Mixed Up Saturday featuring Michele's Magazine Review

Good Saturday Morning Ladies,

I hope that you are all well and having a relaxed start to the weekend. You ladies that have been busy with major renovations will be glad of a weekend with your feet up!  With Paul being back at work, weekends are a joy, just having him at home is a pleasure!

Janet is the first one of us (other than Michele) to finish her desk Calendar and she has kindly shared all the some of her pages with us, great idea using Peel-offs to add people's birthdays, they really stand out.

I love the vintage look of your Calendar 📅 Janet, those papers are beautiful.

Janet's Description:

"I decided to make My calendar as follows:-

I covered the 12 pieces of card which Michele provided and then decorated each card with peel offs for each month and then names for birthdays in that month. I glued the complete calendar to the outside of the container.
I hope that Michele likes how I've made it."

Thanks so much Janet,  it's great seeing how other people have done it. XXX

Michele's Magazine Review

Hi Ladies

The latest issue of Diecutting Essentials (Issue 70) has this lovely set of festive Dies this month.

Here’s some ideas of what’s inside the magazine.

First of three features using the free gift.

More card ideas.

Just by changing the colour scheme makes these cards look totally different I think..

Lovely ideas using a wreath Die. You could easily make something similar with small Dies or punches stuck on a circle of card.

Great article on colour blended backgrounds-aren’t they stunning??

Article by Sue Wilson-don’t see her in the magazines much now as she’s moved back to Florida.

A very modern feel to these cards.

Part two.

Advert for the latest issue of Simply Cards & Papercraft which has this gorgeous Altenew set of stamps & Dies.

Some great examples using the gift with that magazine-I’m very tempted!

Faux layered Diecutting-I love the effect this technique produces.

So many different cards using the one set of Dies.,

More ideas.

These gift tags would certainly stand out-aren’t they gorgeous??

That’s all for this month.
Happy Crafting

Love Michele

Another great review Michele,  this Magazine is packed with techniques and inspiration, it's great to see them sharing lots of different styles of card making too, from modern to very traditional.  Thank you so much My lovely XXX 😍

Ladies,  I hope you all enjoy the the rest of your weekend,

Love and hugs to all,

Sandra

  1. Morning Everyone
Thank you for showing my desk calendar SANDRA.
    I hope MICHELE approves.

Off on our weekly outing to M&S foodhall this morning and then straight back home away from any crowds. I'm still very shakey about shops etc and with more and more areas being put under restrictions home is best for me.

The CAFE is course OPEN and the cake tin has a lemon drizzle cake in just waiting to be eaten.Help yourselves Dear Friends.
HUGS are winging their way to you all.Have a good week-end whatever you all have planned.TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFExxxx

  2. Morning Ladies

Janet-I love what you have done with the calendar! Brilliant idea to add names to each month and by adding the calendar to the case or gives you more space each month. Looking forward to seeing what other great ideas you all have.

Dull start to the day here-I’m hoping it brightens up as I’d like to put some washing outside-difficult to dry things that are needed again for Monday.

  3. I love your calendar JANET and such a great idea adding the names to each month as reminders I have an idea in mind for mine I am just waiting on a crafty delivery - have any of you seen Paul’s Pascaul’s card in FB - it’s a real Wowser using a couple of die sets by Karen Burniston

  4. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. I loved your new challenge cards yesterday. I have always said to the children it’s a law of mine to use glitter at least once at Christmas. We are having the three girls tomorrow so will see what they fancy doing. If it’s crafting the glitter will come out.
I hope you and Paul have a proper rest this weekend. You both need it that’s for sure xx
Janet, your calendar looks lovely with the pretty papers. And what a good idea to put names on too x
Michele, thanks for the review. I think this die cut will be really handy for lots of different projects. This magazine is the sister one of Simply cards and papercraft which is the one I have. SC&P has three projects using this die which look really pretty. I will send Sandra my review when I have finished it as I was unable to yesterday in the end x
Maria, what did you end up buying last night? I’m always worried that I will fall asleep with my phone in my hand and end up buying things by accident 🤭x
Karen good luck with your office today. I always leave anything like this to Chris as you know what I’m like 😁x
I hope to get some bits and bobs done today as I haven’t managed to get them done earlier in the week. I hope you all have a good day. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Mum and all in need. Take care xx

  5. Good morning ladies from a nice sunny Autumn day in MK.😎

Love the way you have done the Calendar Janet and to use stickers for the names makes them stand out. Good idea to put the date block on the front.👍
Thank you Michele for the magazine review, some good ideas and nice cards in there this time.😊
Lynda- hope you phone is charging up properly so you can use it. As you know I don't use mine but understand if going out or in need is good to have one but during our walk this morning I had wished OH had put it on silence for it went ping, ping, ping toooo often 😩
Hoping to get something together card wise later but first a shower oh looks like it could be one outside later too, the sun gone 😩
Have a nice day everyone, hugs Maria xxx

  6. Hello, very misty and cold here today, just finished half of a large pile of ironing, I keep going until my back says no more. Always have a talking book on. Today’s was over the roof tops, a love story set in worn torn Holland, between a Jewish boy and Dutch girl, very compelling.

Not much on today, need to tidy up after yesterdays craft session, why do I get in such a mess just making two simple cards?

So glad my daughter managed to get down last weekend, as I understand London is under stricter rules now. Hugs to all Lilian

  7. Me again, sorry forgot to mention the important things( where’s my head)
Janet love what you have done with your calendar, got some ideas for mine, involves a lot of stamping so will have to wait for a clear day.

Michele great review as always, thought about subscribing to simply cards and papercrafting, as they are giving away a set of oxide ink pads, nut £79 is a lot to find so probably won’t bother. Bye again LEF
