Good Morning Ladies,
Well I'm pleased to report that I actually managed a few hours sleep on Sunday night, I felt better for it too, although I have an awful lot to catch up on!
I felt like I really wanted to get into my craft room and have a play, so after we waved off Paul's parents and I had helped Paul get ready for work, (packing his lunch & Dinner), I went and just sat at my desk for about half an hour, trying to remember where I had 'rehomed' everything while I was reorganising (as a method of distraction from the stress of the last few weeks,)! I literally had no idea where i had put anything, but it didn't take long for me to relocate the essentials.
I then opened my Creative Stamping Magazine and decided to have a go at a few of their techniques
Today's card started out as a light aqua colour card, I stamped the Miseltoe Bunch onto the aqua card and added the sentiment underneath. Then I started to blend Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink around the stamped image getting darker as I got nearer the edges of the card, I then took a white pencil and coloured the inside of the leaves and ribbon, making the white stand out more, the next step was to flick some water onto the card and blot off any excess water with kitchen roll, this step really adds texture to the background. To give the card a bit of sparkle I added a spritz of my new Heidi Swapp Clear Sparkle spray.
To finish the card I mounted the stamped piece onto a piece of silver glitter card, leaving narrow border, the final job was to adhere the whole piece onto a plain white base card.
I actually really like how this card turned out, it's quite a modern looking Christmas card.
It was so to just feel like I wanted to sit and make something, I will share the 'non Christmas ' part of my challenge tomorrow.
I hope that you all have a lovely day, wrap up warm!
Love and HUGE hugs all round,
Sandra

Morning Ladies
ReplyDeleteSandra-gorgeous Card, it’s lovely. I love the colour you have used. I’ll bet it was a lovely relief to sit in your craft room & just play.
Well Ladies-I’m off work today. It wa a last minute decision & my plan is to spend most of the day in my craft room!!
The announcement that Merseyside is now in the highest category of risk doesn’t surprise me, disappointing for the ones following the rules. I think they’re being reviewed in a months time-let’s hope there’s been a reduction in cases by then.
We have sunshine at the moment do I might be able to put some washing outside.
Michele
Fingers crossed things start to improve and you’ll be out of special measures soonMichele. Wish people would follow the rules.

Don’t forget when dust reaches an inch it doesn’t get any thicker! Or words to that effect!

Hi Sandra & ladies
ReplyDeleteI’m glad to hear you managed to get some sleep.
Really like your card and the colour you’ve used. Hopefully you’ll be able to locate where you’ve put your crafting stuff, when you need to use it. I expect like me you’ve lots of stuff that you’d forgotten you had.
Stay safe & take care everyone.
Hello All very heavy showers, so washing still waiting to go out.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, I must apologise for not thanking you all for my lovely birthday cards you all sent me last week, daughter said , she loved them, and to pass on to you how cleaver you all are.
Sandra lovely card , great colour and perfect stamping.
Was hoping to start my c card this morning, but R bought his jeans in to me to take in, he hasn’t worn them since winter, and he’s lost over two stone since then. So that’s my job for this after noon.
Michele enjoy your day off, hugs to you all Lilian
Hi everyone

Hope everyone is having a good day. Hugs to all xxx
Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. What a lovely modern Christmas card. I love it. Using white pencils to brighten the stamping is a genius idea that I hope to remember as sometimes using white ink to stamp can be patchy.... or is that just me? I’m so happy to see you felt your mojo starting to return my lovely. Long may it continue and more sleep at night too xx
ReplyDeleteSorry to see parts of the country in a bad way again. I wish the selfish people could all go and live in a place on their own so us sensible ones don’t suffer!
I have got the cold (and it is just that, no COVID symptoms thankfully) that Chris had so a lazy day again. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Mum and all in need. Take care xx
