Mixed Up Saturday Featuring Michele's Magazine Review

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope that you all enjoyed a much drier and brighter day yesterday, I think we are forecast some nice weather this weekend, which is a good think as the rain has made the weeds grow higher than the plants!

Michele

Michele offered to do a test run on a Vase Making Kit that her Colleague had received as a gift, I think the vases look great, especially the Marble one, although Michele said that the paper was quite thin and instructions were not detailed enough.  Thanks for sharing that with us Michele, it's always handy to know what the quality of these things is like.

Michele has also shared some of her Bargain shopping with us, the Corner Dies and Sentiments are from The Works, £3 each set, the Bee Card is on offer on Ella's Design for £2,40, I love those papers Michele.
Thanks for sharing your bargains with us Michele xxx

Michele's Magazine Review

Hi Ladies,

This isn’t a magazine I usually buy but thought the free gift coordinated well with Totally Tropical Set from Simply Cards & Papercraft last month. It will work well with the stamps from your review too-Creative Stamping magazine.

Here’s some ideas of what you can create using the free gift.

More inspiration.

Interesting article on No Waste Negative Diecutting.

Here’s the details on how to make the cards.

Great article on Origami with a detailed history of the origins of Origami.

Second feature on Origami, more like teabag folding.

Shaker cards-always impressive.

Here’s the instructions on how to create the Shaker cards.

That’s all for this week.
Happy Crafting
Love Michele

Thanks so much Michele for another great review, some interesting articles,  I love how they have included some of the history of Origami,  we often just take these techniques for granted but some have an incredible history. Thanks again for making time to do these reviews my lovely XXX

That's all for today ladies, I hope that you all have a lovely weekend,

Love and hugs to all of you,

Sandra

  1. Morning Everyone
Thank you for the Mag Review MICHELE.

I like the look of the vases too.

The weather managed to stay fine until mid afternoon yesterday and then the rain began again just in time for Mr Tesco to deliver.

We're off on our weekly visit to M&S foodhall this morning and I need to pop into the Opticians as I've had a letter saying that they are now open and that my eye test should have been at the end of Feb. I know I am in need of a new prescription that's the plan for today.

The CAFE is OPEN sopop in when you want. The Cake tin will be full this afternoon.
HUGS are on their way to you all.TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFExxxx

  2. Morning Ladies

Thank you for sharing my photos. The Origami kit looks great but once you open it you realise there’s minimal instructions. No double sided tape to fasten the paper together. The papers look lovely but have a shiny finish to them do I was quite hard to scores& fold without cutting through them. The rest of the Kit can go back to my colleague for her to try.

Didn’t sleep much last night, I’ve already got the washing machine on. I need to collect a parcel this morning then get ready for a family barbecue. My brother & sister in law are coming down from Scotland and Dads coming here for the BBQ lunch. This is for my Dads Birthday (15th July when he’ll be 79). There’s already been a couple of issues over this event so I’m a bit on edge.
Fingers crossed it turns out ok.

  3. Thank you MICHELE for the reviews on both the magazine and vase kit I’m not sure I’d go for a paper vase ....I bet it was quite expensive and me..? I’d rather buy a cheap glass one and decorate it if need be I’m sure the BBQ will be fine and you enjoy yourself
The saying is good and really made me chuckle
Haircut done and actually although there’s a ton of grey it doesn’t look it from a distance and with one eye closed
Good to see you in LYNDA and glad the new chair is helping
Off to make a courgette loaf/bread now What’s the difference between loaf and bread?
    Take care all

  4. Hi Sandra & ladies
I don’t think I’d like paper vases either Michele. I don’t like the shiny papers we got in the magazines either. Thanks for the mag reviews. I do like to see them even if I no longer buy them.
Great to see you back in Lynda and I’m glad you like the new chair. It’ll help no end. Keep up the exercises and keep walking around as you’ve been doing with the physio.

  5. Meant to say I saw Doreen yesterday afternoon. Went through a sort of scanner that sprayed a fine spray over you. Then had to wear my mask & gloves. Saw Doreen in her room as she didn’t want to sit outside. We had a lovely catch up though. I made an appointment to see her next week as well.

  6. Hi everyone.
The saying is fun and so true,
Thank you Michele for the mag. review. Try not to stress, the bbq will be fine and hope your dad will enjoy his Birthday.
You ladies who have had a haircut must feel so much lighter. Thinking of just let mine grow but need to have it trimmed and fringe sorted. An aunt phoned me yesterday and she could remember when I looked just like Pippi Longstocking and apparently as naughty like her too at times, oops.
Karen, hope your bread turned out nice.
Lynda, your new chair sound great.
Wishing you all a nice Saturday and some happy crafting. I'm back to tiding up my work space again but like the saying it does take forever at times 😁 xxx

  7. Hi Sandra and all in the Cafe today. I love the look of the vases but paper vases..... umm don’t think so 😁 I do enjoy doing origami but haven’t done any for a while. Thanks for sharing it and the mag review Michele. Hope the BBQ goes better than you are expecting x
Have a lovely weekend Sandra. No doubt you and Paul will be busy in the garden if it’s as nice as it is in Witney at the moment. I am stood outside the hairdressers in beautyif sunshine. Can’t wait to get my mop cut.
Have a good day everyone. I must send a pic of my cc when I get home. Sending love and hugs to you all with extras for Lynda, Mum and all in need. Take care xx

  8. Hi everyone
Great magazine review Michele. The vases look pretty and your craft buys look good - great price too 😊 Hope the bbq goes well, and your Dad has a nice Birthday. Feel for you, being on edge with some issues - we had that last weekend for the birthday celebrations with a certain family member 😔 I hope you can enjoy it xx
Much better day weather wise, we are popping over to my brothers later as it’s my sister in laws birthday today, so will be nice for sitting outside.
Enjoy the rest of the day. Hugs to all xxx

  9. Hello All, lovely day here, hope it’s been the same for you.

That saying is just me, get hopelessly distracted when tidying my room, but at the moment it’s not looking too bad, still a couple of things to move.

Great mag review again Michele, hope the barbecue goes well, perfect weather for it. Not sure about those vases, saw something like that many years ago.

Hope you all have a good weekend, hugs to all, Lilian

  10. Hello Sandra and ladies,

That verse/poster is so true - it happens to me every time, I start off with every intention of staying focused...... no way does that happen, I always get distracted!

MICHELE great magazine review, thank you. Your shopping looks great. Don’t think I will be buying the Origami Kit. Hope the BBQ went well. Have a relaxing day tomorrow you owe it to yourself.

Sandra hope you and Paul managed to get out into the garden and carry on with your mammoth task. Work in the garden never ends but it’s one of the best therapies. I feel so calm and relaxed when I’m busy in the garden.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Take care and stay safe, Love Brenda xxx
