My Beautiful Vintage Birthday card

Good Morning Ladies,

Well yesterday turned out to be a bit of a whirlwind of a day.  Paul went back to work but hadn't realised that he was on earlies and not lates, so lucy took him to work and Sophie and I went to collect him.  He was really tired when he got home but that is the most work he had done where his eyes have had to concentrate on screen or documents in 2 months. He obviously has to concentrate a lit harder to see things clearly.
There is a lady in the next village that works on Paul's shift, she has offered to come and pick paul up and bring him home, so kind and it really helps us out right now.

Today's card is the beautiful Vintage style Birthday card that Janet designed for me, the front of the card has a layer of beautiful vintage lace, Janet has used the lace background to give a very tactile feel to the card,  the focal point is made up of some beautiful vintage Toppers, that feature a pretty lady and a bouquet of flowers.  To embellish the card Janet had added a kaleidoscope of butterflies and some pretty flowers in complementary colours, finished with a ribbon bow.
The embellishments look like they are from La Blanche as the quality is so high.
I absolutely love my birthday card, I will treasure it always.

Preparations are in place this week to prepare Mum's house to go on the market, to take advantage of the Stamp Duty holiday.  I hope that it sells quickly.

The fields and some roads around us are fully under water,  the constant torrential rain has caused the Thames to flood to its highest yet.  I believe we are expecting more rain this week, I hope you have all stayed dry and safe.

Sending love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  1. Morning Ladies

Sandra-what a beautiful card you received from Janet. The colleague offering to give Paul a lift is a lovely, kind gesture . Fingers crossed your Mums house is sold quickly.

we had rain most of yesterday & it’s just been absolutely torrential-we’re lucky as it rarely floods because we’re on sand most of this area.

  2. Pretty card JANET
I am so glad Paul was able to go into work yesterday and that a colleague is willing to help
In a way we should all be thinking of car sharing to help save the planet No wonder he was tired with the concentration etc The more he does the easier it will get and the routine will settle into place too
We had a dry day yesterday so the gardeners were able to get quite a bit more work done and will be back today
Off to work in a moment I am still enjoying working from home I will find it hard going back to an office
PS thank you for the offer of the punch PAT but it’s OK now It just needed a bit of TLC
    Take care all xx

  3. Hi Sandra & ladies
A beautiful card today from Janet for your birthday.
I’m glad that work wasn’t to bad for Paul. Lovely of the lady in the next village to offer to take him & bring him back. It’s quite sunny here this morning and not much of a breeze. I’m going out for a quick walk in a minute. Not quite as in walking quick but just not to long. I need to go and pay Doreen’s paper bill, as the paper shop are no longer taking pmt by the method that the home use.
Take care & stay safe everyone.

  4. Hi ladies
A beautiful lacy birthday card from our Janet, it is so lovely.
Very nice of the lady in the next village to take Paul to work. Hope he not straining the eyes to much.
Floods a bit everywhere down here to Sandra. In all the years living here I never seen it flow so bad and if more rain is coming...... the sun is shining but it's very cold breeze, need to get the gloves and scarf out from the box under the bed.
Take care and stay safe all, hugs Maria xx

  5. Hi everyone
    Beautiful card from Janet.
Glad Paul’s shift went well, hopefully won’t be long before he gets used to being back and won’t be so tired. Very kind of the lady to offer to take Paul.
Lots of flooding around our area too. Thankfully it’s stopped here today, but quite windy.
Hope you’re all having a good day. Hugs to all xxx

  6. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. Janets card is beautiful, what gorgeous lace and embellishments.
I’m glad Paul got on in at work. Hopefully each day will get a little easier. How kind of his colleague to drive him. Maybe when Paul can drive again they can do a car share. I agree Karen that it is a good way to go if possible. I hope your Mums place sells as quickly as property around here is going at the moment my lovely xx
Maria, well done on the extra walk this morning, especially after a bad night. Poor Rick, the hours will drag by for him today. And every advert on TV will be food related!!!! Wish him well for tomorrow x
No rain here today and I hope the rest of you are all safe and dry too. The wind is starting to pick up as the day goes by so maybe we are in for a stormy night?
Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Mum and all in need. Take care xx

  7. Hello Sandra and ladies,

Sorry I haven’t been In earlier, it been a strange day with lots of interruptions and I just lost track of everything..

What a beautiful card from Janet for your birthday, what a gorgeous treasure she made for you.

I’m sure after his first day back at work yesterday Paul was exhausted, it will take a while for him to get back to his normal routine. How lovely the lady from the next village has offered to pick him up and bring him home. I’m sure in time he will be able to return the favour.

Maria I hope Rick is able to sleep tonight and be ready for his procedure tomorrow. Wish him all the best xx

Sleep well everyone, Love Brenda xxx
