 HAHA.
Well I'm going to get a shower now & then try & do my man card..
Hug's for everyone. Pop back later.

Beautiful crafts and lovely shopping, and also Michele’s mag reviews, very helpful.

Have made my c card and sent it to Sandra, idea from Pinterest as my brain doesn’t seem to cooperate these days.

Have a lovely weekend all, have just finished my cheese and tomato sandwich, so now must go and tidy my room. Took me almost 3 days sorting out so my resolution is to put everything away when I am finished. How long will it last?

  10. Hi Sandra and ladies
Great cards, Dies, magazines and tapestry on show today.
We saw the stealth bomber today as it flew over us. A bit out of its way from Fairford. We’ve had no rain here Sandra at all. At long last the lady came to pick up our old freezer. She said she used to play in a band and was used to picking up drum kits, as she just pick it up off our trolley and put it on her back seat.
